It wasn't much, but Thirteen didn't need much. Just a loft over a single garage. As houses went, it was a cheap option, but it was what she could afford. A small building on a small lot. Americans generally wanted lots of land and space for their homes. The Scottish Acanthus was comfortable was this. It was cozy.

And it was all hers.

Thirteen smiled to herself, standing in the driveway and looking at her new home. No more renting apartments. She was a home-owner! And it would make a good place to build her own Sanctum.

After a moment, she walked inside. The garage was simple, and lots of space as she only had her motorcycle parked here. Her baby had it's own room now. The Libertine could do a lot with the space. Perhaps a workshop of some sort. Time would tell. Up the stairs to the loft itself.

Cozy was the right word. Bedroom, kitchen, dining room and living room were all the same space. Only the bathroom was walled off, for obvious reasons. Cardboard boxes were stacked here and there amongst the sparse furniture. She still had plenty of unpacking to do, and furniture shopping.

The Enchantress had just put a kettle on when she heard noises coming from the small balcony out front. Brows furrowed, she walked over to look.

Crows. Three black birds were perched on the railing, tilting their heads one way or another. When Thirteen appeared in the glass door, they all looked at her curiously. The Mage was just as curious. For most of the year, she had been tending to the local crow population. Mostly feeding them. In response, they had taken a liking to her. Crows remembered individual humans, and the behavior associated with them. She was solidly a friend to their kind, and they knew that.

Were these some of the same crows? The park they dwelled in was in a different part of the city, closer to her former apartment. Had these avians decided to follow her here? Looking about, she spotted more. Crows were sitting in trees and rooftops around the neighborhood. They hadn't been here earlier.

"Well," she said, smiling, "Guess I've got flatmates." Thirteen laughed as she went down to the garage to fetch the bag of special crow feed she had mixed up and distribute it onto what passed for her front yard.
