Rick's expression morphs to one of mild horror. "You want me to wear tights, green tights?" His eyes briefly flick down to his arms, taking in the clear blue skin of his mein. "Green's not exactly my color," he finishes lamely.

"Oh come on, hun, you'll look good in anything! Tinkerbell can't go anywhere without her Peter Pan." The last sentence is drawn out like a child's, a whining child that is trying to get her way. Terri winks as she finishes, gauging his reaction. "You're not scared, surely?"
Rick's mind was racing. This was not good, not at all. He needed an out. "Umm...but girls are generally assumed to have dressed their boyfriends for events like costume parties. Do you really want people to think that you dressed me in bright green?" Rick suppresses a slight shudder as he imagines the color combination; it would just clash horribly against his skin, he knew it. Though from the tone of his voice it was obvious that the argument he'd just voiced seemed to be the only one he had left.
Terri lets go of his hands and runs a finger along his cheek to place it on his mouth, hushing him.
"Listen, I was joking, Rick," she informs him, trying her best to keep any hint of disappointment from her tone. "I would hate it if ya were uncomfortable, ok?" Before waiting for an answer, Terri slips inside his arms again, loving the feel of his feathers on her neckline.
"Come on, let's start with the best part of Halloween; candy!"
Rick does an admirable job of keeping the relief from his features, and completely misses any hints of disappointment that might have leaked into Terri's voice. Soon enough, they're walking arm in arm through the mall again. Only now Rick finds his gaze flitting between the various stores they pass that might sell candy. "Hmm...what kind of candy do you like best?"
"Chocolate!" she squeals, smiling wide. "All types of chocolate; plain, milk, white, mint, vanilla, coffee, orange, with nuts, fruit, caramel, ya know, pretty much anything that is choc-a-licious!"
And there it was again, that exuberance that Rick would never tire of. That she could maintain it despite acknowledging the horrors of this world instead of ignoring them as some changelings did was nothing sort of extraordinary. "Chocolate...isn't there a Ghirardelli's here? We could go there."
Terri's face lights up at the name and her mouth begins to water.
"Mmmm, now ya talking. I saw they've got special Halloween bags out!" Breaking his grip, she starts to skip through the mall.
"Come on, slow coach, before they're all gone!"
She certainly did seem to enjoy doing that, a lot. Rick supposed he'd better get used to it. Still, he wished she wouldn't do it in a mall. People tended to be much more tolerant of pretty women bumping into them than they were of him doing so the same. But he picked up his pace regardless, carefully weaving around the mall goers to catch up to her. "How do you know they have Halloween bags out? Been by there lately?"
Slowing down to a reasonable pace and looking around the nearby shops confused, she says, "Er, no, well not recently anyway. I saw it in a mag. Blast, where is it?" Without realising, she had started to twist her hair through her fingers as she thought of something. Turning to Rick, she shrugs, "I can't remember where the store is. Oh well. Hey, are ya alright, looks like something's on yer mind?"
