Squeaky Choir: Bid for freedom

I apricate it it the holiday times so I won't be chasing this scene till the new year but if you are still in custody by the end of it then that will be the end of the plot and your character will be taken to the station. This is your opportunity to do something about it.

Behind the wall of glass, on the stair case, that leads to the out of place door of white wood and crystal Corn, Phoenyx an Philip have been cuffed by four officers of the law. One of those offers is suffering from damage to his vision after the light from his troches was redirected straight into his eyes. One officer has Philip, one officer has Phoenyx and and the forth officer has corn and the incapacitated officer, they are leading you down the stairs. Corn and Phoenyx both have unlocked cuffs and there hands hidden in just enough shadow to make that not immediately noticeable.

At the bottom of the staircase Winter has come face to face with the fifth and final armed response officer, others surely have set up a cordon and Phoenyx knows they have having passed them on the way into the building. To aid the escape Winter risked paradox to cast acceleration on the four mages. The spell has taken and could prove a pivotal tool in breaking free. These officers have already bene exposed to one vulgar instance of magic and the power of their collective disbelief broke the arrows spell apart.

The threat there where here to investigate and contain if needed now a distant and outlandish priority, the rats, the infections, the death and the occult symbolism all pieces in the puzzle, the architect having been within their grasp now a distant dream compared to their own needs and the mage waiting above in twilight for his part seems to have taken no action to sway events in any one direction of the other. Maybe he does not feel the need to.

You each have acceleration but keep in mind how many sleepers can see you when you choose to use it's benefits because disbelief will kick in

Eh, Winter was here?! I have forgot about him... Corn thought without making any connection to why Winter would have slipped his mind. Then... Winter covered them with a time spell. His magical connection to the watchtower informed him that he could run supernaturally fast. At a cost. And it would be at the very least improbable, so with 5 sleepers the Abyss would unravel the spell even faster than his dwindling mana.
With a few-too-many spells on his pattern, Corn decides that the enemy mage wouldn't do anything too nasty and drops his ability to see in twilight.

First order of business, so that they would all be ready when needed, Corn willed open Philip's cuffs too.
    5 successes

Thus, Corn decides to create a "curtain" of darkness further than the policemen would be able to cross in a few seconds. The irony that he is using the very things the madman above was enhancing - darkness and shadows - is not lost to the Moros. Of course, unlike the other fellow, he can't use ... Feng Sui, Geomancy or whatever to make his work easier through the Lie, so he had to rely on his own, very limited, power over shadows. So, he had to do what he could do. He targeted a side he could see in the darkness, an area touching the wall, and using the power of fate to aim the spell correctly, he tried to deepen the shadows over a considerable area.

And the carefully aimed spell, failed to come to this fallen world. His allies would have to do what they could do without the protection of Stygia to hide their spells from the Sleeping souls, until he has the time to try again.
    failure

I make the assumption that Corn would know what the effect he has on him does. Corn does not have sight up to scrutinize the spell.

That is a good point. Only Winter knows the spell effect. That it is a time effect is known otherwise a spell must be securitised to understand it.

Neither Phoenyx nor Corn seem to be quick on the uptake. Realizing he's going to be more useful while free, he pushes mana into his legs, finally activating the spell. Before the guard can realize it, he's already gone.

The sudden burst of movement is enough to provoke the officer to discharge his firearm

    1 success

Winter is clipped by the shot his bulletproof armor reducing the damage down to a nasty bruise he takes 1 point of bashing damage

    Disbelief 2 successes
In an unlikely turn of events as Winter feeds the mana to fuel his spell and bolts away into the dark maze like structure of the offices his spell unravels, the disbelief of a single sleeper sufficient to return the fallen world to the state it had been prior to the Guardians will working.

That was my mistake. Unraveling has not exceed potency Winter still has his acceleration spell up.

Still he has put distance and confusion between himself and the single officer of the law that saw him and soon should forget the encounter more or less entirely. Winter is in the office maze close to the door leading out into the foyer of the warehouse (the place the first dead body was found by him and corn).

Corn manages to discreetly open Philips cuffs as well but his attempt to curtain all in shadow goes awry and he Philip and Phoenyx remain in police custody as they escorted quickly off the stairs after the sound of the shotgun blast spooks the officers into action, and the group meet up with the 5th rearguard officer who is pointing his gun out into the dark of the room his lights illuminating no one, he has no idea why he fired and puts it down to being spooked by movements in the dark, his gun is taken off him and he is given custody of the officer with the damaged vision meaning each of the three prisoners has an officer of their own to contend with.

Corn attempts, again, to deepen the shadows on 6 yards by 3 yards patch close to a wall (the short side is touching the wall), 30-35 yards away. Again, he tries to find the best moment to cast this spell.
    2 successes

This time, the spell penetrates the fallen world and the shadows thicken. If Corn and the others go past that patch, the darkness would help them hide and even hide their spells from the sleepers.
While Corn doesn't stop, he does move ahead slower, attempting to keep the policemen from getting too close to the darkness.

