Emma held on as the wind and branches whipped around her. She tried to keep an eye in front of them until she was hit in the eye with a branch. "Damn" she murmured into the wind. She then lowered her head closer to the neck of the wolf, her view obsured by fur and ears.

[James Calloway]

Jim's wolfy senses were doing their level best to try to pick something out, but try as he might, out on the flank he wasn't hearing very much at all. His eyes flicked about; all seemed clear to him.

Peering over at the others, he checked his position and continued his racing lope in the same direction as the pack.

[Roxie Hart]

Roxie’s eyes darted this way and that. Though occasionally she was tickled by Dillon’s fur. It was a little distracting to be mounted bareback on someone while running through the woods. Her short blonde haired head darted a bit this way and that through the trees at night, trying to spot what they were after.

By the way, I'd like to note that these rolls obviously don't represent 3-second combat actions, but rather: each one indicates several minutes of actively watching, listening, and sniffing

About half an hour deep into combing the mountainside, Tracy senses something. A combination of things, actually. A track, a snapped branch, but most importantly, the lingering, musty aroma of of a huge predator. Something extremely powerful, with death and decay on its breath.

[Tracy Burns]

Her lupine ears perked up as Tracy sensed trouble nearby. Even through the darkness of that night, the petite Gangrel managed to spot some tracks nearby. However, it was the strong scent of another predator that alerted her that they had managed to track down their prey. Per Dillon's instructions prior to the beginning of the hunt, a lone howl was heard in the night, alerting the rest of the pack that something of interest had been found.

The maned wolf stood in its place, waiting for the other wolves to approach her location. She continued to sniff the air around her, ensuring that she did not lose the scent. As she stood there, still in the night, Tracy could feel her Beast rile up in excitement. The Gangrel Whip was not in the verge of frenzy, not at all. However, the thrill of the hunt, the promise of violence, these things excited the animal inside...and the petite Gangrel as well.

Soon enough. The time will come.

[Emma French]

The hairs stood up on the back of Emma's neck when she heard a howl in the night. She tightened her grip on Wolfy Swift...or swifty wolf? Excitement tingled through her body. If she had a beating heart it would sound like a warrior drum. Beast was heating up Emma's insides. Thoughts of pulsating blood took over her mind. Emma then began to prepare her mind and body for battle with a quiet meditation of sorts in order to remain in control.

[Swift]

Wolf Swift's pace slows as the howl pierces the night. His ears swivel, locking onto the sound and his head quickly follows. Then he starts off in the direction of the signal, a bit slower than before and keeping himself - and his passenger - lower to the earth. It doesn't take long for Swift and Emma to arrive at Tracy's location, alert for trouble and eager for the hunt to begin in earnest.

[Dillon Connery]

Dillon doesn't turn as quickly as he could have at the howl, because even with Roxie's experienced grip, the sudden change in direction at the speed they're moving in might tear her right off of his back. He cuts an arc that is more gentle in degree at the beginning, as a silent warning to lean, then sharpens out at the end. When his nose is pointed directly at the source of the howl, the Gangrel Priscus picks up an insane amount of speed, pumping as fast as he can until they're within range of Tracy.

He slows to a trot, mindful to go over or around obstacles rather than under them. Just like with the turn, Dillon makes sure not to brush the sexy Regent from her mount. While he is sure she could take the hit, it would be terribly embarrassing.

The scent is easily detected to the canine senses. The signs of a large creature moving through the foliage are a little harder to detect, and require a keen eye, but they are there.

Giving Tracy a solid, wolfish nod of approval, Dillon's nose then lifts to point at her, then snaps around toward where the trail leads off; the direction from which the scents are fresher. It is a direction for her to take point, as a reward for her success in locating signs of what must be their quarry.

[James Calloway]

Upon hearing the howl, James cuts hard toward the sound and dashes in to join the pack of wolves. He slows as he arrives, sniffs once he realizes nobody is being rended limb from limb just yet and looks around for a moment. Once their direction is set, he reassumes his position on the flank of the clan's wolven battle line, ready for whatever may come.

[Roxie Hart]

Roxie heard the howl but she couldn’t quite distinguish whose howl it was. At that same time she felt the shift in Dillon’s form. Like turning on a motorcycle she figured out which direction he was headed and leaned with him as they turned round.

“Whooo.” The Leggy Regent softly said as they suddenly went faster. It was hardly loud, but probably just audible to the Gangrel hottie’s wolf form betwixt her legs. She knew he was also picking up a scent, but as for now, she was at the mercy of his furry form.

When they came upon Tracy she leaned in and whispered into Dillon’s ear. “Shake your head when ya want me off.” Fuck should have worked that out earlier. In the dark she glanced around for the others and what alerted Tracy to the area.
