Thoughts come to a screeching halt as Sand, yes Sand, brings up Seer hunting. Langdon would have put money on Winter or Alastor...no Alastor bringing that up first.

"How sure are we that the Seers were looking to recruit or use them? If this Shrike is that ..unstable then they could be a threat to the jailers as well right? Presumably, also presuming that the Seers don't own the local police force or worse.

"Ah... so possibly an academic question but are we more worried about pissing off the three rogue mages or pissing off the Seers right now?" Then an awkward pause. "Well...pissing them off more than before..." Dropping cars...

He reads Langdon carefully, then he speaks "Nobody wants a Scelestus or an Acamoth on their turf. Pentacle, Seers, unless you can control them, the policy is the same. And an Acamoth and a Scelestus together are anything but controllable", he frowned.
"We need to keep tabs on both groups, tap any sympathetic link we have and see whether we can forecast their next steps"

Scelesti are mages who have sworn allegiance to the Abyss. Many work to corrupt the Fallen World further. Others work to bring Abyssal Entities into the world, either to worship them or else to ally with them.

"Here's where stuff gets even more interesting. We may have some leads to go forward," Alastor said, pulling forth a notepad. He sighed quietly as he peered at it a second, remembering two long, long days and nights observing a Scrying window after a lengthy ritual casting. Few things were as tiring as ritual work, and to have sat there for that long afterward didn't make it any easier. Thankfully, Kaze had Life magic that helped out, otherwise it probably would not have been possible.

"The cat woman, Simone, I observed her for two days. She lives on a rural property deep in the woods. It's a neglected, spooky place; both the house and the grounds. She generally keeps to herself. Every now and again, a big shadow would swoop overhead or lurk in the trees... which could be another shifter. A bird, perhaps. She shares the place with an ugly woman who spends most of her time by a pond named Agatha. That lady cultivates illegal plants. There's also a lean man with a beak-like nose who lives in a caravan on the property named Bobby. They gather together for chores and for their main meal of the day. While I was watching them, they were planning a deal for the squat woman's drug contacts, and they were worried about how long the wizards were taking. I guess they don't know they're dead."

He shrugged and put the notepad away.

"If I were a betting man, I'd bet that looking more into them might net us more information."

Kaze listens intently. He is sure First Talon Alastor has some ideas for what 'looking more into them' would entail, and is also interested in what the other Elders might suggest.

He notes the idea that these shifters have a closer relationship with 'wizards' that he might have thought, byond just being clients.

The Moros pales at Winter's subtle rebuke. "Shit." He shakes his head. "Good point, I hadn't thought that through fully."

Alastor's information doesn't let any life return to Langdon's face either. "So there's a group of them and one of them can fly?

Think we could hire them? Instead of showing up there and demanding to know things?" Langdon does not want to watch every window he gets near.

"While I'm all in for the diplomatic approach in dealing with those shifters and to be as forthcoming as we can", the man takes a pause, as to consider their options, "we haven't exactly started out on the right foot", he turns to the Arrow, "but if you say they are doing something illegal on their land. We could manufacture an incident involving the local authorities, frame them with an anonymous call. And then sweep in to offer our assistance as a token of our goodwill"

Alastor shrugged, hands out to suggest he was very much open to their suggestions. "Whatever you guys think is best. I'm a soldier and a Space Disciple. I do recon, intel and plan combat operations. If you folks think this could be handled in a more diplomatic way, I'm certainly amenable to that. We've got all the advantages at this point, so we can plan our approach to maximize our chances of getting our optimal outcome."

Enough of this was dealing with outside supernaturals that he was tempted to let Winter take point.

Sand slips away. Sorry guys ... I'm just not able to commit right now to Sand and Sand plot. Gonna pull her out so that I stop being a bog down.

Sand leaves and the Guardian slips in her seat. "We'll have to make that call and bide our time, I suppose."
