Give me a [Stamina + Str] roll to try and pull her free
Dark Eyes tore free of the tree, splintering the wood that was holding her fast. Deep red sap ran freely down the tree, and onto her limbs. It looked like nothing so much as rivulets of blood against her skin, save for it's extra sticky consistency. The pulsing light in the tree flashed crimson.
Toren had never been one to sympathize for plant-life, but he had the distinct feeling the oozing red and the likewise color shift of the light were cause for concern. He remembered the message that had been scrawled out for him. Within the grasp of Night...okay so inside the shadow thing was a doorway maybe? Then why did it try to suck Dark Eyes into the tree? Maybe the darkness and the tree were one in the same.
Toren lay Dark Eyes on the grass carefully before looking over the tree again and peering up into the branches at the source of the red eerie light. Had he hurt it? The tree looked sort of hurt now with the red Dark-Eyes shaped wound cut into it. Toren pressed his hand against a bare surface of bark to try to see if it were pliable to pass through, but suspected it may not be. Maybe to enter the door they had to be Entrapped in Night's Grasp. It seemed like a leap of faith now that they weren't being attacked by it.
The light paled as Toren put his hand against hte tree. It's solid beneath his fingers, smooth despite it's age. While he's touching the tree, a shadow snaked out of the trunk and grabbed a squirrel from one of the branches, pulling it inside where it vanished.
"Weird," said Toren, quirking an eyebrow at the vanishing squirrel. For his next examination he made use of his shadow sculpting again to try and pull shadows cast by the overhead branches onto his hand and trying again to press against the bark, testing his theory.Shadow Sculpting Again, 1sux
Once Toren's hand is encased in shadows, it's pulled into the bark with little resistance. He can feel something crawling against his hand.
It's a [Wits + Survival - 3] roll to uncover more information about what's on his hand.
Toren's eyes widen and a smile creeps across his lips at the success, and yet as he begins to feel around he can sense something moving beneath the surface. What is that...is it...? He racked his brains for something that could make sense. Was it the shadow thing or something naturally occurring?Examination, 2suxx
The articulated tickling felt like some sort of arachnid, probably a spider. Unfortunately his hand is now stuck inside.
Oooookay, bad idea, bad idea! Toren pulled back his arm hard, using a foot to brace against the tree and pushed.Pull! 3suxx
