You arrive nearby the zoo without incident. The group reconvenes, and Verne shows Bobcat a safe place to stow his bike. He asks if you have everything you need, before continuing.

OOC: Include whatever weapons and equipment your character is carrying in your initial post. If it's not included there, you won't have it on entering the zoo, or for the remainder of this thread.

Verne avoids the streetlights like they're sunlight. Now, in the absence of word and thought, his real aptitude becomes apparent. He stalks quickly and quietly, unseen, as if he were part of night itself. He stops, raises a hand, waits for the patrol vehicle to idle by, waits two seconds after it's out of sight. "About six minutes before he passes by again." Verne raises his index finger to his lips. It seems he may have grossly exaggerated the ease of ingress. Verne explodes forward--apparently he's not answering questions.

It's about forty yards from the hedge where you're hiding to the fence.

It takes him one minute to scale the ten-foot fence, before leaping from the top of the fence to the concrete ledge beneath the adobe wall. It looks like there's another ten-foot climb over the wall and into the Zoo, but Verne waits there (E, 4.5), presumably to boost you over. He motions for you to follow.

OOC: 1 min, 11 sec/ 6 min pass before you begin. Roll STR + Athletics + Spec/Gear 3x. The +2 STR bonus from 1 Vitae is per action. -1 dice penalty for untrained. +2 dice bonus for third roll with a boost from Verne. If you do not score at least one success on the first or second rolls, do not continue rolling. Role-play falling from the fence or missing the jump accordingly. Of course, if you prefer, you can always try another way in.

Once the cabbie has been paid, Blake follows after Verne. As he feels Bobcat and Rina's Beasts, he nods to them and following Verne as he shows Bobcat where to stash the bike. Seeing Verne scale the fence and leap to the ledge, he follows after.

He climbs up the fence and leaps to the ledge. He finds it rather easy to make the leap compared to his climbing of the fence.

Rina got off the bike after Bobcat, a small smile sliding across her face and then disappearing when Bobcat fails the climb. She takes a moment to concentrate before she follows, pushing her vitae into her muscles, feeling the sudden burst of strength inherent to Vigor. The smile reappears and she stretches, feeling the new power rushing through her dead body. And then she jumps to follow Verne.

Richard stood among the group of Kindred while watching Verne elegantly scale the fence before leaping across to the roof ledge. One after the other Bobcat and Rina attempted the very same feat and both were immediately stopped dead in their tracks at the fence. Richard takes a few steps back to build momentum before taking off into a forward sprint, pivoting off his right foot just before reaching the fence and launching himself up about half way to the top of the fence before locking his grip onto the gate and climbing the rest of the way until hes sat atop the fence, balancing himself and preparing for the next maneuver.

Richard can't help but look back and slightly smirk at the fact that he was the only one who had manage to get to the top of the fence. This pride was immediately stripped from him however as soon as he let go of the gate to leap for the ledge. The moment he made the jump he knew that it wasn't going to be enough to clear the distance. He curls his body to protect his head and to make a rolling landing, though the limited space didn't help much in this regard.

Verne applauds when Blake lands on the ledge beside him, first try. "Regular track and fielder, huh? You interested in joining a coterie, man? I mean, now's not the best time, but . . ."

As he watches Bobcat and Rina flounder with the fence, a sparrow lands on his shoulder, begins tweeting in his ear.

OOC: Blake may roll Feral Whispers (Manipulate + Animal Ken + Animalism) to hear what's said. Rina and Bobcat may roll Perception (Wits + Composure - 2 dice penalty) to see that this has taken place. Richard can't see, from where he is beneath the ledge.

A moment later, the bird flies off, and Verne changes the subject. He starts to say something snarky about it being odd who has the hardest time with the fence when Richard takes his dive. Verne winces, and then crosses himself--Father Thomas' influence, no doubt.

OOC: 2 min, 14 secs/6 min have passed. Bobcat and Rina are still on the hedge-side of the fence. Richard is on the ledge side of the fence, and takes one Bashing damage.

"Good idea," he calls down to Bobcat. "Help Ms. Angry." Verne lays down on his stomach, arms stretched down over the ledge toward Richard. "C'mon, big man."

OOC: Richard can now skip the fence and the jump, climbing the ledge instead (STR + Athletics + 1 for Verne's help). Rina gets a + 2 bonus to the climb for Bobcat's boost and a + 1 bonus to the jump for Blake being on the ledge to catch her. Bobcat only gets the + 1 bonus to the jump. Each character also needs to make the climb over the zoo wall before the 6 min is up, to avoid detection by the patrol unit.

"Nah, this way in is fine--plenty of time yet." Verne tries to be encouraging, but it's clear he has an eye after the patrol vehicle. "If at first you don't succeed . . . fucking, do better."

Richard rolls to his feet and sits there for a few moments, checking his body for injury. A few scrapes and a bruise but nothing that wouldn't heal perfectly fine on its own. He pulls himself to his feet places both hands on his hips while leaning back to get a better look at just how far he had fallen. He thought about how much worse it would have been if not for the vitae coursing through him. "Aight, I got this, no worries" he whispers to himself while squatting down to build strength into his legs before exploding directly upward sending him straight up into the air with his hands and harms extended out above him. As he moves closer to Verne's hands he isn't sure if he is going to make it until his finger tips reach just enough for him to instantly lock his grip to hold on. "Fuckin' aye.. pull me yo" he says in a slight chuckle. He couldn't help but be amused at what was going on. The parade of savage beast, the stalkers of the night which has poached mankind in it's darkest horror stories and now strugling to hop a fence and falling from roof tops.

Rina idly notes Vernon's talking to the bird. Hopefully, they hadn't been whispering seditious things in each other's ear...or earhole, whatever birds used to hear things. She made a mental note to interrogate him about it later, along with a set of other things to finish the cleanup of this debacle.

Putting that aside for the moment, as it did not help her at all with her current challenge, the Shadow nodded at Bobcat in silent thanks for his assistance, using him as a climbing point to try again.

She grabs onto the man above's hand, using him to help carry herself up. With a silent nod at him too, thanks for his invaluable assistance, she turns her attention to the next jump. She had to get off the ledge quickly, and vacate it for Bobcat. If he jumped and missed, he might accidentally knock her off. She couldn't have that. She pushes her Vitae even more, pushing the muscles, already improved by Vigor, to new heights of strength. Where before she might have matched a strong human, now she could completely destroy him, crush him, and prove herself stronger. The feeling was an old friend, and Rina welcomed it happily, intoxicating her.

She concentrates her blood again, burning more to change her perception of the world. As it resolves into its familiar silvers and not-quite-blacks, she watches, as is the prerogative of the Shadow.
