Phoenyx grabs her helmet, and listens intently to Weavebraker as they head down to the Arrow Quarters.

"Why would people want to undermine the structure of the Diamond, especially in a time of crisis? It doesn't make sense." Her tone is blunt.

She does nod what Alastor addresses her, and the faintest hint of a smile touches her lips. "Yes, Sensai. He was very traditional. And I can take care of myself." The Obrimos sounds almost like she's eager to prove it.

Phoenyx doesn't say anything as Kaze describes a more mornful approach to their assignment. Wow. Have come confidence, man.

She looks around as they enter the Arrow's quarters. "Nice place. Do we stay here or have to be elsewhere?"

"You two should discuss the possibility of a cabal." Weavebreaker said with a soft nod. "If you do, I may know of a spot that could serve you two."

"As far as the people undermining..." With that she glanced down to the ground. "I feel it is more out of stupidity that any malicious intent." Weavebreaker drew in a deep breath.

"It is what it is. We will keep pushing towards organization." She glanced up with a smile. "Speaking of...Alastor? We are in need of a clear chain of command, would you care to head it and organize the Arrows?"

With that Weavebreaker let out a slight laugh. "We do not have massive numbers, but I still think we can have an effective cell."

Listening carefully to the two newcomers, Alastor came to some base conclusions. Phoenyx? Indoctrinated. A weapon, who wasn't looking to be more than that right this second. That would serve her well to begin with, but there were sharp edges on both sides of that sword, a weakness in that strength that would need to be scourged away so that she would demonstrate the strategic values of independent thought. Kaze, on the other hand, was less indoctrinated, but likely less rigid. Again, a double-edged sword. He learned the physical element, but the discipline of applied philosophy would come with time and struggle. "Well. Y'all are going to be busy, that's for sure."

With respect to taking on the leadership of the Adamantine Arrow, Alastor shrugged. The idea of being the head of the Arrow wasn't necessarily something that he'd thought he'd be after, but given the choice between himself, a hermit, two newbies and the embattled Master... "Sure. I am not exactly Mr. Soft, though. Understand that if you ask me to lead, you're asking a Mastigos to do what we do. Strip away weakness. And though that makes stronger people, it's not easy. But hey. If you were looking to go easy, you'd be an Apostate sitting on your Mom's couch, right?"

Glancing back and forth between the rooks and Weavebreaker, he said, "You can put your baggage upstairs in the tower. There are places you can crash for the moment, while you arrange your own space. If you want to be in garrison and make a home for yourself here, then so be it. You can make the place up, if you want*. I reside with my cabal in town, but this place is good and safe, if spartan. Come back down once you've dropped your bags off. Bring your weapons."

At Weavebreaker's casual suggestion that the two new Arrows discuss forming a cabal, Kaze's composure flickers for an instant, revealing something besides his usual interest...alarm? Surprise? It's a momentary reaction, and then he nods, thoughtfully.

"Thank you, Ma'am."Kaze responds to Weavebreaker.

When Alastor begins issuing decisive direction, Kaze visibly snaps to alert attention, amplified beyond his previous respectful, focused interest . He doesn't actually salute, but his tone implies it when he responds to Alastor, "Thank you, Sir! I would very much want to be in garrison here." Kaze nods quickly, "I will be back here, shortly, with my weapons." He vows.

Kaze moves smoothly with deliberate placement of his feet and balance, not jerking or lurching as he scoops up his belongings and accelerates up the stairs to find quarters, deposit his baggage, take out his katana and throwing knife, and return.

Phoenyx casts a sidelong glance at Kazeat Weavebreaker's suggestion, but says nothing.

"Stupidity sounds just as dangerous. How can you make a Wise choice when you don't try and see the whole puzzle?" A shrug.

There's that ghost of a smile as Alastor mentions being busy, and stripping away weaknesses. "I'm ready. Obrimos aren't slouches either." Her eyebrows twitch at the military reaction of Kaze, but she nods and heads back the way she came to collect her things.

After dumping a nondescript black dufflebag on one of the beds, Phoenyx appears back in the hall. She's still wearing her leather trenchcoat but has undone it to reveal a bright red tank-top and pair of knives on her hips alongside the already spotted pistol under her arm. She holds a baton in one hand.

The new Obrimos looks calm and collected as she waits to find out the first test. She just seems to focus on her breathing.

Weavebreaker stood idly with her hands clasped behind her back as everyone to got their stuff settled.

Gun, baton, katana, knife...

Weavebreaker glanced over to Alastor, wondering exactly what he had in mind. She had still been recovering from the wounds the terrorist inflicted and knew Alastor was left in much the same state that day. Still...thanks to pumping mana into restoring patterns, they were a hell of a lot better then how they were left.

Kaze. So eager.

When the newbies were away, Alastor glanced to Weavebreaker. "You want to grab a blunted weapon, or just watch? I'm gonna go a round with each, see what they show. Or you can take Phoenyx, if you want." Of the two, Phoenyx's manner intrigued him. What would that kind of control look like when tested? But there was something immediately worth learning in the young man.

When the two new arrivals came back down, the older Mastigos was waiting, inspecting the links of a weapon that looked like the mutated love-child of a chain and a knife. The thing was immaculately cared for.

"Kaze. Let's see what you can do with that thing."

The chain began to whirl slowly in a circle as Alastor stepped aside into an open space...

Kaze nods. "With permission. I would like to try unarmed first?" he asks. His katana is sheathed at his hip.

Kaze steps forward and begins a rapid flurry of kung fu strikes to Alaster with open hands, completely abandoning his defense for the moment.

Phoenyx stands to one side, watching the whirling chain with interest. Never seen anything quite like that before. Nice.

But when Kaze lets loose with a flurry of strikes, Phoenyx's eyebrow jumps up. Uh... okay. Maybe I underestimated him.

She walks slowly around to Weavebreaker. "What is that chain thing? Never seen anything like it."

"You do you," the Mastigos said flatly. Behind the sunglasses, Alastor watched Kaze's flow, the whirlwind of strikes coming in hard and fast. It was an impressive show of speed and grace. However, most of it went whirling past and around and into the Unchained's defensive pattern; only a glancing blow landed in the first flurry.

The blunt end of the chain snapped out at the overextended fighter, glancing off his chest. It was a shitty shot, something he would have figured Mage Armor would have stopped.

"Where's your protection, soldier?"

The whirling continued. Obviously, they weren't done.

Mundane defense is 3; Space armor 2E provides 3 defense. Alastor takes 1B from the first strike and no damage from the second.
