The whole compromise thing was a joke. We don't want anything in place that actually makes sense...but we'll compromise. What a joke. This was a joke.

But, she had been against the Cabal requirement from the beginning. "It's always seemed unfair to me to require a person be in a Cabal to hold a position. Some people just have a hard time finding the group that mixes well with them. So I vote to remove the requirement." there...she said her peace. Well...not everything she wanted to say. You don't argue with crazy or stupid, it was a waste of breath.

Hands brush against her jeans, wiping away the peanut dust and crumbs still stubbornly clinging there.

Was Faye always this succinct? She'd thought the blond would follow the tradition of Acanthi with the gift of gab.

It was only Tuesday's strength of will that allowed her to sit, mostly still and not not crack her neck, or click her tongue, or find some gum to chew.

Since with all this Order taking a larger role thing...Tuesday didn't really have anything to say.

Fisher felt that she might have gotten a bit sidetracked with all the issues coming up and wanted to make sure that her vote on the cabal membership requirement was voiced.

"I agree that the requirement to be in a cabal should be removed. As long as they are approved by their path councilor or a herald if one is ever appointed in the future, then they should be full members of the community." Fisher said in agreement with Faye and the others.

"As far as the Banner Warden issue, it is a rather specialized role and it seems unfair to require an Arrow to make that kind of sacrifice just to protect the Consilium officially. So maybe the cabal doorwardens could fill that role or cabals could could basically provide one of their members to serve in that role? We should also address the issue of titles. With so few in the city if we do take a more liberal approach to appoint titles we are going to run out of people before titles. Should the restriction of one title be removed so that a person can serve in more than one role as long as it does not interfere in their duties?"

If all the back and forth and death of an Idea bothered him, it didn't show. Fingers picked and played with the stack of robes out of boredom total interest in the discussion. Fair enough. Most of what he knew about Banner Wardens? Came from a Duel.

Which sounded like it was a leg up on what Wayland knew.

Well. They'd gotten rid of the Hierarch and Sentinels. All they needed now was to vote themselves out of Big Chairs and...

Fine, so she doesn't get it then. Fisher was close, but still missed the mark. Banner Wardens aren't chosen by the cabal, but by the Arrow. Like, she even mentioned that they are released from their general duties so they can dedicate themselves to their cabal, cause those duties they are being released from? Those are Order duties yo. Wayland can only begin to imagine the shit storm that would occur if a cabal in this city declared their resident Arrow caballie a Banner Warden without Avis' blessing so they could ignore Arrow business to dedicate themselves to their cabal. Yeah right.

But whatever, he'd said his piece. He still had a piece of business to raise to the Councillors, but decided to wait until the current desicion about the "Sentinels" was made.

"Agreed, let's strike the necessity for cabal requirements. Any Awakened who wishes to be a part of this Consilium, and who is worthy to be, should have all the same rights and responsibilities as the rest," Avis added belatedly, finally realizing that she'd been holding things up.

"And I've said my piece about titles. If y'all want them, you decide."

Awkward silences are awkward. And it doesn't get much more awkward than having a dozen Wise eyeballing each other in silence. Probably shaking and stirring un-Wise thoughts like little cocktails of snark with tiny neon umbrellas of politeness on top.

"We'll drop that? And, uh. You know. Talk about the, whatever," a hand spiraled out, "Titles? Positions? Later?"

"So, like, can I motion? Motion to bounce?"

Also, someone needed to talk to the Ladder. Robes: check. Food? Come on.

Wayland steeled himself and stood up, before people started to disappear. "There is one thing I'd like to raise with the Councillors before we leave. Recently, I broke one of our Gold Laws, as in the Emeritus Law by losing my temper and showing disrespect to Councillor Star. I ask the Council for forgiveness and ask for a penance for my actions."

Was that a little formal? Whatever, it seemed appropriate. It had been a long night, and he didn't want to drag things out, but he hadn't wanted to interrupt Truce's or the other discussions the Councillors had been having with this manner, until there was a good opening.

[Truce]

"I recognize Magus Wayland's request for penance. If a means of penance is agreed upon now between Magus Wayland and Councillor Star, I say we witness it and enforce its resolution."

Truce nods to Wayland, regarding him kindly. It is a wise action to seek forgiveness so publicly. Wayland admits his fault and pays the respect deserved. His punishment should be service. Though if Star refuses, they may have to consult the Tetragrammaton...

"Beyond that, if there is nothing else, I will second that motion to...bounce," answers Truce, regarding Star. "Those who wish to attend the memorial service may remain."

This? This is what happens when you don't back your pal for Hierarch. Or back him, then flip-flop. Cue the Jeapardy music because now everyone's staring and waiting. Long fingers tap-tapped and drummed on the pile 'o robes.

A good penance for an Arrow constantly contradicting other Arrows and with Emeritus issues? Conflict isn't bad, yo. Stupid conflict is, though. What this guy needs?
