Emma nodded towards the door, "Should I talk with her later? I could tell her my reasons for using a more formal title in court. And maybe address with her that rude behavior isn't acceptable in court?" Emma gave a shrug. "Though, I am not sure that would help. She is who she is. And all this brings the old question I always have, whose rights are more important." Emma let the topic slip away for the moment.

Emma looked at Dominic and wrestled with her beast before she spoke, "Mr. Ashton, I trust your acknowledgement went well. Welcome to the domain." She gave him a warm and inviting smile.

    Lyssa Wolfe. Ghoul

    Curse

Past her Albinism, Alice is naught but a doll, beautiful in her impossible perfection. Taking on a inescapable sheen of artifice, both movements and manner seem, hollow and fake. She's nothing but a marionette, limbs jerking and twisting as if pulled by invisible strings.

Marring her unnatural beauty are her eyes, or the lack of them, vacant pits of visceral horror.

A light smirk, twisted in plastic mockery, "Madame Reeve, I'm sure that whatever's next, Miss Connolly will be quite vocal making certain we know what is to come." Or at least what the Daeva plans on what would be taking place next.

"Hmm, could be," To Ale as she mused over where the rest of the kindred of the domain were. But there was always the thought crawling at the back of her mind that the Domain was small and at any moment it could. Would grow smaller.

"That would be great if you would." a happy, wide plastic smile directed at Emma. Alice was sure that anything else coming from Reeve and Seneschal both would be looked down on and sneered at.

At Vivian's words Alice nods as well, she'd heard of the Monomacy that had taken place in the time before her arrival, but she hadn't head anything from the years or decades before then. And with what had just transpired maybe a history lesson was in order. Alice didn't want to be doomed to make the mistakes of the past.

The talk of Monomacy was something Dominic had no intention of delving into. He was too new for one, and the fact they were speculating about a potential covenant ally just made things uncomfortable. Though, not quite as badly as when Alice offers her grotesque interpretation of a joyful smile.

Instead, he turned his attention to the Gangrel. "It went well Priscus French. Thank you for the warm welcome. It's good to be settling into a new place." An imaginary hat is tipped to her. "Out of curiosity, what sort of doctor are you ma'am? Medical or something more academic?" Earnest interest is clear in his voice. Dominic had known few kindred who either kept their mortal knowledge sharp or pursued a degree in unlife. Most with that inquisitive of a mind always seemed wrapped up in whatever mysteries lay within the Ordo Dracul.

Or the Circle of the Crone if they were literature majors.

Ishani folds her arms and frowns at all the women as the conversation continues. Her thoughts drift back to when Fredderick was in office and things were much more....orderly. Very few people had the courage to speak to Fredderick in a harsh tone, nevermind attempting disrespect.

She smiles at them finally and nods, conceding to the inquiry. "Very well. I remember things falling in a much more orderly fashion. I am not criticizing Prince Clarke's rule mind you, I would be the last person here to do that, but let us say Fredderick was more demanding of his subjects. For example: had Bea spoken to his Seneschaul or his Sheriff in such a manner, her tongue would have been removed without warning. She also would have been presented to the Prince on the spot and most likely found a nice piece of wall behind his throne to decorate for more then an evening or two. Then, she would not have been allowed to heal her tongue for at least a month as a reminder to the other kindred of the city that one should not speak a rude word to anyone in his employ. Should the discretion's continue, her Priscus," she nods to Priscus French, "would suffer the same fate as her clan mate in whatever his creative mind could conjure. Keep in mind now, Freddericj was of the Dracul and could be very creative with his......reminders."

Ishani separates her hands as if to show a scale, palms up. "On the other side of that coin, due to Fredderick's nature, most of the kindred he had among his court could be as strict as he was. One had to survive the nights, after all, and if one is to do that, one must admit they are in Rome and act accordingly. I believe there were a few basements that had some small rooms in them used for training and punishment, should the need arise. Mostly held by Invictus or Dragon members. Then, of course there was the Crone. They had their own rather bloody methods of dealing with insubordinate children. What it comes down to is this. You would much rather deal with the situation yourself. Once Fredderick became involved, you could bet that if you held the Priscus seat, or the leadership of your covenant, you would be finding the lesson just as painful. Faced with that reality, kindred had a habit of dealing with infractions in house and swiftly. To those who committed the infractions, it was better to be disciplined by your clan or covenant leader then have the Prince notice your existence."

She shrugs, as if it is all a matter of fact and nothing more then another night in the Requiem. "Prince Clarke is painfully lenient at times and very strict at others. However, I do not think he approved of Fredderick's heavy hand and tries to do things differently. When one controls such a large Domain, one must try to keep a balance. Bea would either not remain here for very long, or she would manage to get herself ashed. One does not simply speak one's opinions unchecked in court, or with those of higher station without asking for permission. This is not simply an Invictus way of thinking. This is simply custom among the kindred to keep things civilized." She wanted to impart her opinion of the situation to both Reeve and Seneschaul, but doing so would violate the rule she just laid out. Instead, she smiles and waits. Maybe they will come to this conclusion on their own and tonight's incident will not go unchecked again.

Story time with Ishani Naetesh... this has proven more interesting than I'd ever thought.

