Aeneas blithely went and purloined chips and beer.

It was not a good idea.

Turning back to the group, he saw Bridger hammering away at the bound prey. Hammering away at the bound prey!

The Irraka stood stock still, then shook. His leering smile melted into a parody of an "O" shop and be took a step back. This was not the work of Hunters. This was not the work of Forsaken; the honourable children of Grandfather Wolf who claimed his mantle from his dying fingers because of Need. The Shartha did this! Bad spirits did this! Zi'ir did this!

He looked on with sick fascination.

    He whined.

    He turned away.

    He looked back.

He deflated and shrank back towards the kitchen, hand almost unconsciously seeking the biggest knife iron fang he could find.

He tried to speak but all that bubbled from his mouth was a growl.

Aeneas Harmony will be dropping to 5. He will be picking up a Derangement. I'm thinking Avoidance at this point but it may change, depending on what happens next. I has a plan DrDog

Matthew meets the Alpha's eyes, unflinching, unbeaten, unbroken. He can sense nothing from the human before him.

One long, sharp, knife in hand (purloined from the kitchenette) the Irraka stalks with a sudden and renewed vigour toward the bound man. He gives Chuck and Bridger accusatory, wounded looks and turns with a snarl toward the Matthew. Toward the hunter, the Meninna offers a look at once reverential and sad, like the look of one gives to a sacrifice.

If the other wolves do not move aside quickly enough, he shoves them.

"We hunt. We ain't no killers and we ain't cat beasts that do it fer tha' thrill. Mmm'kay?" His words started soft but the emotion oozed and burned in his throat. By the end he was barking.

He did not dishonour his prey by hiding the knife.

He knealt, eyes wild and twitching with his customary smile becoming something quite saintly.

"Who hunts with ye? You give me a name, son, so ah can do this thing raight. Please!" The last word throbbed with all the emotion of a soul in torment. Aeneas quivered with the effort of suppressing his energy, not that it was helping. The emotional wound was still still raw and his body was reacting to it - he was bulking up while he spoke and quite unconscious to that fact.
