Clean up Crew: Sniper House

Much as her ally before Skye leaves the seemingly inevitable marks of passage through the overgrown weeds and plants up to the door. Still all it proves is someone was here. Someones, Two distinct someone's if the person who took notice was skilled in tracking. The door itself looks pretty standard a good shoulder barge or two would force it open if it was closed, which it isn't only on the latch given Skye made efforts to return to roughly the same position as it started the night in.

A perception check -3 for darkness, unless she allows the light to spill out to check for barricade-able debris.

Witch having noticed the the detector/camera and unaware of skyes spells does the cooperative thing. Also what is best for secrecy and holds out an arm to stop Skye from triggering the device while drawing the arrows attention to it. That such a device is present of course links it in some small way to the tech filled hunters house across the street, what are the odds that a house that should be empty has such a thing set up and active otherwise?

Skye seemed focused on the door but at least hadn't pushed past to trigger the motion detector. Turning off the nightlight feature of her phone, she tucked it away. Rather than trying to slip past the tech she had an idea just to get it out of the picture.

But she needed to see better first.

Eyeing the detector Witch had been mentioning after having finished investigating the door, and making sure to keep her voice low.
”If it sends live images I can do nothing that wont draw attention, otherwise I can move it, destroy it, or see about cutting its power.” Depending how it was fastened or designed power wise. ”It should not be able to pick up my presence so approaching it should be safe for me but I would need to use a light to look it over properly.”

Witch releases the mana from her pattern to draw down the arcana of forces through the watchtower of the lead coin and in doing so banishes the hold the dark has over her senses allowing clearer and easier perception. She can now see that yes indeed the device is fixed to the wall but no screws or nails can be seen instead it seems to be held on by something on its back face, double sided stick pad maybe? could it be magnetic? Either way ripping from the wall would take effort but is clearly possible, a hint perhaps it was intended to be retrieved.

Skye casts her own awareness around for something to barricade the door, now like most houses iron bars and random pieces of heavy duty wood are not available she does however alight upon upon an old coat stand that if wedged diagonally into the door frame could provide a bit of extra resistance.

"I don't think it's live. I think it triggers to record anyone going up the stairs. It's attached to the wall, but not with bolts or screws. Maybe something that can allow it to be removed and put back up without need of tools. If you can kill it, then we can move on without worry of our image being captured."

She wasn't sure how well her unlocking trick worked on less ... jointed elements such as double sided sticky tape. If Skye was able to just take it down rather than wasting time trying and failing with spells, she was game.

Checking over the coat stand, if that was all they had to worry about so were they safe enough to not have much to worry about.
”Let me see if we can do it in a manner where it can also be undone, keep free of its range.” Taking out her phone and lighting it downward whilst walking over to the side of the device, whisking the phone away and taking out a small flashlight. Covering the side before lighting it up to make sure and spill as little light as possible away from where her eyes were looking.

Starting with simply looking for a power button to turn the thing off, looking to see if it is connected to anything or just seems to be running on batteries, and lastly attempting get her fingers in underneath it to see if she can get a proper grip to be able to rip it down should cutting its power not prove viable.

Using a combination of her lights and magically enforced invisibility to machines Skye is able to move up on the device and determine that no, now power leads or button are available from the external side of the device it is evidently battery powered, getting the grip is indeed possible with a mighty stretch of the arrow short frame the only reason this doesn't trigger the device is because of her own magically enforced will making her invisible to machines.

As ripping it down is indeed the only ways and means to access its power that will risk moving the device the motion of which could accidentally cause it to turn on an d capture, well something. Unless the two have the ways and means between to the stop the electrical current within from being able to power the device.

"Any luck?" If she herself could get to the camera she had her tried and true methodology of matter manipulation, but getting to the camera and detector was key. If Skye wasn't able to do anything, Witch was going to have to try to get more creative to allow her access to the stairs.

”No gonna have to rip it down.” Putting the flashlight down and starting to remove her long sleeved shirt, making sure to place herself to the side of the device, double folding the shirt before tucking it around the device best as possible to block the camera angle from being able to pick up as much light as she could, and starting to try and yank it off the wall whilst making certain to move it away from her compatriot, not wanting there to be any chance of accidentally helping her get captured on it for whatever reason. Certain something might get stuck on it but hey as long as they werent seen.

Covering the sensor Skye is plenty strong enough to rip from its plate with ease, the back plate however is attacked with fiddly little screws that will need to be overcome if the battery compartment is to be opened. Or of course magic can be used as substitute for a good many things.
