"Besides, if we added Bans, nobody would be able to use the Lorehouse but us. Isn't the goal to make it available to the entire Consilium?" Thirteen shrugged, "I imagine we'd need to set up some sort of appointment system, so one of us can escort anyone who compensates us for use of the Lorehouse."

The GoV was certainly going to look askance at whatever the Libertines do. "One Guardian. There's just Witch. Been that way since Winter vanished a year ago."

She shook her head at Zhu, "Nae, Sanctus Trinitas is a separate threat. They're not allied with San Francisco, as far as we know."

The Acanthus sighed, "Where do I even start? Basically, the Golden Consilium of San Francisco is tryin' to annex us. They say the original River City Consilium was a colony or outpost of theirs, and that they have a legal claim over the city. Since the previous River City Consilium has had too many veil breaches and questionable behavior over the years, they believe we need... supervision." She snorted derisively. "There's a cabal of the Goldies holed up in a place called the Zinfandel Estates. It's a posh suburban development, uncomfortably close to here. They're claimin' to be the official Consilium of Sacramento. I strongly recommend stayin' out of Zinfandel, as things have recently gotten, uh, messy."

"And why is thaaaaat?" Jinx seemed to be teasing her.

The Enchantress tossed a glare at the crow before she answered, "Because myself and Skye - one of our Arrows - went there and met with the Goldies, and then a Seer showed up and violence broke out and one of the Goldies went off the rails and stabbed Skye. So, yeah. Messy."

[Zhu Wu]

Zhu Wu stage whispers to the bird, "Ooh, you could have let her keep it quiet," while he waits for the Mastigos to offer any information that he might have.

When the quiet stretches out he addresses the Enchantress instead of her familiar, "I'll remember the area. I suppose main roads are ok but no detours into side streets or stopping. I trust Skye was not gravely hurt."

He does a quick count on his fingers and comes up with four known threats but then merely shakes his head before grinning a little. "Each time you name a new threat it seems to be even more imminent! Perhaps a change of topic is needed. We've mentioned starting a Scriptorum and a Lorehouse. Are there other resources we want to share within the Free Council?

He continues, "Since it hasn't come up so far my guess is that there are no shared Hallows. Which makes sense with no cabals. Sharing with the entire Consillium would be awkward. I suspect that isn't something that we want to think about right now but I'll put myself out as not opposed to the idea at least after I get settled and get to know the various people," his glance includes both other FC members but a wave implies the rest of the mages with access to the Circle of Creation, "a little better."

Sorry for the break but what is the general site etiquette about information in closed, public threads? I don't want anyone to have to retype a full summary of the Zinfandel affair but how much can be assumed is off screen talk that covers the details? Or is it purely you know what is directly said in threads you are in?

"Naw, where's the fun in that?" the crow said totally innocently.

Ignoring her familiar's antics for the moment, Thirteen looked at Zhu, "Just go around it if you need to somewhere past it. It's a suburban development. The main roads don't even go through it." She gave a small shrug. "It wasn't a lethal wound. And she's Thyrsus. She'll be fine."

"A Hallow in here would be a ways off, aye." The Acanthus' brown eyes roamed around the cathedral chambers, her voice echoing a little in the large space. "Better to focus on the Lorehouse first."

Her attention returned to the Obrimos, "Is there anything you want to know about the other Orders? I can do a quick rundown of who they are, if that'd help."

The Zinfandel scene is in continuity now, but you can't rely on 'off-screen talk' to know anything. Only characters who were there can relay details about it.

[Salem]

"A bit of paranoia never hurt nobody.." he comments with a small chuckle. Paranoia keeps you warm.

He gives a nod in agreement that the wards and protections here are pretty strong. He could, theoretically, make his own wards within the other wards but it would likely be viewed with hostility from the Diamond Orders so it's probably best to let that subject rest.

He's quiet as he listens about the other new threat to their safety, giving a small shake of his head. That thought of not having returned itches at the back of his mind but is squashed down when the thought of not knowing about the dangers is worse.

A communal Hallow for the Free Council would certainly be welcomed, if possible. "I can start working on the clean up here today and we can start planning the Lorehouse and Scriptorium, getting materials together. Is there anything you want to focus that on or just general? Do we want books?" he almost smirks at the possibility. "Or a computer set up?"

