Murder? No. He wouldn't call it that. His fists remain clenched as he eyes the Ogre. Even the Hedge seems tense. Mhairi's own flame coming to life just tells him he's not the only one feeling that way.

"No." he answers Circe. "Just can't stand to watch that."

He doesn't answer Sera's echo of concern. Not with words. But he gives her a pleading look. The 'trust me' kind.

He also doesn't answer Tobias. Yes, Quick had struck a deal. He remembers. But seeing it in action is more than he can stomach.

"Think he would do the same for you, Circe? What if you were caught in the vines. Or Sera. Or Mhairi. Think he'd be a good neighbor then?" he fumes.

Fuck this guy. Peeping on women through Gates and eating people-y things.

She'd made it clear before she wasn't a lets fight fair kind of Summer Fairest. Why not a ambush while Tobias was loaded down with meat?

The Elemental hits, striking perfectly between the Ogre's legs, but with not enough force to bring the Gristlegrinder down.

Tobias sags, his knees wobbling, and flings up an arm. The twisting briars that rove over his body launch out along his arm, snarling and snagging at Quick. Some burn up in his fiery aura. Others rake his tender hide with a cruelty only the Thorns can conjure.

Whelp, that escalated fast. Circe had been hoping that it was going to be a Hedge Duel or something else that wouldn't kill her first business contact in the local Hedge.


The blue elf with a shotgun raised it as red eyes focused on her target. This was going to get hard fast if everybody moved in. With a BOOM Circe fired at Tobias. She was more invested in Quick anyway.

The Freeholders round on the Cannibal, a part of Mhairi acknowledges Sare's fear and hesitancy, but that dosen't matter as Quick goes for the Oger's jewels, and Circe grimly uses her shotgun, Mhairi against expectations if her melee weapon.

As the Oger curses and encases himself in Armour, Mhairi Unfirls the Iron Lotus with a resounding snap!

And then shit started going down.

Sera didn’t understand why they needed to fight. She clearly missed whatever had set Quick and Mhairi off. And it pissed her off.

But not enough to step close to the Orge, she hadn’t observed him in combat enough to know if a close strike would be effective. Plus that whole briars thing wasn’t something she wanted to step into.

Yet.
The shotgun was loud! Not a weapon the Nix liked, but it had a purpose and Circe seemed to know what it was.

Then things get real when the fans come out.

So she calls upon one of her Contracts, hoping to hinder the Orges attacks at her friends.