"Or, just simple common courtesy." Vivian added to Ishani 's notes about keeping things civilized. "I think Prince Clarke has found a good balance of that, often letting some decide their own fates, or the fate of others. He seems to step in if or when it is warranted."

"I wonder, that could be the reason everyone had first seemed to staunch in their manner of speaking and address. It must have just trickled down through the years and continued as such." Which made the Invictus even more appealing for her now. To know that this was not always the way, but she'd gotten on well so far.

"Thank you, Lady Naetesh for providing some insight." She smiled to the Shadow admirably. So much could be learned if you stopped to ask the questions, it was a strange more didn't ask such things.

First thing you will notice about Ale is the abundance of her tattoos. They go from her face all the way to her feet, and not much is left bare. The second thing? Her strong Italian accent.

Hands clasp behind her back as she listens to Ishani, her words important and hitting deep.

Had she been to lenient with Bea? Should she have simply staked her and left it at that? But it wasn't that easy for the Savage. She didn't want to be seen a viscous savage quick to react with violence. She wasn't that Gangrel anymore.

"Thank you Lady Naetesh for the insight and background. It is most illuminating."
and it was. "I personally believe that something like Monomacy isn't something to be taken lightly. It is a serious event, and one not to be entered into without exhausting other means." she saw the use for such an event, but she also saw it as a least resort.

Nodding to Vivian, "I agree Miss York. I think he has found a good balance. But Court is a place to be civil, and I think some have forgotten the simple manners of being here. Prince Clarke has provided us a safe place to gather, and as such his Laws and expectations need to be upheld and respected."

Emma carefully listened to everyone present all the while watching for potential danger to enter the court. While it was a safe place, things could still happen and have many times.

To Alice: "I will speak with her tomorrow and see what I can do."

To Dominic: "I have a PhD. in Psychology. I look at social relationships and interactions both current and in the past. I usually work at archaeological digs trying to get an idea of how people related by the relics left behind."

To Ishani: "I am happy to say she is not one of my clan members. If she were, I would have been pulling her aside immediately to discuss the issue."

To the group: "I concur, the Prince does have a nice balance here in the domain. Even a few years ago when we were much busier, the balance was still there. Perhaps not as lenient. I remember a time when the punishment for not using a correct title was much harsher. But to help balance things out there were title lessons." Emma cringed a split second at the memories. "If once corrected about a title the individual continued to use it wrong they were sent for lessons. Then if the problem persisted they were punished." Emma paused in thought. "I do always wonder though if talking with Bea will be enough. She is pretty head strong and feels like she is being disrespected." Emma shrugged. "Well, all I can do is try."

Alice keeps quiet, feeling that she had said enough tonight, but just because she keeps to her silence doesn't mean she isn't giving the gathered Kindred her full attention. In fact the history of the Domain Ishani's regaling them with is absorbed quite avidly, wishing that she still had a written account that Lyssa could transcribe into braille for the Blind Doll.

When the conversation allows, Alice will nod in her own agreement of what her Coterie mates have said, feeling once more that nothing Alice could say would add anything more to the conversation.

Sorry for the weak post, my brain's feeling a little mushy :(

The more they centered on Bea the more uncomfortable Dominic felt. There simply wasn't a way for him to comment on her situation. He was far too new and lacked any of the local perspective to say one way or another. Instead, he stood quietly there as they discussed all the different ways Bea could be dealt with. The position of the group was understandable, but if Bea was the sole Carthian in the domain he hoped she wouldn't get ashed just yet.

A reprieve comes as Emma French discusses her profession. "It sounds like a fascinating field. And I'm sure, given our society, you've been able to make insightful observations about the nature of our condition." Even if she wasn't a therapist Dominic was certain that Dr. French had some keen views on the world of Kindred. "My own studies were in political history. I didn't do much digging, but there was always something newly discovered to read about the ideas of the past. The recently emerging field of political psychology has begun to stabilize a bit, and I've done a little foray into it. I'm not sure it would be to your interest, but I'd encourage you to read some of the works that have come out in the last few years."

Isahani nods to those gathered as they each gave their own views on what she'd said. Things were much more savage when the domain was still in it's infancy, but now things seemed to have smoothed out in a more civilized way of doing things. However, she wondered if maybe a flex of muscle was needed for certain individuals. She considered the possibility that Bea saw them as weak because of the constant theme of nice and tolerant that seemed to run rampant these days. If that was the case, Ishani could certainly understand. If a member of the Sanctum were to be standing among this gathering he or she would be cringing by now. They were monsters! Bloodsucking, demonic beasts that should be terrifying the local populace, not standing around making polite small talk. The idea almost makes her laugh.

"Keep in mind, we also had a rather sizable Lance presence back then too. They helped to guide and remind us of what we are. I believe Midnight Mass was held once a week and almost always right after Court. It is diffiiult to forget our natures when we have the constant reminder of a preaching Lance." Ishani considers Priscus French's words for a moment. "I do not think a lesson of titles would be appropriate here, considering Bea's allegiance. I think she is out numbered and is fully aware of it. It is hard to conform to someone else's way of doing things when everything you believe says it needs to be done another way. And that I do understand. However, when in Court, one conforms. Unless, of course, there are designs to remove the current monarch and replace him." Ishani smiles, showing teeth. "I hope that is not the case, though. I think the opposition would be overwhelming."
