This house is in rough shape. Quick search, find the kid if there is one, and let's get the hell out of here so these souls can be free. I'll stay with Animus and the jars. You guys should work together and search this place real quick. Careful for traps. I'll help by searching this room here.

With that, the young Obrimos set to work, looking around methodically in the basement area to help out with the search of the overall building.

Asp has a pool of 3 right now for investigation. She'll assist whoever the highest pool is.

I'll need the bear, Avis thought back, casting a glare at Ermon. A few stray "stupid motherfucker"s and "useless asshole"s also slipped through her filter, clearly splashing towards the other Warlock. She shook her head in disgust and then left to go retrieve the children's toy that would, hopefully, lead her to the child itself.

Once the bear was in hand, that silly, useless simulacrum of comfort, she took a moment to chant and then tried to both cast out her mind for other consciousnesses and simultaneously read the web of emotional connections tied to the bear. It was a slippery imago, and she could not fully grasp it at first. Space was not her strongest Arcanum, but it was the one she would have to use to tie the spells together, so she would just have to try again. And perseverance proved successful. Hopefully with the combined resources of being able to sense minds, and see the threads of sympathy, she could find the child. If it existed, she would.

Ariadne shakes her head on the porch though no one can see.

We are the only Minds here. That teddy bear may have been a focus or maybe a reminder? Though of what I don't want to know.

She slips her hands inside of the hoody's pocket and rubs them together. Blue eyes never stop looking around.

Ermon shrugs at Avis' outburst that can be felt through the network. It's not like she's wrong but venting emotions on your teammates, no matter how useless they are? Totally not cool.

Never said I'd be anything but a target here. But no sex with my mother, that's just sick.

The thoughts are tinged with dark humor, which is probably the only thing still keeping the Warlock in one piece. When they get back to their Sanctum, Ermon's going to sit down with Ariande and brutally murder a bottle of scotch he's been saving for emergencies.

Grab the jars and get out of here?

He's had a brief tour of the house with Leo: it's not like the place is packed with precious Artifacts and literature. And, honestly, Abyssal Sanctums is where he draws a line at when it comes to looting. It's probably better to just wipe the place off the map and put up an advertisment for Geomancers.

Ariadne confirms what Asp begins to suspect as she makes her way through the basement: that there is no one else in the house other than the Magi standing in its near ruins. Space disappears into the world at large, nothing within two hundred yards of Avis comes back to her with the teddy bear. But, the teddy bear, with it's nearly ripped off arm and hanging eye, feels positively wrong.

As though something within it, will rip its way out of whatever is left and squeeze the life out of the Mastigos.

It's an uncomfortable feeling of fear that swirls around the stuffed animal.

Ermon went ignored, again. This time, it wasn't just for the sake of spite. No, it was because the bear in her hands was eating all of her attention. There was a malevolence there, queer sense of threat that did not belong, and thus it could not be ignored.

Something's wrong with the bear, she mentally projected, the one bit of precaution she took before turning her full attention to the stuffed animal. Was it just abyssal taint, or was there something more?

Avis settles herself with the bear in one epic staring contest. A staring contest that yields some results, even if it is a foregone conclusion that Avis will lose – stuffed animals can look on with their beady, vacant eyes until the solar system suffers its heat-death. She realizes that the teddy is, a simple item. But, it seems imbued with something terrible; it's hard to tell in the tangled web of spells wrapping the once so innocent thing.

It escapes the Warlock what exactly the bear might be imbued with, perhaps it's just a watching spell, or a trap that if the Mastigos activates it, would kill her. It would need more scrutiny if Avis is truly curious. But the abyssal curio holds its secrets close to its tan chest.

Asp finished her search with a little sigh. There was nothing going on here. Nobody else. Just Avis and her creepy new teddy.

    Looks clear, guys.

She looked over at her Cabal-mate.

Wrong? Like, how? You want a Prime analysis on that?

    Couldn't hurt, right?

'We grab the jars and we leave then.' A feeling of unease washes over the network as Leo grabs the Obrimos jar as well. 'Can someone else come and get the other jars? And Animus, sorry about what happened, but crying over a prison doesn't release the prisoner. Let's grab the jars and head back to the Circle to figure out how to free them.'

There was a pause as Leo glanced over at the Shaman and immediately turned his head again. A feeling of complete awkwardness flows through the network. 'And...um... you might want to shift into a wolf or dog. Naked guy running through the streets is going to turn heads in a bad way. Ari, if you could check the shreds of his clothes for a phone or wallet or anything important while we head up it'd be much appreciated.'

Her eyes had started to itch from having stayed unblinking for so long. At least, that's what she wanted to think. Maybe they itched because of what she was looking at, not how long. That thought sent a phantom hand brushing across her neck, and she didn't bother suppressing a shudder.

Wrong as in it's evil. It's a fucking evil teddy bear. Like, what the fuck?! These sick, dog fucking assholes saw a stuffed animal and decided to just taint it for shits and giggles? I don't even fucking know, but what I do know is that it's warped and imbued, or spelled, and we need to treat this thing like a magical fucking land mine, Avis thought back, revulsion, anger, and seeping along the lines of her mental tirade.