[Zhu Wu]

Does that even need a response? “I suppose we might need some storage for books to hold things that are too fragile to digitize but a local server is the way to go as long as we keep it off the internet.” A pause for thought. Various plans related to setting up a sanctum are weighted against the obvious benefit that shared resources can offer. “I’m fairly tapped out from getting settled into town so it might be a month or so before I can contribute all that much."

“I feel I’m meeting people fairly well. There are a couple of people who are harder to read but unless there is an underlying animosity towards the FC I think I’m ok.”

[Thirteen]

"Books are great. Computers are great. All media is acceptable. We shouldn't turn up our noses at any data. Information is information." The Enchantress nodded, "Look at magazines, CDs, comic books, DVDs, VHS tapes, ancient scrolls. The computers don't need to be cutting edge, either. The Lorehouse back home had this old PC from the '80s, right alongside modern laptops. They kept it runnin' proper with Forces and Matter."

"Bookshelves, for certain. Some desks for the computers." She glanced around at the vaulted chamber again. "With some Prime magic, we can set up a node here to provide unlimited free power for all the electronics we want. We should keep the system off the internet, though. A closed system to avoid hackers."

The Highlander looked at the Obrimos and nodded again, "Okay, then." That was less she had to talk about. "Anything else you do want to know?"

[Zhu Wu]

Sips of the now cold coffee and nods accompany Thirteen’s list of improvements although there is a muttering about servers being cheap and why not keep up with the times when stuff from the 80s is mentioned. The Node brings the Obrimos’s to a stop, “I had decided that either there was already a Node here powering the Circle or there was no crossing of ley lines near enough to create a Node. Otherwise someone should have put one in years ago! I’ll look into it after the meeting and create one if possible.”


The matter of his Sanctum makes him continue. A node would be perfect but even a position on a ley line where other smaller lines might be able to be moved into place would be wonderful. “I’ve been wanting to map out the local ley lines anyway. Starting with the area right around the Circle makes sense.” He looks at the Mastigos, “I’d love to be able to do what you are doing with your perception but I don’t know any Space magic so it comes down to cruising along with GPS and a touch of Knowing ” He shifts his attention between the two others, “Of course there have been mages in Sacramento for ages. Is there a map already?”

[Salem]

He gives a nod to his fellow Libertines, glancing down at his watch as it chirps at him. "Okay. Sorry to do this, but I need to head out. I will get started on getting things cleared up here in the next couple of days and then see about setting up some shelves and a desk or two." he says, standing up and glancing around the area again.

He glances to the two. "Let me know if anything else comes up. You have my contact info," he says, before turning and heading out, grumbling to himself as he pulls out his phone to confirm what his watch had just told him.

OOC: Thanks for the lovely scene! Sorry about the pauses. Heading out on my trip today so Salem is heading out of this scene.

Thirteen pointed at Zhu Wu and nodded when he volunteered to check into a potential node, "Grand! Havin' a Thuerge around is already payin' off!"

"Mapping ley lines? Didn't we already do that?" the crow spoke up curiously.

"We participated in the project," she answered her familiar before looking back to the Obrimos, "The Consilium is already engaged in mappin' out the city's ley lines. It's a big to-do. Salem and I mapped the flea markets last month. If you wanna join in, another expedition will be brought up in the near future." She sat back in her seat and sighed, "Seems the previous River City Consilium weren't big on keepin' records, so we had to start from scratch."

Salem announced his departure, and the Acanthus merely gave him a nod, "Thanks for comin'. Hope you feel caught up. Watch your back out there."

"A good map would be a big plus. I'll keep my ear out for any expeditions! And," he grins and points at Jinx, "need to be involved. I bet I can make ley lines look like a string of shiny beads."

As the Warlock excuses himself Zhu Wu gives him a smile. "Glad to meet you. I look forward to working with you in the future."

Then he turns back towards Thirteen. "I can say the same to you. It is good to be working with other Awakened again." He glances back at the bird, "And spirits also," but turns back towards the witch with a smile still but a more serious tone of voice. "I hope I don't offend you with my joking with your familiar. He is more talkative than those I have known in the past which befits a crow. Still, I don't want to overstep any bounds. "

He stands up. "I have plenty to think on now. Perhaps Salem's departure is a natural stopping point? We have contact info if something else comes up."
