Shopping madness!

[Velma]

The Arden Fair Mall.

Sacramento’s own Mecca for consumers, it sports a large glass ceiling that brings the outdoors in.
It is bright and its unusual architecture sets it apart from the other nearby shopping malls.

Once inside, the blistering hot weather of California is forgotten, quickly replaced by a cooling breeze. The mall itself is impeccably clean and at this hour of the night it’s still crowded.

Velma Star had decided to do some shopping, buying some new clothes, accessories, a new bag, maybe some shoes and anything else that she can still afford to without stretching her monthly allowance over the limit.

Dressing a white summer dress the Succubus is admiring the shoes on display at an impeccably assembled shop window, Dior, written in gold letters above her head. She is carrying none of the distinctive paper bags with one or another of the famous brands stamped at its side, her hands are still empty, but maybe not for long...

Not convinced by what she saw Velma moved on to a different store, her hands still empty.

Swarovski.

Velma couldn’t afford these, but that wouldn’t stop her from going inside and watching. After all, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

The Succubus is greeted by the convenient and polite staff when she comes in, she returns their politeness with a short smile. Slowly she starts perusing the crystals, they would definitely fit in one of her future plans for a haven… she would need to start making a few investments. Her mind wondered and she begun making plans…

Absent mindedly she barges into the woman, Anne Somberkil , apparently so distracted that Velma was with all the bright stones and plans for her haven.

”Oops!” She says. ”Apologies!” Only then she notices Anne’s features, apparently she felt the need to apologize again. ”Oh! I’m sorry, I didn’t step on you did I?”

[Edwin Bridges]

Ever since arriving in Sac Town, Edwin had been meaning to visit Arden Fair. For a guy, he loved shopping, somewhere to hang out and just buy random shit. At the moment, he was carrying an Abercrombie & Fitch bag with some new jeans and tees in, and was actually looking for somewhere to get some more CDs. With his normal combo of denim jeans and white t-shirt actually being worn, it would seem he was looking to update his style but not by much.

As he was walking along, his eye caught a white dress inside the Swarovski and his Beast roared in his ears. Maybe it was just him, but the sight of Velma in a summery dress seemed particularly hot, especially given the curtain of night hanging over them through the glass dome roof.

Seeing that she was currently in conversation with someone, Edwin didn't want to interrupt. Instead, he was happy just window shopping at the moment.

Moving forward with the scene – 48 hours have passed - Anne Somberkil

Noticing the woman hadn’t replied Velma decided to silently move away from her, careful not to step into something or someone else.

The Ravager perused the shop for a moment longer and decided to leave empty handed, frustrated for not finding anything worth her while.

On the outside though, she noticed the familiar shape of Edwin Bridges, the guy with the nice looking tattoos. She recalled him from the Easter party at Club Ember. He had made a good first impression.

The Daeva moved in closer and waved.

”Mr. Bridges! What a pleasant surprise!” she said with a welcoming smile.

”Looking for something in specific?”

[Ashley Cohen]

The predator swirls the herd as she moves through the crowd. The kine unconsciously side step to avoid the petite girl that barely hit five feet in height, as if sensing the threat and authority of her lordly mien. The predator pays them no attention, with her gaze fixed upon her i-phone.

Though Ashley wants to potentially add to her wardrobe, she is just as much a slave to her unconscious desire for food. She glances around for a moment, as the proposition of the hunt begins to become all the more enticing. The feeling fades in a instant, as she catches sight of other predators in the herd, in her herd.

Ashley feels her jaw clench tight, as her mind churns over the perverse ways to abase the two upstarts and put them in their place. She draws in a deep breath, and lets those feelings diminish towards the unknown kindred, as she fixates on the known.

Fucking Daeva...

A smile traces her lips as she moves to intercept, hoping the bitch loses control and runs screaming through the mall. It is a image that only reinforces that lovely smile that she greets them with.

"Velma! So good to see you!" Ashley waves her hand.

[Cryotic]

Well. Malls.

Daniel wasn't a particular fan of them. But, when your Haven didn't exactly have much in the way of power, the laundry had to get done somehow.

Daniel was also really happy he wasn't carrying clothes around like a moron when he felt his Beast start to freak out.

Star, someone he didn't know, and...

Hell, Cohen? Here Daniel was thinking she was just a figment of his imagination or something. Daniel stopped, this deserved a double-take. He'd planned on just walking by, let the mask work it's magic and keep going.

Maybe he could do conversation tonight. Probably not covenant business, wasn't anything to say there. Just... Small talk. With Kindred, not Kine.

"'Evening." Daniel's voice carried over to the group as he shoved his hands in his pockets and walked into the group. There was a silent "Fancy meeting you guys here" somewhere in there, but he wasn't about to say it.

[Edwin Bridges]

As Velma noticed him, Edwin grinned and moved to meet her, stopping short just inside the jewelry store. "Likewise," Edwin added, eyes breaking from the sheer power of Velma's being to scan the items for sale. He didn't comment but it was clear it was all out of his price range. "Not particularly but I like shiny things, Ms. Star, and there was one thing that caught my eye."

Finally, he looked back at the Deava temptress but simply smiled honestly.

The moment was broken when his Beast roared in his ear. Turning slightly at the woman who seemed to know Velma, Edwin simply kept quiet despite the interruption.

Then, someone he didn't recognise arrive, and someone who didn't cause his Beast to erupt, which meant either he was adept with Obfuscate or was one of the Kine.

The fact that all four of them were paler than snow didn't seem to help matters.

"Edwin Bridges, nice to meet you," he finally offered, holding out a hand to each.

[Velma]

… and he has a way with words, impressive

Clearly impressed by the Lord’s charm Velma’s smile widened.

”I wonder what that cou…” Her sentence was interrupted halfway as her beast rocked in its cage. It was trying to escape and to run away from the superior predator but the Ravager managed to keep her cool for the time being.

Velma?

After reassuring control of her beast the Succubus connected the dots. Ashley Cohen, Ventrue and Childe of Belle, of the Cohens.

Her night was ruined. But she would make sure she would drag someone with her if only just to share the pain…

As if recovering from a momentary lapse Velma’s head turns to meet Ashley. Her face was now the perfect image of insouciance.

”Such a shame I can’t feel the same about you…” Her voice tone remained friendly and welcoming even if her words clearly weren’t.

”On and please Miss Cohen, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we are definitely not on a first name basis…” Her smile widened just slightly, still cheerful and welcoming…

[Ashley Cohen]

Ashley's smile transitions to a smirk as she quickly retorts. "Irregardless Miss Star, it is lovely to see you. Ashley glances between the three for a moment, as her body language and tone turns more playful. "Though I must say, you look a little on the pale side..."

"...Maybe a little sun?"

Ashley waves her hand dismissively. "Kidding of course, Love... You are stunning as ever..."

With the prideful needs of her beast sated, the smirk fades and she glances to the two gentleman.

"As Miss Star was so polite to introduce, I am indeed Miss Cohen...though Ashley works just fine." Ashley shakes Edwin's hand with her introduction.

Ashley grins once more as she glances to Daniel. "How have you been?"
