(Heart of the Dragon) Unveiling of Me...

Said crashing just makes things worse? Lizard in her dream? Don’t think she knows who she works for but he might have left something in her mind.

The tinge of jealousy directed to those that could feel comfort in sorrow. Her suicidal thoughts. More and more Daniel was starting to think that while she was still a threat through her association with the Dragon, she might in fact need their help.

Need to get a dream promise.

Daniel did another quick search and then got a napkin to write down the web address. Then he got up and headed to the counter again.

“Uh, hey,” he said with quiet kindness “Sorry to bother you but I heard what you said. About the roof.” There was no judgement in his voice.

“I just wanted to say I know how that feels. Like you’re drowning and there’s no one who cares enough to help.” He felt a little guilty using her worst memory against her but if it led to healing in the end he was willing.

The Gravewight held out the napkin with a cool compassionate smile.

“I’m part of a support group. It helped me rest easier when things got bad. I promise, if you take a look, we’ll be there to help. Completely confidential.”

He held out the slip of absorbent paper with the silent promise that if she just took it he'd go away and leave her to her sorrow. All she had to do was look at the website he'd written down and the Wyrd would recognize the pledge. Mhairi and Morgan could will themselves to be part of it by their proximity.

Standard Dreaming pledge (CtL core p 187) would work fine unless you think it needs to be longer. If possible, Daniel would try to make it a vow but otherwise he'd swear on Contacts (Dig. Net.) for his Personal/Mortal Emblem.

The more Mhairi mentioned Pepper Potts, the more annoyed Monique seemed to get, though Ava's unexpected retreat jarred the executive from any sort of snappish response and she smoothed over her proverbially ruffled feathers by sipping at her drink as the adorkable young woman continued to talk.

But, then Daniel appeared again, sudden and portentous, just as his semi-transparent form might have suggested to those who could see it, and Monique stared at him as he spoke, first looking startled, and then abashed as he proffered the napkin to her. Slight color rose in her cheeks as she realized how unsubtle she'd been, though after some moments she just nodded and accepted the napkin. Pride had its place, but for someone that was drowning...it was the last thing to matter.

"Thank you," she said, simply, before finishing her drink. Then, after another moment, she attempted a small smile.

"I don't suppose your meetings typically involve blues and booze?"

The annoyance rising up from Monique sailed passed Mhairi as she blinked. Without the up swell of glamour, Mhairi wan't one to really get that she could effect people when she wasn't trying to. The searing star that forged her into what she is now saw to that. Which meant that most of the time, she overcompensated for what she now lacked, which sometimes lead to others finding her social stumbling amusing, but there were other times when it was just completely aggravating. Which began the circle anew, Mhairi not realizing what effect her actions and words did.

When Ava knocks back her drink and leaves, Mhairi frowns, blinking. Now what?

Blond!Daniel, that's what.

Avidly Mhairi watches as the Darkling works his magic. The mundane kind. Then the magical-magicky kind. Which the elemental wills herself to be apart of, so she could help. She liked helping. Freeing someone from their woes, or the Dragon's clutches...was more then enough of a reason for Mhairi.

After Monique's thank you and her question Mhairi chose to keep silent, lest she place her foot firmly into her mouth again.

Daniel returned the small smile with one of his own. There was a tug and feeling of connection as the pledge took hold.

"If that's what helps you," he said kindly. Everyone dealt with things differently. Self medication was sometimes the only thing that kept a person from diving off the deep end. Who was Daniel to judge.

"If you need someone to talk to, I'm here a lot." Even if he didn't drink himself, this was still the Winter stronghold.

Morgan kept quiet as well, but did include herself in the contract. She did make a mental note to give Daniel a high five and buy him a drink. She slipped her jacket back on and waited.

Meanwhile, she just focused her mental energies on linking to the Pledge Daniel had just crafted with Pepper Potts.

"Well, perhaps another time," Monique replied, tucking the napkin into her purse and rising from her seat. "I'll...visit your website, but I think I've stayed out late enough tonight. Thank you both for the chat. And, like I said, if you're interested in a job then I'll see to it for you," she finished, her eyes landing upon Mhairi.

"Here," the COO said, producing a card from her purse and sliding it over to the young woman. "You can email or drop by. I'll let my people know you might be coming. Now have a good night, the both of you."

With that, Monique walked down to the other end of the bar and hailed the bartender to pay her tab.

"Thank-ah-thank you So much! Yeah!." says Mhairi to Monique after she feels herself become apart of the pledge. Watching the women leave Mhairi's silver-blues find Blond!Daniel and then NotFurredMorgan and silently asks, Now what?

Then the elemental takes her apple and vodka ambrosia to Morgan's tabble so she could actually ask. Because dealing with the RL Pepper Potts, and her Dragon boss. Mhairi didn't want to have any misunderstandings.

Morgan nods to Mhairi upon her arrival. "Club business? Tis worth delaying until certain ears," her eyes dart towards Monique as she lowered her voice: "shant, heh, hear us speak. Tis folly to chat of folk when the folk art present, yes?"

She leaned back and rolled her neck, audibly popping it. "Best to await full, heh, group a'fore a discourse upon planning club events, heh, too, heh."

The Lady Scrivener looked around for the blonde version of Daniel Leto, eyes tracking him. She tried to mentally will his swift return, mostly in hopes that the planning process didn't start with Morgan telling Mhairi: "I really want you to tell me if my plans sounds stupid so we don't do it."

Before long, Monique's card was run, the contract was signed, and she was off. Without, even, a look back at those she'd spoken with.
