    Cartwright looks far from happy. "So what does that mean, can you track him with that?" He begins to pace his good arm going to his head not in despair but frustration. "Because otherwise I think whatever he was threatening seems like a way bigger problem all of a sudden." The seer ideology is unforgivable and abhorrent but they to were awakened, and some are far from stupid not to mention they have systems that reached very deep into the fallen world and beyond.     As the conversation backs and forth what Winter has observed is plainly try a mage skilled in the space Arcanum, probably a seer at that had most likely teleported out, with winters glyph buried right there in his pattern. And while the talks on how to use time to find said mage at a later date are ongoing no such reservations or restrictions apply to a mage for whom distance is lie.

    The first thing the Obrimos does is shield himself with another layer of defenses. He knows how sympathy works, and that means the enemy can only attempt targeting Cartwright or the room, at best.
    The connection has been established, however, and they have a much stronger link to the other side than their opponents because of his fate spell.

    The spatial conduit fades from its brief opening as Winter finishes his chanting and then invokes his armour ready to receive whatever else the mage with glyph might try and send his way.

    Cartwright steadies tries to focus and works his will on the mage who had just left there side. Before the supernal sense of the guardian reality repeats sound movement sensation a moment one a loop and Winter senses the paradox leaking out from the intrusion into this fallen world twisting the spell and making it their own. Cartwright faces scrunches with disgust. "Ah. I got nothing but that felt really wrong." A shudder visibly runs through the man.

    "Yeah", he grunts. How could he explain Paradox to a newbie mage without scaring the shit out of him? The Guardians had a very peculiar way on the Abyss and Paradoxes, one that border lined religion.
    And Cartwright wasn't a Guardian, far from it, from the way he had behaved until then, at least.

He sits down, "The upside, is that you're chained to it just as much as your opponents are, and bar a very specific group of very bad people, everyone understand the dangers of Paradox and tries to stay away from it", he shrugs, "For now, this encounter has wasted a good chunk of resources from our opponent; however, I doubt his intentions were aggressive, if he wanted to hurt you, the low risk option would have been to use a gun or hire some thugs, besides, the members of your community were a bit too aggressive, I mean, they jumped him without much consideration", he wonders aloud.
    "The threat of violence is usually more useful than actual violence, besides, mage society - even when groups are downright hostile - is a lot more courteous and subtle than that. It's in nobody's interest to go around and magically explode buildings, and as far as civilized groups are concerned - which I'm pained to admit, even Seers are - everyone is bound at different levels by certain rules and rituals. Even Seers, despite their constant cheating and backstabbing, respect the tradition of dueling when it's necessary
