Maybe it was your contacts. Maybe you kept an eye out for strange mentions of things in blogs or the newspaper. Maybe it was the fact that you were a giant nerd who surfed all sorts of internet forums. Or a rough sort, who listened for the word on the street. But the whispers in the dark side of Sacramento kept pointing to something.
A death, in South Sacramento. Posters on an internet forum - www.darksidesacramento.com - one of those little fringe ones writing conspiracy theories about crimes that have gone unsolved or that are strange, reporting on it. The Pentacle of Sacramento shouldn't have to worry about it, should they?
But this one strikes close to home. The reports on the website report a man killing someone. The cause of death? Electrocution. The coroner thought nothing of it; bare wires had been seen near the body that had laid there on the streets, two months before. The killing was ruled accidental. That was that. End of story.
Except for the part where one eye-witness claimed to have seen a man with a glow of light around him, firing a blast of lightning from his hands right there in the street. What's worse is that they are corroborated by another witness. Both seem not entirely insane, but I mean, these are people on the internet, right?
It's probably nothing.
Right?
The rumours and postings on the forum have led to a small meeting being called at the Circle of Creation, hosted by Cut with Ariadne's approval.
