(1810) Meeting of the Mighty

[Kaze]

For the first time in the discussion, Kaze looks flustered, "Ah, I... thank you for your consideration, Counc-, uh, Sand, I...," involuntarily glancing at Weavebreaker, then Phoenyx, "I am not in a Cabal, no I actually haven't ever, I am really still just getting to meet, getting to know people here." he answers, confused at what seems like a change in topic and a recurring one at that.

[Weavebreaker]

"A lot of things still need to be hammered out and we took a big first step." Weavebreaker nodded to Sand. "As far as Consilium structure goes - it is coming together. In time, additional positions such as Herald and Sentinel will be stood up and selected."

"Until then, we will just follow Alastor's lead on Arrow matters."

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx's eyes flick between Sand and Winter. "I would hope people are serious. I would rather we were as prepared as could be."

She looks to Kaze, looking a little irked. Something about Sand's . "I suppose... people may not have seen how an Order can be helpful," she says slowly. "Learning about the Arrows and about Magic was hand in hand for me." She purses her lips. If people have never known a tradition's help, how can they see that help? As if they are sleepers to the Awakening of our Traditions.

She nods at Weavebreaker. "That sounds simple enough." The Obrimos withdraws slightly, having said all she wanted to, standing with her arms crossed.

[Winter]

His lips curved upwards in a wry smile. The Councilor had some nerve, that's why he had voted for her after all.
"Councilor, the opposition was mounted by Apostates and Libertines... and Magus Knot", he paused, she was an Orderless too, "they're non-believers in tradition by definition, they would have been part of the Diamond otherwise".
"As for Magus Knot", a shrug, "he just does what he does".

[Sand]

Meet Weavebreaker’s nod w/ a glance.

The Consillium was changing, yes. Definitely no longer the same as @ T0.

Less confidence in predicted outcome. But ... that = habit.

A hand lifted, conceding part of Phoenyx’s point. ”Maybe. Maybe there was no Order around to be an example. Or perhaps there was and they weren’t actually a good example. Or for a multitude of other reasons. Either way ...” a shrug.

Tradition =/= Law.

Looking to Winter, a single finger lifted.

”They don’t follow a tradition. That does not mean they don’t believe in tradition.

A breath. Perhaps time 2/ move on.

Looking to Kaze w/ smile, ”I wasn’t trying to ... imply anything. Merely thinking that the points you brought up would be good ... things.” Poor word choice, internal wince. ”To speak to a cabal about. Instead of trying to bring those points to all of Sacramento... maybe to just a select few that you could work with.”

[Ruach]

Kaze nods seriously to Weavebreaker, "Yes, Ma'am." he says, obviously taking her words to heart.

He notices Phoenyx's look without directly reacting, just smiling slightly.

Kaze listens to Winter, thoughtfully. Not even nodding, just listening intently to the names and descriptions.

At Councilor Sand's words, Kaze nods, smiling, "Oh." he says, "That makes sense. I guess finding someone who agrees would be a good start to finding a cabal then." he says thoughtfully.

[Winter]

The Councilor was unwilling to comprehend or to concede to his point. The Guardian's brows shot up in unison, "Is that so?", there was a trace of amusement. Arguing right now was counterproductive. He turned his attention to the two Arrows.
"There are plenty of unaffiliated Magi, I'm sure you'll be able to find somebody on your wavelength"

[Kaze]

Kaze nods at Winter's words, "Yes, Sir. That'd good to hear." he says respectfully, "If...you don't mind my asking, Sir. Why is being in or forming a Cabal more or less the first thing suggested when I am meeting someone senior in the Consillium? I mean, it could be coincidence, or is there a particular reason why it would be an urgent priority for someone new to the community to get into a Cabal? I'm wondering if there is a particular exposure or risk to anyone who isn't in one yet?"

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx turns her look to Kaze. "Easier to keep track of people if they have known regular affiliates. With the dangers all around, haveing small, close groups - cells, almost - can help us ensure our saftey. I hear there is a war on." The last part is accompanied by a tight smile, portraying dry humour.

"I believe," she says nodding to the councillor, "That Sand is suggesting that your ideas for mutual protection might serve both you and others best in a cabal. Perhaps with newer mages, less likely to consider it an imposition." Phoenyx stops short and eyes widen slightly. and a slight red tinge toughes her cheeks. She turns away and shifts uncomfortably.

"I think we are merely going over things covered at Consillium at this point. Unless there is anythig else, it was good to meet you both properly," she says, addressing Winter and Sand.

The Arrow begins to head back towards the Order's quarter.

Unless stopped for anything, Phoenyx leaves the scene.

[Sand]

A glance toward Winter. Tone? Heard. No verbal reply offered.

Almost answer Kaze. But the ? is 4/ Winter. Perhaps more wordsexplanation would be offered 2/ him.

”I don’t think I have anything else off the top of my head. It was a pleasure to meet you Phoenyx.”
