Daring to Dream

[Rhodes]

The Dread Lord arches an eyebrow at the assembled Springs as the ring emerges around them. "So much for the respect for the educator..." He comments drily, though when he turns to Seraphina his eyes are twinkling and he forces back a smile.

As the Treasured leaps forwards, Rhodes swirls, trying to avoid the blow, but Sera catches him with a glancing blow to the jaw even as he whirls away. The Autumn hisses a sharp intake of breath and spins back to the far side of the ring.So. She fights as well...

Grinning, he simply says. "My turn?" as his own Mantle begins to bluster that icy wind.

His left arm in front of him, Rhodes sweeps the right under and though towards Sera, twisting his body so the right palm faces her, his autumn cloak rippling.

As he does, the books behind him explode from the shelves and hundreds of pages tear from their bindings and begin lancing towards Sera like a hail of parchment arrows, Autumn leaves mingling with the dusted parchment.

[Titania]

From the looks of it, Sera seems to have gained the upper hand and that makes her beam proudly. Nevertheless, it's a lopsided fight, a four versus one duel against their gracious host, the Autumn King. Proper protocol demands they recognize his Highness the honors his station deserves.
The Fairest jumps from her seat with enthusiasm, almost risking to fall from the platform. She looks at the ring, then she wiggles her nose and from the hundreds of torn yellowed pages now sitting on the sidelines of the arena, a colony of cute mushroom people spurts out to watch the match, ready to support their King with their cheerful chants.
She turns around to the other two Springs, "What are you doing? Stop being lazy and show your appreciation for the lesson they are teaching us!".

[Sonnie Wu]

"Ooooooooo!" she marveled at Sera's unexpected fighting prowess. Of course, this was the dream world. Was she as good in real life? A question for another time, as right now Sonnie wanted to catch every detail of the oneiromachy happening in the ring. Rhodes' creative use of the books was just as impressive, and she applauded that, too. "Ahhhhh!"

When Titania's little mushroom cheer squad popped into existence, she giggled at them. "If I eat one of them, will I 1-Up?"

A glance was thrown to Titania herself, an eyebrow raised, "Uh, I am. What do you think all this Ooo-ing and Ahh-ing is about? Don't call me lazy, woman!" she said, as she snuggled down further into her dream beanbag.

[Seraphina]

She attempts to dodge the pages coming at her, but some still made contact, and she grits her teeth. Seemed he was experienced in fight as well. Not that she was surprised.

Her eyes were squarely on Rhodes, whatever the others were doing, she didn’t see. One never takes their eyes off their opponent.

Her own hands reach out, pulling the petals up in am angry swirl around her. Golden and silver spun hair whipping around her head. The higher her hands went, the faster the swirl, the metallic edges of the petals gleaming. Both hands suddenly shoot out at Rhodes, the petals following suit

Rhodes swings the cloak robe around himself and the hail of petals thud harmlessly into the overlapping leaves.

As he turns, he rips his hands apart held like talons, and the ropes of the ring tear themselves free! Grinning, the Autumn King swipes towards Sera, the ropes lashing toward her like a puppeted claw...

As the giant claw glances off Sera's blossom defenses, Rhodes holds up a hand, calling a halt. "Enough!" He calls out, smiling. "Excellent. Very impressive, Sera, well done indeed."

The Dread Lord turns to the crowd. "You see how Sera used muscle memory to attack, and how it was just as effective? If not more so?" He rubs his jaw, watching her with a half-smile. "Obviously, I prefer something a little more.... showy. Fighting in the dreams is part force of personality, intellect, and raw physicality - and you can weild what gives you the best edge. And, just as Sera did, you can adapt and change your methods."

Rhodes sweeps his arms around, and the ring disappears. "Now. Who would like to have a try?"

[Titania]

She was perplexed, she just couldn't put her finger over the deepest meaning of this lesson.
"I assume events naturally occurring within the dreamscape radiate outward. Just like you've said, a range of somatic effects are associated with this dimension, and then they would go on to normally resolve themselves in the physical world. Right?"

[Sonnie Wu]

"Ooo! Ooo! Me! Me!" Sonnie struggled to get up from where she had comfortably sunk into the giant beanbag chair. After a few moments of looking like a turtle on it's back, she rolled off of the plush seat and presented herself for a new round of oneiromachy.

"Who am I taking on, Sifu? You? Titania?" The Beast bowed to Rhodes, then grinned at the Bright One with an eager gleam in her eye.

[Seraphina]

The petals rose once again, whirling in a circle around the Nix, forming a barrier. As the attacks subsided, she was ready with another attack, when she saw the hand held up.

As such, the petals fell into their usual place around her feet.

At the praise, she beams, dipping into a curtsy.

“You’re pretty good yourself, some good strikes there.” But she knew she needed to train more. There were some holes in her attacks and defenses, and that wasn’t ok. “Seems I need to up my training.” That’d be fun. Without Quick, she’d need a sparring partner again. The guys at the gym were just annoying.

When he rubs his jaw, she holds her hands up and shrugs with a lopsided grin.

With the invite out, she steps off to the side.

She wasn’t quite following what Titania was saying though. Sapphires look to Rhodes, curious what the answer was.

Then she laughs, musical in tone, at Sonnie’s enthusiasm, and laughs harder at the turtle bit. There was a shrug, “I believe that should be up to Lord Rhodes.” She defers to him. His dream, his playground.

Seemed Abraham wanted to try as well, this was great! Dream combat was fun to her.
