Haunting in Sacramento: Final Rest

Otto had wished to top off his reserves of Vitae before confronting the ghost haunting the park again, but the ongoing neighborhood watch made that too impractical. The Priest held the antique rosary in his hand. He had acquired it with the express purpose of dealing with the spirit in the park. The Dark Prophet guides my hand. Kindred could hunt and even kill kine because it was their divinely appointed task, testing and punishing the immoral and unworthy. Anything else doing it was unnatural. Blasphemous, even.

Otto glanced at his phone for the time, confirming that he would be meeting Alicia soon. The Daeva Priscus had been the only one to consistently aid in confronting the situation in the park. She's reliable. Together, we can end this. He also hoped that between their respective Disciplines, the inevitable encounter with the security guards of the park could be resolved quietly. The last thing they needed were witnesses and the banishment of the restless spirit was long overdue.

They would quiet the soul that was attached to the park and then he would punish the man responsible for it. It seemed possible that 'Alaric' had killed before. He apparently had a fairly regular habit of meeting a young woman, getting close to her, and then having her abruptly disappear from his life. That combined with the way he had described the act of killing his victim led Otto to believe the man might by a psychopathic murderer. The Priest looked at his phone again to make sure he wasn't missing any messages from Alicia. They would meet just a short distance from the park to briefly review their plan and then get started.

Having waited for a message from her fellow Priscus ever since having left the tea shop, eager to get this done and hopefully but things behind them. The little she had managed to learn still lingering within her mind, hoping the suspicions were nothing more than that, yet the alarm within her refusing to die down.

Bike jumped on at his call, parking close by to their meeting place and starting to look for him with false life flushing through her veins, walking around a little before approaching him this time dressed as inconspicuously as could. The blonde wig shifting her hair color from previous trips, and from her norm, both eyes blue, and carrying a slightly larger than normal purse over her shoulders not just over her arm.
"Good to see you Paul, I assume everything is well with you and that your studies have been going well?" Relieved to see him here, their attempts at recruiting any aid always having gone downhill, no one stuck around, no one seemed invested to get it over with, yet he had not wavered once, something he most certainly deserved praise for.

Glancing around them, and sharpening her sight, more so to be able to see well even in the dark and be ready than anything else.
"I've had quite a time myself." I got some intel, he is a man of faith, if we just focus this should be able to hopefully be concluded one way or the other tonight, then we better stay clear of this area for a while.

Otto was momentarily confused by the woman addressing him, as she certainly sounded like Alicia but looked- Ah. The hair, that's what's off. He quickly put it out of his mind as he let the Vitae flow through his body to restore some semblance of life to his otherwise pallid features. He responded to her addressing him as 'Paul', but he certainly wasn't about to put on the persona without an audience. "Unfortunately, I don't think I learned quite as much as I had hoped. Public records requests have to be manually reviewed by local government workers and well... the government doesn't work very quickly." This Haunting situation had been going on for the better part of a year now, there wasn't time to push it off any longer.

Still, they didn't need to rush blindly into the park. There was at least room for some degree of preparation and discussion. "Did your visit with our mutual friends go well? Possible advice or strategies?" He could bemoan relying on kine for the rest of his nights, but if they got results, that was what mattered.

Sighing with a roll of her eyes.
"Of course not, they are masters at delays and being so slow it is sickening. No luck in the social media front either?" That was the one she had hoped would work from the beginning, so much that could be tracked down from it.

Shaking her head and taking out her phone, not wanting to speak the words aloud as she takes a moment to write it out before handing him the phone to read the text for himself.

Bela offered to assist, but Kristen was there as well working behind a computer screen. Maps of popular restaurant areas with three moving dots, and one white dot standing still. Calling people "sus" aka suspicious. Constant change of discord chats (a program designed to easily chat and create small chat communities works both in a browser or as an app on the phone), and referencing me as a pale brunette in her chats. So I had to put up my guards far tighter than hoped. What I did learn though is that a likely part of why our last attempt failed were because we were not united, we all went our own separate route, we were also following along with our professor whose faith we do not know of, and lastly we interrupted the process. It needs to be seen through to the end without interruption. So we should likely settle on a method, you have the faith so you lead I follow, salt is common in tales so I brought it, utilize the rosary and do not break whatever we do. And be on the lookout for Bela, Diane and Kristen.

