    With the agreement in place the mages gathered in Witch's part of the shop, all of which is closed for the sake of this meeting secretive and important as it is. The tension in the room still palpable, the weight of what they need to to accomplish settled oppressive on their shoulders. Yet if successful if this creature that should have never been is destroyed what a blow, a small singular blow, but a blow none the less to the forces of the abyss it would be. An actual tangible moment of successfully striking back against the forces that seek to undo them. If the serve, if their souls remain their own, if they are not damaged or corrupted or influenced by the terrible and dark powers of the abyss nightmare that plagues the stories of awakened history like an ever present shadow, the all to real bogey man.

    As Witch had the knife and Aurora had the power and confidence in her power to make it happen Chambers had down the negotiating, got them onto a page they could all work from in setting about this frankly soul shaking task. "I can not be sure what comes next but before we begin in earnest if there are any preparations any of us wish to make. I would suggest now is the time." This was not something to rush into blindly or without ever possible considered precaution they could take. What they would soon embark upon was to tangle with a power that had brought many mages low and worse.

    The warmth of a campfire, shadows softening at their edges, the smell of woodsmoke in the air.

    When vulgar, it's the heat of a pyre, the air darkening with ash, the smell of burning flesh.

    The sweet, fragrant smells of roses mixed with lilacs emanate from her as she casts magic. The scent intensifies, bordering on intoxicating, when Life magic is cast. When Aurora casts Vulgar magic, the scent takes a nasty turn, to the putrid, nauseating odor of a rotting corpse. The stronger the magic, the more those around want to retch at the smell.

    His sixth sense fired in rapid succession even as the glyphs of gold appeared within his sight, already ritual cast and upheld among the series of his other cloaked spells. This was then the precipice moment, as there more he could do? Likely, would it be helpful? That was unknown and it could only serve to burn precious and limited resources if it was obsolete. Making the split decision to not cast any more himself instead he holds out the watch maker loupoe to Aurora. "As you know most of spirits between, you know best what to look for, if you do perform scrutiny look through this when you do." The innocuous eye piece did not give off any kind of magic or alarm.

    For transparency the loupe has a diamond lens installed which when used to view things with the scrutiny action adds +3 to the dice pool as an equipment bonus

    Witch nodded, "More that it communicated with me." She had no qualms about her investigating the knife and the entity within, but she didn't want even the hint of the idea in anyone's mind that she had reached out to talk to it of her own volition.

    "When the knife was retrieved, it mentioned wanting to go back. I would not be surprised if it again reaches out during our work. Additionally there is a layer of complication in regards to a spell laid on the knife itself."

    "Let me back up a step maybe. The knife was found at the travelling wax museum. It was on a display mannequin and we took it with us. An act that was not appreciated by the leader of the museum." A wry twist of her lips. Not appreciated was perhaps an understatement.

    "I was able to do some preliminary research on the knife. It houses the entity, bound somehow I believe. But on top of the knife is an obfuscating ... miasma."

    "This is not due to the Acamoth. It's something separate. Something designed to obfuscate or hide. I don't know if it was meant to do this on the knife, the entity inside, or just to fuck with those in the area."

    Was the miasma put in place to keep the knife and it's bound companion secret? And if so did that mean the spell was failing? Or was it just meant to spread the murk around in general. Keeping other things hidden? She wasn't sure they would ever know the answer. Or if it even mattered the original purpose.

    "It makes looking at the true problem we have ... difficult. But I was able to get some insight into it. The miasma is Abyssal as well, or the glyph creating it is tainted with it. It's primarily of Mind arcana but has Spirit and Prime as well." A revelation of partly why she came seeking help. Mind. Spirit. Arcana that was not at all within her grasp.

    "It wasn't designed to end, and it wasn't done by someone weak and it itself is strong."

    Pausing to take a breath, she looked to the other two, waiting for any questions.
