Weavebreaker jaw clenched as she watched Animus' savage display. She did not have the ability to do a thing to him last time they fought, and he ended up ripping out her throat for it. Things change...

Weavebreaker's hand reached to touch upon the pendent beneath her shirt, with her eyes fixed upon Animus with determination. She drew in a deep breath and she drew down her connection to the supernal, lashing out to destroy the effects that Animus had laced into his pattern.

Vulgar: Color drains from the immediate area and depth perception becomes temporarily skewed, everything seeming to draw in uncomfortably close, making rooms smaller and all but distant objects seem in reach.
Vice: Color drains from Avis and her facial features seem indistinct and grainy, as though her identity is growing less defined.
Virtue: Colors appear more vibrant and everything seems to become grander in scale.

A simple nod of recognition was given to Animus when he'd given thanks. There wasn't really much more to say. He'd offered piece of mind once when she'd needed it. Returning the favor was something she was happy to do. After that, though, she shut back down again. She'd been all bad jokes and smiles a minute before, but the weight of what was about to happen had begun to finally drag on her. It was training, sure, but there would be pain, and trauma, both physically and spiritually, and maybe even death. It was no insignificant matter. It wasn't so hard to understand why Animus was the way he was, or Leo for that matter, when she thought about the kinds of things Arrows had to do, even off the battlefield.

She hung back when violence suddenly erupted, contenting herself with just snatching up a dowel and snapping it into a stake at first, and then lashed out with her Will, trying to weave phantom reality over Striker's eyes. It was a clumsy imago, and didn't have much power, but it might still do something.

Striker feels a spell try to take hold on him, but fights back against it. Wouldn't get that on the streets, but typical sparrin' Arrows.

Swarming. Eyes widen in sudden panic fueled by old memories, before snapping shut.

A forcible reminder. Shadows. No form, no substance. If he couldn't see them, they couldn't do anything to him.

In the midst of controlling his panic, the slowing of reflexes goes unnoticed. Animus swings wildly, cuing entirely off of the First Talon's life force. Even so, there is little doubt that the shaman is off his game.

The fight had grown close and personal, and in the grip of a few seconds that Jonokuchi could sense perfectly, he dropped the improvised Ranged Blow spell from his pattern. It was time to unleash his weight and size advantage. But at what target? Asp had been his primary target, a cause of previous sparring sessions, he knew how dangerous she was but now, Animus, the Sentinel who seemed to be slightly unstable, had torn into a member of his squad.

    It was no question.

The sumo charged at the legendary Shaman, slapping parts of his belly to unlock the rote he had learned, understanding that split second of perfection between now and....NOW!

Shouting out his intent, Jonokuchi attempted to smash into Animus and at least cease his brutal assault on Ephah.

    Asp

The whirl of the baton didn't stop as Asp noticed Jonokuchi breaking ranks and going to help Ephah. The debrief would be a learning experience. How did you counter someone like Animus?

The spin of her baton flowed into another off-balancing strike as it snapped up and smashed Striker again, keeping the muscular Talon off his center. It wasn't her trying her absolute hardest, but it was a solid, consistent blow. Surely the inky depths of gently forced sleep would claim him soon if he didn't do something about it, and then his death was assured. Patience would win the day here.

    "Avis, shall we?"

She grinned, cocking her head at Striker. Focus fire, right? Put the Aussie down and move on. He was their healer.

    Another off-balancing strike.

Bloody hell. Asp's even quicker than before. And that bloody stick she's wielding!

He took another hit that threw his timing off. She out matched him like this, that was for sure.

"Little help." he called out, not in distress, it was a simple fact that if Avis started wailing on him as well he wouldn't last long before he hit the deck.

Dunno what to do, but I need Asp to stop BLOODY HITTING ME.

-1WP for defence / 2 bashing taken / Striker delays until after Avis. Next round his initiative is 10, though I don't know everyone's initiative mod so I can't work out where he'll slot in exactly. Xander Cross ? Also Metunoctis is up.

reflexively taking a dodge action. Ephah is at 8 lethal, 2 aggrivated

The darkness provided enough of a distraction to keep Animus from connecting with his first two blows. The last swipe however caught him in the chest. It was just enough and a wide smile broke over the necromancer's face as his vision turned black and he slumped to the floor.

The temptation to try again, or to play with a different aspect of the mental patterns before her was hugely tempting, but Avis knew it would be stupid to ignore the physical realm, particularly when her previous willworking attempt had done so much nothing. Passionate Australian Sushi(tm) would have to wait for another time. For the moment, she would work with Asp to spill blood. Whether her blood would be spilled afterword, she didn't know.

Teeth gritted in a snarl, the Warlock lashed out with her wooden tool of death, her arm sending it driving towards Striker's chest with enough force to shatter the wood.
