Alice felt adrift, even as she knew she was encased in ice. She was miles away from the girl who freshly blind climbed a brick wall to reach the roof, who walked until her feet were bloody and she met the Sisters Three...she felt like a warped version of the girl who first came to Sacrament.
This wasn't good.
She was different. She had changed. She'd given herself to the Crone and Sworn herself to Astraeus and his family.
Only...
...she'd made a hash out of it.
She could only blame the Brood for so much. She hadn't opened the Necropolis to the Domain for the Winter Solstice. She could have. Should have. But didn't. It didn't matter that there wasn't a temple sequestered within. She should have...she needs to realize that Gilroy's gone. And it's long passed time for her to crave out her own place of worship within the withered deep kingdom.
Even if that took her farther, and farther away from the Stars, and the Winds...The Spring Equinox would be next and with another Acolyte within the Domain...it would be observed. At least by the two of them.
Forcing the Blood to move as she leaned against a lamp post or a street sign Alice waits for the Acolyte, Nic. Whom she should have questioned longer during the women's Acknowledgement, but trusted that the Gods had placed her to intercept Alice for a reason.
