Finding a semi private coner, Daniel wondered if Terri had taken is advise to talk with someone, maybe Rick from the look of things as they came. He wasn’t willing to assume too much, however.
“You’re looking good Terri. How can I help?” he asked giving her a small smile. After her mild rebuke last time he’d let her chose the subject of conversation.

After what seemed like an eternity, Terri took a mental deep breath, her ego almost stopping her from doing what was necessary.
"Thank you, Daniel," Terri began with a warming smile. "I just wanted to say sorry for my reaction back in Autumn. I understand that you were only looking to help and I was totally out of line."

Daniel waited patiently, dark eyes watching Terri intently.
"It okay, Terri. Really. You don’t have anything to be sorry for. And you were perfectly in line. Because you were right. We all have our own way of dealing with sorrow.” Even if it was denying it and hiding from it. Daniel could see why Terri was admired by those of the Winter court.
He gave her a small sad smile.
“If anything I should apologize to you. I know a lot of people have a difficult time with death but I’m…” he paused. Explaining how he was used to helping people come to terms with their own deaths while confined to a stone slab so they couldn’t run away didn’t seem like a good choice. Instead he said “I have a hard time remembering that sometimes.”

"Death is a concept that many try to escape," Terri replied, placing a hand on Daniel, a well-placed sign of friendship. "Its strange but I have always been afraid of it; silly really. I was once the Queen of Fear!" she added with a chuckle, and a shake of the head. "It's the unknown. The ultimate unknown. I've been face to face with death several times in my life and is something that I have dealt with in my own way. Seeing so many absent faces of friends and the aftermath of what happened to the Four Seasons...it almost broke me."
She paused, looking around and spotted Sasha and Rick in conversation, a smile spreading across her face. Friends, forever. Until the time came.
"Are we good?" she asked, looking back to Daniel, her hand still resting on his. Forever the Truefriend.

“It’s not silly.” Even Daniel, who knew just how useless it was to fear the inevitable end, occasionally worried. “And you’ve still got friends. Even those we’ve lost aren’t truly gone so long as they’re remembered. Their shades…” he trailed off, remembering himself and not wanting to push Terri past her comfort zone again. As a powerful Autumn courtier, she probably knew what a Gravewight and his contracts could do. If she wanted that, he’d let her ask rather than offer. He gave a more hopeful smile than he usually gave and brushed off his last comment.
“We’re Freeholders and I hope friends too,” he said giving her hand a supportive squeeze “Sworn to assist each other, even if we go about it the wrong way and end up acting the fool. The important thing is we are still there to help if needed. So yeah, we’re good.”

"Cool," she said, glad that was done. A small smirk appeared on one side of her face.
"So, Daniel, planning on any anonymous cards being sent tonight?"
Because gossip. So good.

Daniel smile conspiratorially back.
“Actually, yes,” he replied, patting his jacket inner pocket. In fact he had several. Having not experienced much of life past high school, he’d brought quite a few cards so that everyonein the classhe knew could get one. Most were just a card with a chalky candy heart. Only a few were actually personalized, including one for Terri saying he was sorry, but she didn’t need to know that. She’d probably figure it out anyway.
“How about you,” he gave a nodding glance to Rick and L’aire “Have anyone you’re planning to surprise?”

Looked like Daniel wasn't about to give up a name, causing Terri to smirk coyly. True to heart Winter.
She followed his gaze across the club and nodded. It wasn't much of a secret and she certainly wasn't going to hide it.
"Yep, to Rick," the Truefriend smiled. "We're giving our relationship another try."
Which was a bit obvious, really. For Terri, it was as natural as breathing.
"Well, I'm going to go grab my drink. Thanks for the chat and being so understanding, Daniel. I hope St. Valentine is good to you tonight."
With a final smile, Terri heads over to join Rick and L'aire.

Another try? Hmm. Daniel hadn't known they were together previously. Sounded like there was a story behind that but he didn't pry.
"No problem and same to you," Daniel replied. And went to rejoin the party at large as well.
