Asp stayed with Animus, dutifully covering him. The wolf was going to do what he was going to do, and she interpreted Leo's conflicting orders as best as she could, moving to hold the line with her squadmate. After all, she was babysitting, right?
Her enhanced vision was sharp against the darkness, and she followed the wolf cautiously, watching for any problems...
2 sux, subtract forgotten -1 from right
Ariadne finds nothing, no children – thankfully – and no other consciousness now that the Spirit Rat Hoard has disappeared. Meanwhile, Ermon and Leo find nothing that would jump out at them, no boogie-men under the beds or in the closets; only a single teddy-bear, with one eye and stuffing coming out of its right arm. Just a pair of now, empty bedrooms with the signs of the cohabitation of the Scelesti Cult still, figuratively, warm.
Asp and Animus perceive in the gloom. Five jars sit on the floor nearby, each arrayed against one another in startling care, given the rest of the degrading house. The arrangement might mean something, something whispered as taboo Awakened Circles and sometimes only theorized by some. The faint scent of freshly spilled blood touches Asp and Animus' senses.
Thankfully, it doesn't smell like quarts of blood from a fresh kill and it certainly isn't the blood that sits on the muzzle of Wolfimus or across Asp's clothes.

Leo peaked into each bedroom. Though corroded, there was nothing unexpected. Even the teddy bear made sense in the context of Ari's scrying and the nursery from the warehouse.
'Clear upstairs. Everybody to the basement.' The First Talon moved through the house using the images Asp had sent, leading the group downstairs to the souls and whatever was down there.

The Orphan sniffs around the edges of the arrangement, a flickering blur of nightmarish images from his subconscious keeping him from touching anything for the moment.
Asp heard they had back-up coming. She saw what was here and promptly realized she didn't know the significance of it. She looked to the wolf, a vague questioning feeling passing instantaneously over the leak as she remained still.
After all, if it was a trap, doing absolutely nothing wouldn't screw them horribly, would it?

With the upstairs empty, and the trail Animus had already found, Avis was happy, in a fashion, to follow Leo and the others into the basement to meet up with Asp and Wolfimus. When she got down there, though, her smidgen of occult knowledge did nothing to clue her on in what might be, or might have, happened.

No other minds Ariadne pulses into the thought network. Safe for us to enter? After that rat thing Ariadne doesn't want to set off anything in there. Who knows what else the crazies left behind.
Animus recognizes the array of clay, earthenware jars on the ground as being a part of a ritual. Each one settled at specific locations of a blood drawn pentacle. It isn't the Pentacle of the Awakened Nation, but the pentacle of the Towers themselves. Something strange, however, tugs at Animus as wrong about the arrangement and it takes the wolf a moment but he realizes the positions are inverted.
What type of ritual needs a sacrament of souls, specific Awakened souls, on an inverted pentacle on the ground?
This is the conundrum that faces the Magi as they filter into the basement.
However, the Supernal doesn't scream here. The Supernal, sleeps.

Ermon follows Leo. It's quite a bit of relief that they have checked everything before going down to the basement: at least nothing is about to fall on their heads and eat them.
The scene they find in the basement puts an end to his calm as he surveys the arrangement in befuddlement.
Ermm... How do we find out if the ritual isn't... primed somehow?
It wouldn't do if they touched something here and it opened a portal into the Underworld or something similar.
