    Drip, drip, drip...

It was endless as Crowley and Falstaff came out of their drug-induced sleeps. Their bodies were sore and cold; they were lying on cheap mattresses there in the completely dark room in which they found themselves chained. Thick, iron manacles shackled them on short leashes from their bound wrists to walls, a lock holding each wrist in place. All told, they could move a couple of uncomfortable, restrictive meters.

    Free Council, indeed.

There were other sounds, too. A squeak of a rat. The whipping of wind from somewhere. The sounds of murmuring from far away.

Where it was all coming from was unclear, as there were no windows that they could see. In fact, they couldn't see a damn thing, so dark was it. To top it all off? They were naked, and strangely clean, like at some point during their torpor they had been scrubbed down. Their bodies smelled... like lotion. Oils. Unguents.

Thankfully, in their initial rolling around, they each were able to find a thin blanket. Really, it was more of a sheet than anything warm.

Falstaff's vision returns in a blur: naked, iron wrist chains, cheap mattresses. He quickly deduces that he's been sold to a donkey show in Tijuana. It's then he realizes he's not alone. He sees . . . it looks like Crowley, only . . . naked. Doesn't seem like he's awake yet--thank, Fate. Maybe Falstaff can manage to find and kill that rat, skin it with his teeth, and use the pelt to cover his nipples before . . . too late.

"Heya, Crowley." Falstaff forces a laugh. "Shrinkage," he explains. Maybe he ought to change the subject. "Guessing you didn't listen when your mom told you not to get into vans with strangers?"

Falstaff presses his ear to the wall, tries to make out the murmuring.

One question keeps nagging at him: why is he so damned moisturized and exfoliated? If he doesn't die, he'll have to change his Mage-name to "Cover Girl."

Brownlee - It's pitch black. Please read the posts more carefully. Wits+Composure-5 to see another person there in the darkness.

Falstaff sees in the darkness beyond a shadow that looks like a person lying on a mattress or something. He's not alone in the room. He can't make out anything in particular through the cold, stoney wall.

Crowley stirs. Slowly. Painfully. Cognitive dissonance between the aches and pains of his enforced confinement and his feeling of slick cleanliness. Cold air on naked skin.

"What the fuck, Su? You had your ritual fun on Halloween..." he mumbles, still shaking the cobwebs from his face.

The darkness hits him in the face. The situation slowly dawns. Her curses. Grumbles. Tests his bonds. He finds that he is alone and pretty well restrained. The chains did not budge. They chafe against his soft skin. "Oh come on!"

Squatting, he gropes blindly around his immediate vicinity. Its an action that allows him to think as much as it gives him an impression of his immediate surroundings. One can't go building an imago without some notion of one's environment...

That's a voice he'd heard before, even if he doesn't recognize the form. It's selfish, the relief he feels at having a friend with him. "Don't grope too far," he says, keeping his voice to a whisper. "You might end up with a fist full of something you don't want." There's sorrow in his voice, tinged with happiness. "It's your favorite Fool. You hurt at all?" He does his best to assess the situation, while informing his fellow Libertine of what he knew. "Guy in a van's who got me. Now I'm naked and chained to the wall." That about summarizes it. He strains his hearing, ear against the wall; he was sure he'd heard some murmurring before. Maybe Fluke, Ermac, and the rest of them had adjoining cells?

There is a pause. Some scuffling as Crowley tries - unsuccessfully - to move around.

"Falstaff? What the fuck? Guy in a... Oh Shit! Yeah. They got me too. Chained as well. This guy? He have a lady friend? And no. Not hurt. Embarrassed, maybe..."

The more he spoke the more the Libertine began to work his mind. He listened attentively to what his cell-mate (oh the humanity!) would say. Quietly he whispered: sang a song of old to frame his imago as he stretched out the his senses so they could do the work his eyes could not...

Crowley will attempt to cast an Improvised Spatial Map spell upon himself. Going by the text on Core Mage, p233 its probably appropriate at this point. He uses High Speech. If I'm right, the spell should reduce his modifier to -1?

"Nope, my guy was single; probably had something to do with his fondness for tranquilizers." He hears Crowley moving around, coming up with answers to present problems. He decides it's best he not relax until they're clear of this whole thing . . . and clothed and unchained.

Falstaff tries sliding his lotion-ed hand through the manacles. Maybe if it's loose enough, he can disjoint his thumb--never fun--and slip the iron.

Worst. Idea. Ever. It had been worth a try, he supposes. He hears Crowley utter high speech and wonders if there's a way he can hide beneath his mattress.

Crowley's spell washes out from him, showing him the room he is in and even a little bit beyond out into the hallway, an Awakened spatial sonar like the device Batman used at the end of the Dark Knight to see everything by bouncing cell phone signals off everything. He perceives Falstaff, the smoothness of his balding head and the roundness of his body, the mattress, the door -- and a little crevice beneath his own mattress. It's small, a little hole that had been scratched, but there's something in there...

As well, someone was sitting out in the hallway.

Then, the spell faded away, its transitory nature short-term. Crowley will need to cast with a longer duration if he wants to keep the Map going.

Falstaff hears it; the murmuring of a person talking on a cellular telephone. "The Mistress prepared them earlier..."

PER-1 with Spatial Map makes sense to me for finding objects and things.

"And I forgot to carry the y," Crowley muttered as his spell - and vision - crumbled. Directing his voice once more to Falstaff, he continued. "I think we have company. At least one more body outside this door. By the sounds of it, you are shackled up too. Okay then: options. I think I could run four dimensional maths in my head and hope to hell my Lovecraftian geometry pays off. Can you do the same? Or trust to fate. I have a feeling we can still do basic working in here... for the moment."

After that he was humming quietly again, playing with the sounds as he imagine playing with the axis points of a 3D perspective. He had an imago forming in his mind: a play on three dimensions, just like he was pottering around on a computer graphics program - he imagines dragging one of the axes to an extreme; he tried to slip his wrist between the cracks...

He'd worry about his lack of vision once he had his hands free.

Crowley makes an improvised Space 2 casting. Given it takes Space 2 to open a scrying portal, which I think is described as being big enough to slip a hand through, I believe it would be safe to assume the Acanthus could employ a similar effect to slide out of, or through, his bonds.
