Oh no! That poor critter! Something must be done! Sonnie the animal lover whistled!

A moment or two later, Nimbus came pooting along. The Beast hopped onto the floating cloud. "Nimbus! Also Circe! There's a wounded mount around here! We must find them and help them! It probably flies cuz there's no prints in the snow!"

From cloudback (Is that word? It is now!) she scooped up the errant tassel! Holding it before the front of Nimbus'... uhhh, face?

"Get the scent boy!"

Nimbus... just floated there, doing nothing.

"Nimbus?"

Still nothing.

"Cloud Boy?"

Nope.

"Resplendent Lord of Water Vapor?"

Stillness.

Sonnie blinked, then retracted the tassel as realization hit. "Oh, right, no nose. Ummmm... no matter! We'll use our ey-- wait, you got no eyes, either. How do you not crash into trees?"

Nimbus had no answer, for he had no mouth, either. The mysteries of the cloud's alien biology would have to wait! "Actually, now that I think about it," Oh, now you're thinking? "The one with the heavy tracks is probably carrying the mount... which makes HIM the mount! Irony! Onward!"

Poot poot poot poot poot! Shadow-covered Monkey and her Weird Cloud Friend hovered forth to follow the tracks!

Contracts: Beast's Keen Senses (Fang and Talon 2): +4 to all Wits-based Perception rolls for a scene.
Nevertread (Smoke 2): No traces of passage left behind. -2 to attempts to track.
Shadowpatch (Smoke 3): +3 to all Stealth rolls for the scene.

Circe nods, "And at least one sneaky type, do not fly off too fast! I'm on foot in territory!" She yells, stealth be damned, as not getting divided would be bad. That and she'd not want to accidentally shoot the monkey. "And do you have healing fruits to use? A uh," Circe looks at the tassels, "Not sure if it'd be a sewing kit or a medikit for that. Not sure if duct tape will cut it, but have it"


Because duct tape works for everything. She'll follow the monkey, checking the tracks again as they do so.

Stealth? If the monkey is singing, no chance of that. She needed to get that drum mag. Very effective problem solver.

The Spring and Summer are off!

The heavier set tracks are the easier ones to notice right away, especially now that they know that they are there. Every now and then Circe catches more signs of the Fairest(?)'s slighter tracks, while Sonnie notices those tell tale marks of another tree traveler.

All in the effort to head forward towards the injured Lost and this injured mount.

And speaking of the later, there's a glinting glimmer of more tassel strands caught in a low branch.

"I gots the sparkly healing magics!" The Beast twiddled her fingers for emphasis. "For I am the sparkly Spring Queen, after all! And I always have healing gob fruits." Okay, she wasn't actually sparkly. That was Sera. Sonnie mostly smelled like tropical fruits (and sometimes simian musk, depended on how sweaty she was).

Speaking of sparkly, however, there was another tassel!

"MINE!" she yelled, Nimbus charging forward so she could grab it. Yes, yes the precious shiny was hers! ALL HERS!!!

Since it's technically a new scene, I'm assuming her contracts have worn off. If not, please let me know!

"Stealth, what is that? I have never heard of such a covenant a'fore now," Circe's voice is dripping with sarcasm as she pursues Sonja Wu on her little cloud. Mounts may have their advantages, but it liked radio for blasting tunes and Circe KNOWS cars don't work inside the Hedge.


And then Sonja is distracted by a shiny tassel. Circe is now relatively sure that if she'd a laser module on a gun, Sonja MIGHT go after the dot. Wasn't she contracting to dogs and monkeys? Not cats? Well, have to visit the zoo to ask if the monkeys chase laser pointers. She'd check for people sounds or something.

The Hedge might be changed, but Sonnie Wu, Monkey Queen Ascendent knows how to track. With her nimbus under her zip-zoom-zopping around so she can focus on seeing and smelling and hearing all the things! And. She. Does! An echo of foreign warmth, similar to Circe but different enough to stick out, the heavy foot falls and the lighter near invisible ones stay together. From her vantage on Nimbus, she sees the scuffs and scratches of steeply scrambling claws, and of course every so often the glittering thread - not enough to make another full tassel, but enough to be concerning - of the wounded mount.

While Sonnie leads the way, Circe keeps her eyes peeled. On Sonnie's six, because the Monkey Queen was in gogogogogogo! mode. She sees what she expects, more of the snow and no snow patch work the hedge had become, though the former had become rare the farther away from the farm they'd ventured. Spring settling the land, as Winter laid back to sleep. Hearing distant hob sounds, expected things, nothing yet that signals a threat to the Summer Queen.

Sosososo sorry it's taken me this long, I honestly thought I'd replied to this already /sweatdrop

Since it's technically a new scene contracts effects have dropped unless it says that it can last more than 1 scene, but since this is a split off from the other you're health/glamour/WP will be at the level they were at when the split happened,
so Sonnie is down 2 Glamour, and Circe is down 1 WP

Can I get 1 more Wits + Survival to make sure you don't stray from the path!

Damn, Sonnie was good at tracking! Especially so since she's not a predatory animal! Maybe it was just learned survival skills. Maybe it was her fae nature getting steadily stronger over the years and enhancing her feral side to increasingly uncomfortable levels. Maybe it was just dumb luck.

Nimbus floated over the altering landscape, the No-Longer-Shadowy Beast perched atop and scanning the ground beneath them. The loose strings were concerning. She still collected them... because shiny.

"Silly, elf," she called back to Circe, "Stealth is this thing where you get real quiet and walk around on your tipey-toes, while someone plinks away at piano keys to match your steps." Honestly, did the Fairest even watch cartoons?

No threats do her pointy little ears hear, nor her goggled eyes see. Maybe they were really far off? Who knows. And the monkey was eager as a beaver to get going.


"There is a technique with the balls of your feet and weight balance too," Circe retorts with amusement. "Or just wear socks over shoes."

Sailing high on the success of being the best ever at tracking ever to have ever done it ever, she fails to keep an eye on other things as she on Nimbus and Circe not on Nimbus continue forward.

Luckily Circe keeps them from straying from the Path. Though it seems with the patches of snow evaporating, melting and blowing away they've lost those easily to follow snow prints.

They might need to work a teeny bit harder to keep on track.

Blithely unaware she had failed to notice some things, the Beast and her mount had almost wandered off in the wrong direction, but course-corrected when she noticed Circe was following the track a different way.
