[Avis]

Avis heaved a sigh of relief when her reinforcements finally arrived.

"Thank you for coming so quickly," she said as they came inside. "I'm glad you're here. All of you. I asked you to come because I need your opinions, your perspectives. Because this...pretender, here," Avis continued, jerking her chin in Miach's direction, "has been hiding in the shadows for too goddamn long. He wears the mask of the Awakened, but he's not. He doesn't honestly believe in what we struggle for. He doesn't wish for freedom. He doesn't fight the Exarchs. He's made peace with their cage. He doesn't mind it so long as it lets him live.

"That's why I needed you here. I need you to help decide what to do when the Head of the Mysterium is just a traitor in waiting."

For whenever it comes up, Avis' intent is to convince everyone (Miach included), that Miach doesn't understand what it means to be Awakened and is dangerous because of it.

Whoah.

Serious stuff, yo. At least, half of it sounded serious. The other half, the first half, of the words just washed over like leaves falling in Autumn. Bluish eyes sliced up and down and around, trying to put meaning to the urgency of the text. The title. That no one, a specific someone, was injured. Once that criteria, the most important criteria, was met? Let the words drizzle in.

Leather glove clad hands creaked on the motorcycle helmet after it was shifted under one arm, and nervous energy made the Angel sway and shift weight from one foot to the other. Slow down. Breathe. Look. See who's here.

"I, uh. I dont. Like, understand."

Brows knit and furrowed, looking from Avis to Miach.

"Are, uh, are you Accusing Miach of...?"

Something. Something bigger than basket weaving. There's a question, and the glance flickered over to Truce.

[Truce]

Equipment: Car, first aid kit, magical tool, crystal, ranged stun gun

Truce parks his Chevy Impala outside the front of the Museum, pulling right up to the curb instead of taking the time to find a parking spot. Spells are weaved quickly with the aid of syllabic chanting of the High Speech and he gets out of his car to head inside. There had been clear urgency in Avis's message and the possibility of danger compelled him to be prepared. Yet this is also Avis and so he makes sure his mind is also prepared.

Once inside he finds Avis and Star and listens to her explanation.

At first, Truce is skeptical of this accusation that seemingly comes out of the blue. What evidence had she uncovered? And what ramifications could this mean for them all?

Looking to Miach, Truce asks the Curator, "Is this true, Miach?"

[Miach]

Ah ! Now that she had reinforcements, Avis put the kid-gloves off, and dropped any pretense at even basic courtesy ! Pretender... traitor... Miach stiffened, and wanted to cry in outrage, but he knew better. His fists were clenched, and his breathing less steady than it should, but the Curator kept silent while the Warlock talked. Members of his Path hadn't arrived yet, and they may be the ones most likely to see things with the same eyes as he.

Still, he was being directly called a potential traitor in front of three Councilors. He couldn't really make light of it, could he ?

Exhaling slowly before answering, the Acanthus tried to explain in his best level tone. "This is preposterous. This is a gross misinterpretation of my words. I deny it completely." He refrained from explaining further yet, though, until everyone had arrived.

Miach's Intent is to convince everyone (Avis included) that Avis doesn't care for anyone's life and is dangerous because of it.

[Wayland]

Speed. The message from Miach sounded urgent, so he hailed a taxi and got there as soon as possible. Sitting in the taxi, his mind went over what possible threats he was walking into. This was his first real call as Doorwarden for his cabal and he aimed to serve.

Pulling up outside the Museum, he flicked a handful of notes at the driver and got out. Did he give enough cash? Who knows, but the man's feelings were a thing of the past, and his attention was forward.

Not knowing what to expect, teh young Arrow moved cautiously, hand behind his back, gripping the pistol tucked into his pants behind his coat. Walking in to see the others of the community, arrayed in front of Miach, he paused. Hairs raised of the back of his neck. Somethin' ain't right here...

Having heard both Avis' and Miach's statements, Wayland moves off to the side, neither on Miach's 'side' or the other. "I think i'm like, gonna need some explainations here hey. Like, thats some next level finger pointing yo."

Wayland's intent is to take Measurement to formulate his response. He has a very clear stance on this.

[Emrys]

Emrys arrived with the urgency due a text with the title he had gotten, but inside a part of him was just to confused to jump right in. He knew the numbers, and wondered why the sentinels weren't the first to be called. As the explanation and attempted defense flowed forth a very surprised expression crossed Emrys's face.

"I can postcog the conversation if either of you have a time. Get a perspective on the talk from a second party."

Some worry shined through the Enchanters eyes, but the last time they had talked about followers of the lie Avis had been the level head. It seemed only appropriate that he try to step up to the plate this time.

[Crowley]

Speed. Crowley gunned his bike into the museum's car park. Parking was not the problem; untangling himself from his vehicle without dropping it and bolting inside was not. His helmeted head, swivelling to and fro, demonstrated his agitation.

He had received the call. From one of the most unlikely sources. One that he never, ever, would have expected. His mind whirred with the possibilities. What kind of danger would send Avis - Avis of the Veiled Threats and the Adamantine Arrow for crying out loud! - texting him for his aid. His mind filled with dread thoughts: had the Banisher's finally made a move? What of the Golden Consilium? Maybe they'd grown tired of waiting for the [s]Sacrament[/i] River City Consilium to fold under its own weight and had moved in?

And why the Museum? That was Mysterium territory wasn't it? He he! Ho ho! The things in the Mystogogues athenaeum have escaped. He he... Ho oh crap!

Other people were arriving too. Wayland: good. Truce. Emrys. Huh?

Crowley hurried behind, yanking his helmet off with his hair blowing in its wake. When he tumbled into the tense, quiet, room he ground to a shuddering halt. He could feel the tension. Heck, with his Sight up he could almost see it: the tectonic plates of past and future striving, grinding, flowing together. Breaking point. Change.

His malleable face collapsed from urgent concern, to stupefaction, to suspicion and then sheer fatalistic griminess.

"Um. What? Er. Yeah... What he said." Crowley did not specify who.

Intent: To convince everyone (Miach included) that Miach is completely untrustworthy and a danger to the Consilium.

"Sure you'll deny it."

The Angel stepped forward, a half step. Enough to ask for attention, but not threatening.

"I mean, isn't that what you do? At least, when you have to. Usually you just leave details out. But it's the same. You shift blame and hide the Truth. Just like you did with Animus' death. You wouldn't even admit it, until someone, me, asked you directly. You just let the man die with a big question mark. You couldn't even honor the life he gave for you with the Truth. Because being a Liar is more important to you than being Wise. More important than any of us."

A slow look around, lingering on each of the other Mages. Could they See?

"Or the Consilium."

A nod to Avis.

"And I'd bet anything she's right. That you'd do anything to keep yourself Alive. Anything. You frighten me. Because you Lie to everyone, even yourself, about being Wise. You already cost this Consilium one life to save your own. Who's next? What Lies will you tell us now, to save yourself?"

He'd heard of Animus, heard that he'd died. But in the end, he'd only HEARD things. Speculation and rumour. Star made some comments that gave the young Moros pause.

There was a sick feeling deep down in the pit of his stomach, and it ain't comming from that gas station burrito he'd had. Well, not entirely from the burrito. A churning sensation that he couldnt quite name. Wayland looks back to Miach, interested to see how he responds.
