The Kindred continue to converse. The kindred of note may notice that the faceless masses glance to them, yet they are left to their conversations.

ResourcesSo... it's official, then. Otto wasn't entirely surprised to hear that the now-former Reeve had fallen out of polite society. It was just odd to hear it confirmed aloud in Elysium. "Yes." He said mildly. "Especially with all the unexpected threats to the Domain, clear communication is more important now than ever."
The Shadow being here for matters of temporal power was curious, at least to the Ventrue. 'Filthy lucre' and other matters of mortal money tended to be the purview of his own Clan, though there was certainly no monopoly on it. "What sort of business is this?" He asked. It shouldn't be much of a secret, given the intent to operate at least somewhat openly. "Wary of? Probably not." The Priest answered with a faint smile. "There simply hasn't been an established presence from our Clergy for some time, and my Covenant wants to correct that." He shrugged.

It was poor thing that someone who was frequently visiting Elysium had not known the prior Reeve's name until I shared it, Jennifer mused. Were Kindred too polite to gossip as they feared Helen's teeth or were they simply uninterested ins haring news with this new Mekhet? Jennifer looked at Azoth a bit closer. Mekhet were supposed to be on par with my own Clan for information gathering. Yet he did not know...
"I see." Jennifer spoke, her Cursed voice slithering out and coiling in the recesses of the room. She had conducted a rather probing questioning of Azoth and let the questions pass without comment.
"It is good to hear you agree, Priscus Schneider." Jennifer states her approval.
"As it stands, you and Priscus Silvers have been the prominent investigators of the Domain.
It would appear that the three of us are now the most prominent representatives of our Clans."
As all of the others remained a part of the Faceless mass.

Kylar looked to the Priscus, "We are in the risk management consultation business. We provide contract services such as private investigation, security detail, risk management consulting, kidnap negotiations, etc."
Kylar listens in as she mentions that Priscus Schneider and Priscus Silvers are the primary investigators of the domain. And then how he was also the most prominent member of his clan. "Well, you can count me in for any investigations that are needed. I am more than happy to provide my services to the Domain." Kylar pauses before continuing, "As for me being the most prominent member of my clan, we should eventually talk about the possibility of me stepping into the role of Priscus of my Clan. Granted I have not been here that long, but I think it is a necessary conversation to have."

ResourcesOtto nodded slightly in appreciation for the Seneschal's words. "We all have a vested interest in keeping the Domain secure." He glanced around Elysium briefly before continuing. "What's the point in politics if there's naught but ash to rule over?" Perhaps it was an extreme metaphor, but it hot the point across. Otto didn't consider himself a political climber, despite his recent petition to the Prince, he just wanted to establish a solid foundation for his Covenant. That wasn't really viable if kine were constantly meddling in Kindred affairs.
He looked between the other two Kindred, spurred on by Jennifer's remark. "So it would seem." He said simply, though he couldn't hide the fact that he was scrutinizing Azoth a little more closely. Otto and Jennifer were Priscii, so it was common sense that they were the most prominent members of their clans. But it didn't necessarily occur to him that, in due time, this Shadow might have the same claim to the title. He smirked a little when Azoth said as much. He's bold, I'll give him that.
"Risk management consultation." The Priest repeated. "An interesting choice of profession. Was this something you were involved in before you joined our ranks, or something that your new talents helped you step into?"

Jennifer looks at Azoth. Jennifer discarded any avenues of conversation that would go down routes that she simply was not interested in pursuing. There were a lot of words spoken. Yet it would need to be proven to her if real action bore them out as anything other than open talk in Elysium.
There was a reason why Jennifer did not speak more than what was necessary. She viewed Azoth with open interest as she waited for a response. There was little reason to put off a conversation, except for the possibility that Azoth would attempt to make an appointment for a private meeting. The ideal time for him to do so would be directly with her in the present moment.
“The reason that I mentioned that was to highlight the need for clear communication between the four of us.”
Jennifer highlighted with transparency as she looks to Azoth.
“I am curious why you feel the need to discuss the possibility of stepping into a Priscus role with me, Azoth.”
Jennifer drew this out on purpose with her Cursed voice, which slithered like a serpent over dying autumn leaves.
As the Priscus of the Ventrue spoke, the Seneschal swung her sharp gaze to focus on his words.
“This is no truer than the predicament that we find ourselves in. As we have agreed, the specifics of which will be discussed further in private.” Jennifer agreed with Priscus Schneider. As the Clan Leader probed Azoth on what Azoth had disclosed, Jennifer listened.

Kylar looked to Senechal Hazelton when asked about stepping into the role, "The reason I bring up wanting to talk about it, is because I am unsure what formalities, especially within the Elysium, that would need to be completed before I am able to be recognized as the Priscus of my Clan." Kylar showed a bit of his inexperience on his face intentionally making no effort to hide it, "Please excuse my inexperience but I have not yet had the opportunity to enter in any sort of leadership or mentorship role."
Kylar then returned his attention back to Priscus Schneider, "It was my profession since before I joined your ranks. In fact, to provide a little tidbit of my life, I was trained in the profession since I was in my teenage years."

ResourcesOtto couldn't help but wear a confused expression as Azoth proceeding to ask about the formalities of becoming Priscus. "That's more a matter of Clan than Domain." He said. "While I'm sure the Prince could... overlook certain decisions by a Clan," The Ventrue was careful with his phrasing, "It would be up to Clan Mekhet if you are seen as worthy." Or as the person they'll foist the responsibility upon. Otto's cynicism may have been more of a reflection of his own insecurities than any true judgment against the Clan of Shadows.
He quirked an eyebrow at Azoth's little biographical detail. "Carrying on your work from your old life? I can't say I'd do the same, but to each their own." That wasn't to say Otto didn't exploit his old skills and experience for his own benefit. But nowadays, Otto was a client, not a broker. The Priest made a short nod to the Seneschal to indicate his agreement before turning back to Azoth. "Is that how you met your Sire, then?"

"You are unsure of the formalities." Jennifer explored that for a moment, her Cursed voice slithering and coiling in the welcoming shadows of Elysium.
"As Seneschal, I do not hold powers over the appointment of different Clan Priscii, Azoth. The Clan politics are determined and resolved by the Clan in question. Many a Kindred has found themselves chided or politically adrift for daring to intervene in the process of placing outside interference in another's Clan decision. As the most prominent member of the Clan, the role is yours. You simply announce the position to your Clan and post notice in Elysium. Most courteous Pricii may send missives announcing the change to member's of the Prince's Court, yet that is purely a courtesy.
The desire not to become overly involved in another Clan's decision is strong within me. All too recently, there was someone who could hear the gossip of another Clan and weighed in with their opinions in the Cacophony. I was rather stern in making their opinion known in a space for my Clan." Jennifer shared.
"The Clan Priscii before you found himself in the same position and took the position of Priscus. It is rather expected."
As to his disclosure of of inexperience, Jennifer gave him a longer look. A look of evaluation. The disclosure could be seen as admitting weakness, here in a public place. Yet she was willing to lean into sharing information.
"It can be an adjustment. Yet it gives you a bigger voice and as you lead your Clan to better nights, it can be fulfilling. No doubt, more of your Clan will be arriving in coming nights. Our population tends to fluctuate. Sacramento can be a testing ground."

'Well that gives me a lot of stuff to think about before next we meet in Elysium. Thank you both for your input" Kylar really meant it, and in inquiring of it, he knew it would be something that he would need to inform his Sire about.
