The lights come up on stage and the members of Apocalyptica stand basked in light of purple and blue. They start slowly, playing the beats quietly as the begin. A mournful sound comes off of one of the cellos as the beginning of Quasimodo can be heard.

As the band begins, Spartan applauds with the audience. Spartan has been a fan of this band since the first time he heard there music. It was major success for Spartan to get the band to come to his club. A band that does not tour america as often as others. So he considered himself very lucky. But it was more then just his success. With help from Apocolyptica, he could help another member of the hold. Maestrom Strings name was on every flier posted and even in the radio ads.

As the band continues playing he looks for others of his ilk and hopes that they would come to see this show.

Tobias walked into the Forge, drinking up the energy in the crowd that had already gathered. He would have come, even if Spartan hadn't done him a huge favor with the advertising campaign. He'd enjoyed listening to Apocalytpica for years, and this was his first chance to see them live. That his own brand, his name, was attached to the show? That made everything so much better.

He spotted his benefactor through the crowd, and started to make his way over. He grinned at the man as he neared. When he was within speaking distance, he gave the summer king a wave. "This is amazing, thanks so much for doing this."

The Fairest Dancer paid the guy at the door as she entered the Forge. Immediately when she walked in she checked to see if the cage was up, and so far it was. Not that she hated the brawling, but there had to be more than food, fighting and fucking… well, the latter she wasn’t sure of.

L’aire doubted there would be dancing, but like that mattered when good music was playing. She couldn’t even remember the name of the last band that had been there only that it was really loud. An airy sweater adorned her frame, in black so as not to really stand out along with black jeans and just a little feminine touch of heels. Which only made her tall frame, taller, which was an advantage at a concert.

Her violet eyes peered around the bar area, not seeing the one from last time, and who knows where Irea was. Which kinda sucked, she liked the woman. L’aire smiled to Tobias Thorne recalling their conversation about instruments once. She nodded to the one they called Spartan , who was the Summer King and owner of the forge apparently. The Winter Fairest didn’t approach the Elemental nor the Ogre though, since they looked like they were chatting.

But… she was totally psyched for this concert. It showed in her demeanor and the music was already beginning to work its magic on her internal rhythm.

Warren Locke is not what they call "big on" music, in general. In Arcadia, it was merely background noise during victory feasts. Before, Locke could scarcely remember. And since, well. He owns no computer. No mp3 player.

What little he gets to listen to the radio offers no sampling of this sort of music. It is that, more than anything else, that he uses to rationalize his decision to come tonight. In truth, he is also curious to see what other members of the Sacramento Freehold might be seen doing out among the humans. Dressed simply in a dark button-down shirt and slacks, there is no leather adornment to help explain away his Mantle. No one would hear or smell it it here anyway.

The music itself draws a fascinated gaze to the stage from the Witchtooth. There is nothing electronic or inherently digital in the performance, only strings and percussion. What modern technology there is, exists primarily to bring the more natural sounds to everyone's ears.

Compiled with the rugged, no-nonsense style of the forge, all stone, wood, and steel...

With a measured look around, it is clear that he approves of it all.

    Excellent.

Locke is now an Apocalyptica fan.

Easily spotting the other Lost gathered via his height advantage, he feels a pause. None of them are familiar, but then, he had met very few members of the Freehold thus far. His greeting nod to any of them that look his way is solemn. Stoic. Not particularly unfriendly, but not particularly inviting, either.

Hardly the smile and wave kind of fellow.

    Ah, Music.

Lou arrived at the forge somewhat later than he'd hoped. He was dressed in a large, black button-up shirt with a design of flames along the sleeves and lower hem. His pants were form-fitting black slacks - though they were somewhat worn. His delay was largely due to his refusal to talk down the guy who was selling the tickets. The dragon in him wanted to just smash him and take the ticket. That would be wrong. He reminded himself.

The prices were far too outrageous for his taste, but the vendor wouldn't budge. He had only bought so much cash with him, expecting it to be able to cover the price. When he realized it wasn't enough, he had to return to his room at the Four Seasons and grab some more. Which means he also had to count it all to make sure it was all there. Inflation's really gotten bad over the past few years. Geez. He thought as he counted out his bills. He shoved the cash at the vendor upon his return, and snorted in frustration before entering the Forge.

Apocalyptica was one of his favorite bands before his time in Arcadia. Of course, he'd forgotten, but upon realising that they'd be playing live he eagerly took the opportunity to visit. He'd never been to a concert of course - he was not one for crowds - so many people in such a little space. Only bad things could end with Lou, in his former condition, under those circumstances.

As lou entered the forge, he immediately took notice of L'aire , the Lost who had been eyeing him at the coronation. He could feel the summer heat pouring off of Spartan from all the way across the room, so intense that he only barely noticed the song rising from the other Lost who was standing next to him. To his right was another one of the Lost, unfamiliar to him, though he couldn't quite place the smell that surrounded him. Leather, maybe?

After taking stock of the room, Lou casually approached L'aire and greeted her with a smile. "I was hoping I'd catch up with you. I'm Lou" he said, quietly, doing his best to not overpower the music.

A tray full of beverages balances delicately on fingertips of her outstretched arm. Like a stroke of lightning across the sky, she zig-zags with surreal celerity and dexterity through the crowded venue.