Corn is not exactly sure what Winter did , his mind already running around the Guardian's presence like a current avoiding a rock. He does recall that winter did ... something though. So, he brings up sight to attempt scrutiny.
He ignores composition, potency, targets, duration at the time.

    Matter Sight, 3S

    Scrutiny, effect, 6 S

Corn attempts to figure the effect of the spell in question.

Corn remember -1 for repeating the failed action of shadow deepening

Remember the -1 from contagion for matter sight

Phoenyx and Philip remain in custody having taken no action to try and liberate themselves and lead out into the office maze by the armed officers who are on high alert due to the gun shot going off, the cause might be unknown but tensions have still risen and corn attempts to to slow down are met with an officer physically grabbing him (already restrained by the cuffs) and marching him forwards at pace with the group.

no suxx are needed for him to know a time spell has been placed into his pattern the glyphs cyan colour tells him as much however even ignoring the signs of much of the glyphs composition the complexity of the rote makes it harder to discern a great deal of information he is able to glean its identification (if he knows winter's spell identification from prior scrutiny (would need the link rather then a vague answer) he knows it is winter for sure, otherwise he will recognise this identification under scrutiny at a later date as the same caster.

Winter barely a vague shadow of a memory to the officer who sot at him is not pursued or searched for he remains out of lien of sight in the dark of the maze.

He takes a deep breath, pausing to assess his situation. The time spell is still buried through his pattern, having survived the initial onslaught of the Lie. Luckily, both his armor and his bulletproof vest were enough to absorb the shotgun blast, leaving him with a nasty bruise but otherwise intact.
He knows the other mages are still in police custody, being escorted through the building. The cops are on high alert after the unexplained gunshot, their tension palpable even from a distance.
Shrouded by his Incognito Presence spell, he remains unnoticed in the shadowy office maze. His mind races, calculating the potential escape routes for his companions.
He needs to create a diversion that will help the others break free without revealing their hands. He decides that the best way is to stop them the moment they're transported to the police station. So, for now. He looks for a way to leave the premises.

A spell forms around her wrists, another around her legs. The flare of the Nimbuses from Corn and Winter shows the source of the spells, but there's no way to know what they are. So.... just casting spells on one another is fine? Why try to be respectful? Because it protects the Veil, and saves our lives... Social conventions are so bewildering...

Okay. Cause a distraction and break for it. Make it sound like there's another intruder.

The Arrow winces as she absorbs the ripple against realist of the Force Spell. However, she feels her control over the sound in the area around them.

Waiting for a point where they are nearly at a junction, she generates a door slamming from the left to draw the eyes of their guards, while simultaneously sprinting to the right and letting her Sound Mastery elapse.

Phoenyx gets out of the way! Good. Now, only Philip needs to be accounted for. Corn, tries to get a spell going as the policemen are distracted.
Without much time, he does what he has done before, only smaller.
Sending his will to the Supernal reams, Corn forms for the Imago - a large area that covers the ground under them and the policemen, and a couple of plugs as well, turns conductive as copper with fate instructed to exclude a small area that Pentacle mages are touching. Of course, that means the pentacle mages need to not shift much, but Corn does his best.

This is 1 success, I forgot contagion, again. So it is not 2 S, it is 1 S. Alter Conductivity

Phoenyx remember vulgar magic in front of sleeper witnesses adds +2 paradox dice. Here you go.
    witness vulgar failure
and Corns deepening of shadows did not have a nimbus flare it was a covert spell. And please track your HP and damage

Winter under his veiling is removed in the shadows and while still a lurking presence free it would seem from the scrutiny of the other secreted away as he is in the maze of cubicles that serve as the call centre office and he knows some occult construction or symbol.

Phoenyx suffers the absorbed backlash as her nimbus flares vulgar before Corns mage sight and an orange glyph is willed into being. When the last moment comes to make user of the spell before they are escorted into the corridor that links to the main reception area the spell is utilised and its vulgar magic used to stimulate the sound of a door ... where the officers know none exists Phoenyx has moved through them invisibly as they swept this area on her way to meet up with the other mages.

    6 successes
A combination of the officers disbelief rend the spell apart and their memories are left hazy as unto what exactly happened if they remember anything at all.

She bolts for it and of course the officer officer that stands closest to her and the one looking after the blinded officer bolt after her however they immediately cry out in pain as the now live floor caused by corn. Phoenyx herself is protected thanks to her forces armour and suffers no harm allowing her to dive into the shadows and and the office maze.

Corn using magic to Cause Harm is a sin against wisdom. As per the OOC check up you have agreed to continue with the action. please make a decentration check of 3 dice and post it to your sheet.
