Spartan finds himself on a dark reflection of the Guy West pedestrian bridge. Looking up, he might notice that bright stars in the pitch black sky overhead sometimes waver and dance as if they are seen through a current of clear water. Thorny vines grow out of the surrounding Hedge and seem to choke the foot of the bridge and entangle the handrails, eventually trailing in the dark waters below. Up ahead, the Ogre sees that the bridge is torchlit, and two enormous bruisers guard the entrance to what must be the infamous Fleshmarket.

Spartan does a slow turn, getting the lay of his environment and keeping an eye out for any hobs or gobs that might be looking to knife him in the back. Spartan trusted little but when it came to anything that lived in the hedge, Spartan trusted not at all. Spartan moved over to a tree and leaned against it. Waiting to see if the others would follow him through.

Enzo slips into the gate and follows Spartan and a Bert, ready to make way to their destination. He kept back a couple paces, bow shrunken and dormant in hand, ready to grow it into combat position at a moments notice. He'd let the others lead the way.

Bert almost thinks something went wrong when Spartan plunged through the surface but then realized that it must be the entrance and followed him inside. Bert sees the torches lit up ahead and the guards before them. He sighs and says "Whew this should be fun." he looks to the others and then makes his way towards the gates, waiting to be addressed and instructed by the guards before entering.

"Yes well interesting at least." Spartan said as he followed Burt to the gate and waited with him.

The fearsome Blunderbores guarding the entrance appear to find the three men rather uninteresting. Looking over the Fairest and the two Ogres in the flickering torchlight, their blood-red eyes linger on the small branch in Enzo's hand, but they do nothing to impede any of the men. The Changelings do notice that each brute grasps a length of chain holding a wolf seemingly made of darkness and shadow. The strange beasts give the three Market-goers low, rumbling growls as they walk past the gates and into the Market proper. Once inside, Bert, Enzo, and Spartan are enveloped in a cacophony of bizarre sights, sounds, and smells. Stalls are crammed cheek to jowl along the sides of the bridge, with a narrow, winding central path leading through the chaos as the merchants fight to hawk their wares. Various booths can be seen selling all manner of hides, meats, fluids, and other rather unsavory-looking body parts. Here and there, some stalls appear to sell complete carcasses, both alive and, apparently, dead. They also see live animals of exotic origin, both mundane and Hedge-born, and shockingly, a few caged creatures that appear decidedly human. Some of the human-looking captives even appear to be enticing the customers, as if they are offering themselves for sale quites willingly. As the three men look around at the wares on display, another Blunderbore with a dark wolf chained to its wrist walks past, its eyes constantly searching the crowd for potential trouble. They get the distinct impression that perhaps they should all be on their best behavior.

Bert tries not to make eye contact with the guards at the entrance or inside the market for fear of rousing their anger. The smells are strange to him and he covers his nose from gagging, definitely not what he'd expected but then he figures with all the meats being sold, one of them has to be a bunyip. Recalling the scent of what a cooked bunyip smelled like, having eaten it himself, Bert tries to see if the scent of the aquatic demon is in the air and will try following it while he also looks for a Sal. "Keep your eyes peeled for a guy with an eyepatch." he whispers to Spartan and Enzo.

Spartan looked around the bazaar of creatures and beings attempting to sell there wares. Spartan was not impressed by this place, to be honest he really didn't care about this place at all except that he may find the man wearing the eye patch. "Yes, and when we find him?" Spartan asked with emphasis on the when.

Bert shrugs "I guess we try asking him if he sells bunyips and if so, where he gets them from and pray he was the only one supplying them to begin with." Bert also secretly hopes Sal won't think that he, Spartan and Enzo are on the take to takeover a bunyip racket.
