John stays poker faced as Lance is pretty much handed the title of Perfect. John was not a praying man, but at the moment he have a silent prayer that Lance would take his Job seriously, rather than use it as some sort of means to boost him up in kindred society and become some sort of tyrant.

"Yes indeed."

John agrees with Kaiden on the "don't fuck it up" part. He addresses both men and the recorder Lance had put on the table.

"So it is decided,let the record show that Lance Rayner will now be the leader of our organization, may his term be long and prosperous."

John turns to Lance a warm smile is given to the new Perfect,

"Congratulations."

John was curious as to what Lance's next move would be now that he was "first among equals." Would he appoint a Myrmidon? did he have any sort of Plan that he wanted to put before the Covenant?

Lance smiles and sits up a little straighter as he adjusts his sleeves. "Thank you both. This position is one of both leadership and organization. It's my job to make sure we are taken care of when problems arise. If either of you need assistance contact me and I will do my best to help you. That being said, I can't manage that without both of your help, if we aren't in this together we'll fall separately. As long as you both are willing to go to bat for me, I'll go to the wall for you."

"The way I see it, we need two things. The respect of our peers and a portfolio of assets that we can collectively bring to the table. I believe that we should collectively work to forge meaningful relationships between members in other organizations. This serves a twofold purpose - We can put a face to our collective so we aren't dismissed by those we interact with as easily and we can tailor our asset growth to get the most support from others. Silver, Grigoriev and Hartman's groups all traditionally have politics taking a second seat to their primary goals. However they can't afford to ignore them completely, but if we trade support for support with them after finding out what they need, we'll be in a better position practically speaking." Lance pauses and considers his partners. "Now I won't force either of you to work on anything you are unwilling to work on. I'm courting Silver's crowd and I'm planning on joining his winter festival... thing. If either of you are willing to coordinate with me on the other groups or have other plans or views for the future and our place on it, let's look at them now."

"Okay, a few key points."

Kaiden sits up straight and leans forward.

"Point one. We can't be friends with everyone. Period. It is logistically impossible If we're going to pick allies, we're going to need to do so carefully. If you want to be extremly covert about it, that's one thing. But sleeping in too many beds will come back to hurt us in the long run. That said, I plan on attending the Acolyte's..

At this point Lance interrupts, leaning forward. "Mister Kesom we are in a public place place. Watch what you say, there are terms you are used to using that are inappropriate for this venue." Words like vampire and kindred and kine and referring to the Covenants by name. Surely he understood that the kine on the boat had ears and might overhear them?

John listens to Both Lance and Kaiden. Lance's focus seemed to be that of appealing to Kindred socity and gaining kindred suport and Kaiden seemed to be coming fro mthe position that called for more Mortal interaction. John liked both of these ideas. he reolizes that this may have not been the best place to have this conversation but by god it was better than using a room in the Avalon again.

"I agree with Kaiden, that we should not be so eager to show our hand, However we should not be an island, We should work on gathering our own resources, while at the same time we improve our public image with the other organizations and showing to a degree that we are useful to society while not going over board, let us be willing to help but not over eager."

John leans back in his chair,

"As for me, Mr. Hartman and I seem to agree on many points when I spoke to him a couple of gatherings ago. I am sure that we and Mr. Hartman's organization will get along well, and I feel that we and them have mutual goals and I will try to expand upon that."

John didn't want to bring Martha into this, She and him were friends on a personal level and he didn't want to treat her as if she were some "political asset."

"Also Mister Kesom, I like where you are coming from about finding a better place where we can talk business and I will help you invest in that endeavor."

John pauses for a moment taking a much more serious tone,

"There is one more point I would like to make, I disagree with Mr. Rayner that we aren’t in a tricky situation, I have been talking to people of other organizations, and when ever our organization comes up in conversation they begin to worry. It is clear that we have a history that makes the powers that be watch us very carefully this makes other organizations seem to want to shy away from us. If we move to aggressively and to hastily we might find ourselves in a tough situation."

John knew that the Prince was not a fan of Carthians, and that everyone that John talked to often make a point of informing him that they "Hoped that the Movement would succeed in a way that is not disruptive." John didn't have a PR background to see, that the Domain worried when the Carthians began to pick up momentum.

Lance looked at Kaiden. "Mister Mclean and Miss Lefleur set this up. It is a reminder of the fact that we are more than just the collection of incompetents, fit only to meet in dingy hotel rooms and behind clubs at the sufferance of others. That said, yes, we do need a dedicated meeting area. Without permission from the proper authorities there's only so much we can legally manage* when it comes to a home or business, please keep that in mind if you are going to work together."

"Now, when it comes to letting everyone know what we can do for them, I'm not advocating whoring ourselves out to the highest bidder. I'm counciling that we keep in mind what the rest of our peers want when building our own networks so we can use them to the best effect when we need to. If the rest of our peers think of us as individuals you can go to help for instead of a collection of buffoons, we'll have more chances to capitalize on opportunities for a better payoff. Our assets don't do shit for us if we never use them. Think of connecting with people as an investment." He spreads his hands in front of him. "Like I said, I'm not going to try and order you guys to do something right now, there's no base for that. I'm trying to coordinate things so that we can work together to get more than we could individually. When it comes to where I'm focusing my attentions currently, I know some names of people in the communications, quasi-legal, medical industries. It's currently not much, but I'm nurturing what I've got."

When Mclean brings up people worrying about the Movement he has to suppress rolling his eyes. He doesn't do a very good job of it though. "Look, let's be frank here Mclean. We are ideologically opposed to the oldest, most powerful and most established faction in the city. They have something that's as near as to a monopoly as you can have in a city this size without actual, brutal ideological oppression. We've been less successful than half the people out there," He points out the window, to the lights of the city. "That haven't joined a faction, who've remained fucking independent. And the system right now works. The domestic existence here is practically a Utopia compared to the shit that went on in San Fransisco. People aren't afraid of our history, they're afraid we're going to get our shit together and then do something moronic to destabilize the domestic situation here somehow." He looks at both the vampires. "We aren't going to do anything like that, right?"

A charitable listener might, on a windy day when distracted by something, mistake that statement for a question.

John listens, it was good to see that Lance and he were (for once) exactly on the same page. despite Lance's condescending attributed.

John nods a playful smile forms on his lips,

"I like this Plan, work on our expanding our own areas of influence, helping each other out as a group when we don't have the influence, and not do rash and stupid things. I say lets go for it."
