Marcus is able to identify several bloody footprints and a bloody smear that seemingly lead ten steps and then disappear. There is nothing else to be seen.
Marcus' eyes narrow when he sees the bloody tracks seemingly disappear into thin air. He knows what that usually means in his world.
Hedge Gate Sense: 2 suxx
Trying not to slip off the radar into uselessness! Sorry, guys.
Following silently behind, the Witchtooth quite literally watches the others' backs. He checks behind them, every few moments, to be sure there aren't any human witnesses. Or anything more unsavory, looking to make prey from an already weakened Freehold.
Locke is thankful that Marcus is here. His own inadequacy is underlined with every action.
He could be consumed with hate, at the thought of what Din has reduced him to. A simple brute, following obediently behind a more competent man.
"We must make certain this sacrifice was not in vain."
The words are spoken softly by comparison to his usual tone. They are more for himself, than either of the others. But as powerful as the Ogre's voice is, the words will carry to them easily.
Sorry, no help here :(
Marcus' Hedge sense unfortunately reveals nothing to him. Mary is able to hold back her oppressing depression, at least enough to keep herself together for now.
Mary's contributions remain limited to keeping herself together until someone tells her what to do - maybe seeing her do nothing would 'inspire' someone to suggest a good idea of something she could do. Or, she could just ask, "What should we do, Marcus?"
As Mary asks the sirens draw even closer. The group can probably guess they have about 1 minute before they are swamped by Ambulances, Police cars or Fire Engines.
Marcus stares at the bloody smear on the pavement as he ponders what could have happened to Spartan's body.
"Right. First off, we should avoid all of the nice folks with guns and badges that sound like they are heading right towards us."
After one last sweep to make sure he isn't leaving anything behind, the metalflesh motions everyone back in his jeep and drives the remaining distance to the burning Four Seasons.
Mary hops into the jeep with a grace born not so much of athleticism as the very real concern with being arrested, not wasting breath arguing with any ideas for the present. She does not add anything productive, either, but that may be more due to laziness mixed with shock.
And the shock does not seem to fade as they draw closer to the burning building, her mouth a third of the way open as her eyes search for anything of note in the wreckage and flames.
2 sux Perception, fail if investigation
Marcus whirls down the street, drawing as near to the four seasons as he could drive. Sure enough, the four seasons was now nothing more than rubble. If anyone had been inside the building at the time of the collapse they were undoubtably dead. After a moment's pause at the wreckage, the emergency vehicles arrived at the scene, signalling for the group to depart promptly. Once a safe distance away, the gang decides to split up and go their seperate ways. They had effectively survived the crisis, how they would handle the fallout was anyone's guess.
End Scene.