When the park is approached, one would notice that there is a table in front of the open gate. Two security guards in the same uniforms as the last visit made by Alicia and Otto are present, one behind the table and one in front of the gate.
Glancing past the gate, one would note two guards walking around and wearing the communication headsets.

No other people are currently present.

Otto was reluctant to reveal what he had learned, at least in a non-private setting. Were they still in his apartment, who knows what he might say. But for now, in public, he had to restrain himself. He glanced at his smartphone after he felt an insistent vibration, not wanting to miss any vital information from his co-conspirator.

Alicia's textual summary was both helpful and slightly concerning. It confirmed that there was more going on than what the mortal eye glimpsed, but it also put an unexpected amount of pressure on the Lancea Priest. Perhaps if he had had some past experience converting pagan populaces it would be easier to swallow. But Otto had never really been involved in true missionary work. The closest he had come was the violent opposition to Belial's Brood when they had grown too bold back in Newark. And so, in other words, we must center our beliefs on a single true faith. The thought rocked him as he sought to make eye-contact with Alicia. If this is what the Lord desires of me, I shall fulfill my duty with utmost glee.

It felt odd to have such a clearly defined goal after years of wandering and speculating on what was the most appropriate way to revere G_d. Still, Otto felt no remorse as he pulled the antique rosary from his breast-pocket and started chanting, intent on making contact with the divine spirit of G_d even as he exposed the corruption and antipathy of the spirit that haunted the local park.

Grabbing her phone back, deleting the text and making sure it had not been saved to the clipboard before whisking it along with the Fum mod back into her purse a.

Feeling their eyes about to meet with a slight turn of the head, not seeing a necessity for them to meet in the moment, old warnings ringing within her mind along with the prevalence any of them should be keeping at all times.
"Shall we head inside or did you get another idea in your look around?"

Eyes turned towards the park, waiting to see should he give any insight, answer or idea based around what she had just shared with him or if they should head for the park and just do what they could. Only to get stuck in place with a confounded look upon her ally. Blinking, trying to grasp what he was doing. Why is he chanting now, and here? Not wanting to interrupt should it be something important, should the placement hold meaning yet feeling a bit at a loss with slowly beginning to distance herself from the man, they were not in a place that felt intuitive to it, they were not heading anywhere, they were in public away from a place so why now?

"...happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee-" Otto caught himself mid-prayer, realizing that he had let his fervor overcome his self-awareness. He audibly cleared his throat before addressing Alicia again. "Apologies, in my haste to... get in the right mindset, I may have jumped the gun a little." He shifted his gaze rapidly between the Daeva Priscus and the park itself before speaking again. "I didn't find anything that would really change our plans, just confirmation that Alaric has a habit of dating women for a time before they mysteriously disappear." He tried to rattle his brain to see if he could recall the name of his previous paramour.

"I believe that I'm ready to begin if you are." He gestured towards the park, eager to get the process started and hopefully put an end to the whole sordid business. If any guards got in their way, he would be more than happy to explain to them why they needed to step aside. With a Lord's Words if necessary.

Approaching her fellow Priscus once more as his chanting stopped.
"That really speaks to the failure of the system, let him be judged harshly for his deeds coming to light or not." Such creeps really needed to be off the streets.

Giving him a swift nod.
"Then lets go." Starting to move towards the park by his side, ready to check out the security guards, and put their appearances to memory, check if they had nametags and anything else she could gleam about them from sight alone. How will we get the guards away though, is one enough for the ritual so we can split up or should we count on the winds, lets see their positions and the layout for it first.

Alicia will need to make a Perception roll

As the two Kindred approach the Park, they note that they have an advantage in that they are the only Patrons currently enjoying the park. One would note that the table set up suggested that there was going to be a search of patrons' bags upon entry to the park. Were your bags going to attract notice?

Was Alicia curious about getting the guards away from the exorcism or would it be possible to be quiet to not attract attention?
Was there anyone who could be contacted to help create a distraction, perhaps one of the Kindred had made an ally that could make a distraction that was small enough not to land them in trouble with the private security. And yet noticeable enough to allow them to work without scrutiny by the private security.
Perhaps one would be able to enter the park and not attract notice, which could allow the guards to continue their current activities.
