Mekhet Meeting: July 2013

[Catherine Keyes]

Catherine nodded at the Keeper before sliding into the room and taking on of the free seats, hoping she hadn’t just sat on the Herald. She nodded her thanks to Teodor Raluca for the back up that she had requested of those present.

It was odd knowing that your family responded primarily with hiding in situations like that.

[Martha Villiers]

Martha decides to wait until the doorway is free from obstructions and make her way out there...then, once out of sight, de-cloak and then quietly make her way back to the room via the newly free doorway...as if she'd somehow made it outside.

It was an odd precaution, but one she felt required.

Before returning to the meeting she took the chance to reply to Dillon to pacify his anxiety and then, now visible, she limped into the chamber and smiled. "Ah...I am pleased to see everyone is here. A small commotion, but now, I see, one swiftly dealt with. Perhaps we may see him again."

Gripping at her cane she limped over to the table and sat down. Smiling at all present and wondering if Witch-Brady would dare show her treacherous face.

"Yes, yes..." was the only worthwhile contribution from Aïleen to Keeper Sage's suggestion they resumed the meeting. She replied to Teodor's greetings by one of her own, but eyed the man a wee bit longer than appropriate, and her gaze seemed to carry some focus. It was only when Herald Villiers re-appeared that she apparently relaxed, and sat back in a chair around the table."Perhaps, yes." Her tone didn't sound enthusiastic, for those close enough to even hear she had voiced a reply.

Martha takes a seat at the end of the table. Carefully resting her cane on the table top as she peers over the tops of her spectacles to examine those at the meeting.

"Well, we shall bring the meeting to order..." Martha smiles and tries to gather those still in attendance.

"There is but one item on the agenda: the selection of a new Priscus."

There's a happy smile as she surveys the faces of those present. Martha is trying to guess...probably for her own amusement...who might select whom.

"I can see so many who would meet the high standard required. Has anyone a suggestion or nomination to make?"

Daniel had taken a seat not long after everyone else, Apparently comfortable with the amount of calming the hell down everyone's managed.

Sitting quietly as everyone else did what they were doing, Daniel raised his eyebrows at the first item. He hadn't been here for long at all, the only other Mekhet he knew in passing being Catherine. Daniel knew any suggestion he might've made would be terribly uninformed. Not to mention that he didn't even know the names of most people here even if he wanted to nominate someone.

No, he'd remain quiet while the others did what they did.

Catherine was glad that there was finally some sort of motion to the meeting, though she couldn’t help notice that Regent Brady was missing. It was just a little odd to not see the redhead sitting quietly off to the side purely observing.

Of course, the big news comes out first...well, the fact that they would have to vote on a new priscus -- was that the Dracul way? A vote?

It still seemed rather Carthian.

She looked over at Daniel the picture in her mind of where he would place a vote if he had one.

There were three that stood out fairly well to Catherine, and one that was a bit more ‘in the shadows’. But that moral dilemma of what had happened at the Night of the Three Prisci was just too predominant in her head.

“If it would not be taken incorrectly, I nominate myself.”

Even Connor Greyson had said that she was on his list of choices, even if he did revoke that thought.

Daniella listens as Martha brings the meeting to order, and debates her options. She wanted to step forward and put her name out there for the position, she had been in the Domain for quite sometime, and had served the Domain.

Standing, "I would like to nominate myself for the position." she said, looking around the table to those gathered before sitting back down.

[Aileen McFarlane]

Obviously, Aïleen wasn't fit to be the voice of the Clan. She looked around her at the present, and knew who she would vote for, should she choose to submit to the election. In the meantime, she shook her head in silent denegation. 'No nomination from me' was the obvious meaning.
