(1712) Winter Coronation

Mhairi smiles, giving her thanks to those who've complimented her dress. The chill she was feeling down to her bone was well worth it.

"We're upstaging the decor." a stage whisper to the Vernal Queen. Mhairi turns to look at her motley mate and whistles. "It seems that's the theme for the evening,"

Fell-flames flicker as the Summer Queen enters, "Circe! I thought that was only for Halloween?" don't get her wrong, she was giddy to see her dress worn not once but twice and to the Winter Coronation! The wisp beams, "It looks great on you!"

Fell-flames flicker and dance from face to face and wonder if they'd be getting any more arrivals anymore lost with wonderful outfits to compliment, or if this was it....

Ingrid shrugged.

"No. Not really. Its not like we have a lot in common. Anyone else?"

With the conversation turning to toasts, the Darkling quickly sourced a glass of her own and raised a salute.

"Thanks Quick! And good word choice. Dapper certainly sums up yer look tonight," she gave the man a thumbs up. The meaning behind the color of the pendant was lost on the Summer Queen. The scorpion inside was what attracted her: elegant and ready for violence. At least to Circe. She did wince at the mention of friends moving on. Circe missed those she'd escaped with even now. But she was the guard dog.

Fashion is always a contest is what Circe felt like snarking at Sera. Instead she accepted the compliment, "Well I'm sure the dressmaker is flattered to hear that Sera," before looking at Mhairi, "Are you flattered Mhairi?" Then turning back to Sera, "True, true. I suppose ya will just have find a way keep yerself warm, right?" A blast of hot air flees from the Summer Queen as she lets her Mantle loose again.

"Thank you for the compliment and the dress Mhairi. As for just Halloween well," the elf held up her left hand palm up, "Pretty dresses," her right hand mirrored the left, "business investment," then raised and lowered both hands as if it was competing sides of a scale. She stopped with the right hand high and the left hand low, "Yeah, sadly I chose function over form," the Summer Queen shrugged, "Not like its a bad dress. Got good accessories AND I get to show off how it matches my skin this time."

At Sasha's question on Donovan, the elf shook her head along with Ingrid's reply, "Nope. I ain't seen him since our glorious contest for the crown." She tilted her head to the left, a loud hum as she though upon her fellow Summer Courtier, "Funny I still have a phone to give to that boy. Soooo," she made a cutting motion across her neck, "calling him is out. And everybody tell me if he shows up."

Circe nodded her head with Quick's toast though she opted for water over the champagne, "I'll take yer toast Quick, even if mine is G rated."

Smiling, “Thank you!” she says to Quick, pleased with the compliment. “I’ve always found it more attractive in men when they look dapper. Makes you think back on years ago when men really put a lot of effort into what they wore. So I’ll always take dapper or stunning.” Which should be reserved for dresses and the such.

She then finds herself a glass of something warm, tea or cider, whichever was available.

Raising the glass she nods.

Her head shakes, “I haven’t.” but why would she? He wasn’t exactly the friendly type.

A surprised look goes from the elf to the wisp, “You made it?” she asks, “It looks amazing, you truly out did yourself. It fits perfect, complimenting everything about you!” she gushed to Circe.

Smirking, “Thankfully they have these yummy hot drinks to warm me.” But she’d rather suffer and look amazing than not.

[Quick]

Quick's demeanor drops at the mention of Donovan. Where had he been? The farm boy had made his mark... even if he had a chip on his shoulder about Winter. Maybe that's why he isn't here? Quick blinks.

"Contest, huh? Congrats." A comment on how there are hardly enough of them around for the crown to matter feels like a mistake. Quick isn't about to rain on anyone's parade.

As the rest of them join him in a toast, he does manage a warm smile. He shoots Sasha a look, hoping she approves. Then, lowering his glass, he gives Mhairi a glance. This would be the perfect setting to open up to her. Maybe he can find out what makes the other Elemental tick. He gestures for her to join him by one of the tables.

Laughter and smiles not quite what the Lost think of when they think of Winter even if its what most mundanes think of when they think of the Holiday Season, but it fits with then thus 'hold and the small community they've built.

Mhairi's mood, battered from stress and Fear lightens with the atypical-typical atmosphere within the Blue Note.

"Oh yes, quite flattered." there's the burnt pink on her cheeks to prove it. Compliments come but fleet away as they focus on the one wearing her creation. A tight balm if anxiety about being centre stage loosens. This is how it should be.

Quick's silent invite hose unnoticed for a moment before it clicks the pink fire that had settled and bleached under her pale glow reignites as the wisp nods and joins the Winter at the table.

When Sera inquires as to the manufacture of her gown, she nods her agreement. "Totally and thank you again Mhairi. Sadly nobody on Halloween saw how the colors really match. Tonight is a BETTER way to show it off," gushing along with Sera, "Still love yer dress though Sera."


Ah, so drinks were what were to keep her warm. "Hmm, well I could make some jokes about keeping warm, but nah, done that enough."


"Thanks Jimmy. It was handful," Circe was going to roll with it, "and was a battle at arms length, but I got the upper hand in our test of arms."


If Circe receives complaint for the puns then she responds with, "Don't ya know girls just wanna have pun?"

Sapphires watch as Quick and Mhairi go off to talk amongst themselves. And she was pretty sure she didn’t remember the two really talking before, huh, maybe tonight it was set to change.

She beamed at the compliment from the elf again, briefly looking down at the dress. “To be honest, it wasn’t my first choice. But at least I have another dress in my closet for the next formal evening.” Always a plus.

“Sounds like congratulations are in order Circe. I’m sure you’ll be amazing as the Queen of Summer.” While she didn’t know the Fairest that well, the woman seemed to have her shit in order.

At the pun, she almost choked on her cider. Taking a moment to focus on swallowing the liquid, she smiles at the elf, “You certainly seem to have a huge collection of those.” Referring to the puns.
