    A giant of a man (7ft 6'), broad as a barn (300lb) his muscles are not things curated for gym selfies but thick from use and abuse. The jug jaw can be said to be his most flattering feature, after the badly broken nose, limp locks of hair and sharp shattered teeth. He wears a long poorly made overcoat, suspenders keep trousers up over a ill fitting white work shirt. A battered fedora is his only accessory.

    Mein: made of stitched red and brown leaves, 2 holes for his horn nubbins -- the scarecrows I pictured to be in place of the hat band, just a jumbled array of tiny standing and suspended sackcloth and straw people ringing the main body of the hat.

    Standing an inch or so taller and broader than its already giant mask the blubbery ashen skin, splotched with chitinous scabs and bulbous fleshy worts look almost diseased. Wild and matted lichens and moss form a tangled mane of hair and beard. Thick trunk like, twisted, arms of exaggerated length, end in vast hands with dark chipped nails. The pillar like legs bow slightly. A barrel chest and obese gut only add to the immensity of the creature. A broad jaw houses a chaotic array of sharp and curving teeth resembling shards of stone that prevent complete mouth closure ensuring they are always on display. The flat squashed nose leads to the sickly yellow sclera of the vast bulbous eyes and pupils more akin to fragments of flint, in turn overshadowed by nubbin horns protruding from a wide forehead

    The summer might not care about the books, but the Autumn courtier does. Although that it seems will have to wait as the whatever it is has been provoked and now lights and moving and who knows what else are going to be happening.

A Beast gains the benefit of the 8 again rule when using the Animal Ken Skill, and receives a free Specialty for the one animal that most reflects the Beast’s seeming. That same wild nature gives a Beast a powerful personal magnetism. A Beast’s player can spend points of Glamour to add to dice pools involving Presence and Composure. Each point of Glamour spent adds one die to one dice pool.

    Can inflict lethal damage instead of bashing damage when fighting unarmed.

    Once per scene, the player may spend one Glamour to surround the Flamesiren with a blazing flame-like aura. Anyone looking at the Flamesiren must make a successful Resolve + Composure roll or suffer a two-dice penalty to all actions until the character decides to douse the aura or the scene ends, thanks to the distraction.

    Vincent tenses as the lights shimmer and spread, his senses overloaded with the sudden surge of energy. He watches as the unseen presence moves, the tension in the air thickening with each passing moment. "It's toying with us," he realizes, his voice a low growl. "Testing our limits, probing our defenses."


    He glances at Circe and Kray, a grim determination settling over his features. "We can't let it dictate the terms of this encounter," he says, his voice regaining its usual confidence. "We need to take the initiative."


    He raises his voice, addressing the unseen presence directly. "Enough hiding in the shadows," he challenges. "If you want a fight, then fight. But if you're just looking to scare us, you've failed. We've faced worse than you, and we're not afraid."


    He stands ready, his senses heightened, prepared to face whatever the unseen presence throws at them. "Come out and face us," he urges, his voice echoing through the archive. "Or slither back to whatever dark corner you crawled out of."

    0 Scenes

    Circe perhaps too busy bantering, quickly looses sight of the invisible thing, but Kray find a glimpse of bent vegetation between the towering bookshelves. Vincent tries to cow the thing, with it's state of invisibility it's hard to decern if it works, but the Huntersheart knows that he hasn't lost track of his prey.

    Which is a good thing for Vincent, and Kray for they have a second to react to one of them massive bookshelves toppling towards them!


    the int+investigation/survival roll was an either or, not a both roll. And Vincent, if you want to try and intimidate or persuade someone/thing you'll need to roll for it, to else you're just saying words.

    Kray and Vincent can make this flat, but Circe can make it at a -1, even though she can't tell where it is, she's paranoid and experienced. Please roll Dex + Athletics to get out of the way!

    This was a bad sign to her. "Load bearing trap!" Is her conclusion due to memory. Retrieving her pack and leaving seems a good idea. It is hard to fight a building, let alone a collapsing one. "I've rigged a Hollow like this before. Cascade effect. This is gonna get worse!"


    Of course, Circe's Hollow in the Bay had a very different arrangement. Involving gunpowder, dynamite, gasoline, and bullets cooking off. It was a massive death trap and scorched earth technique to deny assets. This was more mystical and less area of effect, but still deadly.

    Bent vegetation might be the give away but there is little and less time to act on that given the impending risk of being crushed under the massive shelves of books. Something that the ogre can't imagine being good for it's contents. "Uh. Why the books!" Whatever this was clearly didn't value the written word very highly.

    Trying to dodge towards the flattened vegetation patch the giant reasons the thing wouldn't try and drop the shelves on itself.

    The Lost dodge the falling bookshelf, the sound of it's collapse echoes long pass when the dust the falls kicks up disperses.

    Vincent's roar echoes with the slam of the bookshelf, but the creature doesn't seem to react to his goading.

    In fact after the bookshelves' fall, none of the anticipated violence happens. The creature retreats back to silence, to stillness. And the Lost have lost 'sight' on where it could be now.

    Though, the sight of the other loaming, sky reaching bookshelf might leave a hit, or perhaps the creature is more intelligent than to attempt the same move twice, or maybe it's waiting for them to lower their guard.

    Will the Lost stay within the Archive? Attempt to reach the slowly crumbling books, on whatever topic is lingering just out of reach, or will they move on, attempting to loose the creature, attempting to find something - someone to help them with it?

    Another Perception -3, or a Wits+Investigation-2 to try and see where the Stalker might have gone! Remember clarity!

    The almighty crash and cloud of dust followed by the absence of what he would have to imagine would bee incredible pain of being crushed tells the Ogre he had dodged the massive shelf and advertised their position to anything and everything within well beyond the immediate vicinity. "Oh. Bugger." Not normally one to curse but tis situation certainly merited it. Oh and he has lost track of the whatever it is. "Ah. Double Bugger." So what's coming next? The giant form tensed and ready to dodge a second shelf if the need arises.

    Where is it? failure


    Casting around it seems pretty hopeless. So how do we make it show itself? or show up! "Hey. Circe you still got any of that coffee left?" Hardly an original idea but if they can find it again dousing the thing in dark liquid might do something.

    1 suxx where is it?!



    "Fanculo!" Circe expresses in her own way that she has lost her target. At least nobody got squished. "What?" She eyes Kray, shotgun not back up and pointed towards nothing. "It isn't THAT good a cold coffee Kray. Half a cold bottle won't bribe it. It followed us or double security with the book-y trapped shelves."


    Naturally she goes to coffee is riches mentality because of her own addiction. Circe tries assessing the situation and it needs to drop essing. She'd never considered an invisible opponent to be a legit thing. Why not?


    How did they get given away in movies? Snow, sand, paint? She had none of that! Not even a laser pointer to try to Predator it up with, nor tear gas, or even a spray paint can. Wait, something in her pack was a possible, if unlikely, way to do something. "Guys? I want to get my pack," she nods towards where it is on the ground, "Could have something useful in there. And if you boys want us to fuck off, I don't want to leave the coffee. Please watch in case it jump me."

    After getting an acknowledgement from Kray and Vincent, Circe will then try to go and retrieve her backpack. She had a few bad ideas that might help.