Ion pauses briefly for a flicker of a moment to drop off two heinekens to two dudes enjoying the show. Collecting payment, she is off in a flash, winding her way through the crowd with six jager-bombs for a group off to the side.

Drawing near the group, a drunken idiot shoulder checks her as he makes his way to the bar. She keeps her balance and shifts the weight of the tray, keeping it from falling to the floor, as the shot glasses and red bull start to slide. Quickly she shifts again, losing only one red bull to the feet of the crowd.

Like a flash, her temper flares to lethal levels as the idiot doesn't even bother appologizing. She knows what she wants to do and what she should do...

"Dumbass..." She spits out quickly as he stumbles towards the bar and she continues to the table. She could make due with one less red bull. I doubt they will even notice...

Settling the tray down onto the table, she quickly dispenses the cups and fills them evenly with the remaining cans of red bull. Laying out the shots next to each cup, her job is done. After a bit of useless flirting, they hand over what they owe and with payment in hand she is back to the bar for another adventure...

It is hard to believe she already put in eight hours at the coffee shop...

Clare wasn't sure what to expect from a crowded Forge, or the music of Apocalyptica when she entered, but she'd seen the posters and decided 'Why not?' She was surprised by the initial quiet of Quasimodo, having expected something else from what she'd heard of the Forge's reputation for metal.

But as the music continued and Clare made her way to the Bar, she began to feel the Frisson of energy in the crowd and the musicians. Oh, This is going to be fun. Now why haven't I listened to them before? She ordered one of Magnus's beers, then began winding way through the crowd, playing 'spot the other Lost' - there was a massively tall man with white scales, a surreal beauty of a woman, and another who was serving drinks, and over there - Spartan and Tobias.

Clare let's a somewhat Manic grin split her face before letting it calm as she Worked her way over to her Sovereign and her Friend. "Yo! Tobias! Sp- Castor!" Clare waved to them, took a sip of beer, and soon slipped up to join them.

The Winter Fairest watched the intense looking Ogre enter the Forge. Warren Locke His face felt pensive, but she wondered what could be beneath to warrant such an expression. She smelled a hint of leather in the air, it could have been the guys in the band… or the Warlock. L’aire wasn’t shy, or mousey, but she did know what’s good for her. Well… sometimes. Some of the men of the freehold could probably snap her like a twig. Especially a particular chessman she danced with who had hidden grace beneath the armor.

The music stirred her spirit within. A beautiful combination of strings and driving rhythm. It may not have been danceable at this moment, but it sure as hell beat whatever the hell their name was. But at least Spartan gave the Freehold a place to go, something different and unique.

    Oh boy.

And then the Winter Fairest was reminded what happens when a person stared. The wingless Dragonic moved her direction. Her violet eyes slowly moved upward as he approached. It was hard not to notice the pearly iridescence of his scales. Even though she was slightly taller than average, it paled in comparison to the towering Fairest.

The Dancer had nothing to hide as she spoke. “Could it be because I kept looking at you at the… party?” With a shoulder shrug and a quick grin. She moved her hand, which looked strong, yet there was a hesitation in it’s extension. “I’m L’aire. Nice to finally put a name to the face, Lou .”

I’m sure the studio wouldn’t believe me if I told them a dragon broke my hand.

Rick didn't come to the Forge often. The pounding, almost frantic, nature of the club just wasn't quite his scene. But he was rather fond of Apocalyptica, so the evening's concert had become a can't miss for him as soon as he'd heard of it. And Terri Nutkins had opted to come with him, of course.

He can feel the music wash over the two of them, almost like a physical force, as they step into the establishment. And the frenzied motion of the crowd engulfing them before he can manage to shoulder his way through to an area that gives them a bit of room to breathe. "Spartan sure has made this place popular." Even as close as the two were, the words nearly had to be shouted to be heard.

The crowd around the bar is given a slightly dubious look as the Airtouched pondered his chances of getting in, getting his drinks, and then getting back out of the surging mass of humanity without getting the drinks spilled all over the floor. But then his eyes, quick as ever, catch sight of a familiar face. Albeit one he hadn't seen in a while. The hair helped, it wasn't often you saw that shade of blue even here. Of course, the crackling arcs of electricity were a dead give away too. She also seemed much better at moving through such a crowded environment than he was. So he waited until she was facing his way to raise his arm, hoping that he'd be able to catch the attention of Ion through the crowd.

    Apocalyptica. Was. Awesome.

It's not like Perry was a heavy metal fan as a rule. But every now and then, there came a band that did it for him. Cellos playing heavy metal was definately one of them, and when he heard they'd be playing at the Forge, the lawyer was very excited indeed.

He did not wear a suit tonight. The lack of one was almost as striking as when he wore one. Almost.

Scanning around, he smiled at Clare and L'aire, giving a nod to Rick and to King Spartan. Lou got a sort of 'sup' chin movement, a less familiar gesture, but an equally open one. He looked around to see who else he could see, then made his way up to the bar to order a vodka. It was great to be at such an awesome concert. Even better, though, was being there among friends.

Looking around to see who was here, he enjoyed the song being played. Cellos playing heavy metal? Whoever thought of that was a genius that even a lawyer could appreciate.

Shaniqua's gonna be so jealous when she hears about this...
