The office that Rune is directed to wait in is clearly being used as a workspace for the rank and file members of the Mysterium.
Disciples, Apprentices, and Initiates bustle about packed practically shoulder to shoulder as they work.
Documents get pulled off of shelves and replaced, strange objects go under scrutiny, and half empty cups of coffee litter whatever little unused space there is on the tabletops.
In one corner, a woman has bunched up a sleeping bag and is sitting cross legged on top of it with an exhausted look on her face.
A younger mage, identifiable as an initiate by a lapel on his collar apologizes to you for the mess and offers you a chair before returning to his work.
The woman turns to you and smiles.
"You look pretty worn out hun. Let me guess, just as you thought you were snug and settled in for bed, middle of the night you got yourself woke up by horrible magicks right where you were sleeping?"

"thanks" he says to the initiate sitting in the offered chair in an attempt to stay out of the way. Just watching how hard the other are working makes him feel even more tired.
Trying to ignore th workers Rune smiles at the young lady "Very perceptive, although I guess for me the horrible magicks was a man named Niles. You look like you had a rough night as well."

The moment Niles' name is mentioned, all activity in the room comes to an immediate halt. One stack of manuscripts falls out of an initiate's hands, and he doesn't even try to catch them as they slip.
After a moment of stunned silence, one of the apprentices speaks up.
"You saw Mr. Wells, didn't you?"
The room erupts into murmurs and questions, what does he look like? did he say anything? what did you do? oh my god I would have been terrified!
Then silence, as they all stare at you hoping you might continue.
The woman sitting on the floor looks just as confused as you do.

The Mage who appears to be the ranking member in the room perks up.
"Are you kidding me? The whole damn city is scared shitless of this guy. Shows up with no warning at all to Mages all over Sacramento. Nothing can prevent him from showing up, not even the wards of Masters keep him out. Nobody has any idea who he really is."
Another chimes in.
"And he never does anything, he just spews a whole lot of bullshit and -poof!- vanishes."
"The Guardians are freaking their shit out over this guy. People say that this Niles guy is knocking on every door of anybody who's even seen him, looking for clues."
"But nothing. Nada. They can't pin him down."

"Sounds like a real problem, I just hope the Guardians can keep him under some control." Rune lets out a sigh this was not what he wanted to hear. He had hoped the Niles was all talk but you don't make people this afraid of you with just words.
Niles knew he was lying about the man and if people feared Niles this much he would have to walk carefully from now on. Looking to the young lady again "So are you here to see Dr. Primoria?"

She cocks her head just a little at you, and then she starts in recognition.

The acolytes still haven't picked up their pace yet, hesitant to give up hope that Rune has more to say about the mysterious Mr Wells.
Although Rune notices one acolyte in particular, way in the back. He looks like he's in a tugging match over a larger book. Face tensed in exertion, his body leans backwards defying the better judgment of gravity. There's no one on the other end of the book.
"Let fucking go Mr Steinman!" The acolyte protests.

Dee lets a few spells expire as he heads out of the bitch's office. He walks over to the staff office annoyed at how little intel he was given before being sent to Sacramento. But its my fault I did not ask for more.....
He opens the door and pauses seeing all the people in the room. He gives a polite nod as not to interrupt the conversation and steps in.
Current Spells: 1 (Supreme Augmentation Multi Tasking Mind), 2(Supernal Vision), (Supreme Augmentation “Tradition”), (Spatial Awareness / Incognito “Attainments”)

And then the door opens again.
"Ah, you're here. Now we can begin."

Not really wanting to speak about Niles Rune pretended not to notice the attention from the Acolytes. As he heard the commotion in the corner Rune looks to see what is going on but only seeing one man, so he attempts to cast spirit tongue.
01-05 22:52:57 Rune rolls 4 dice to Pres+ socialize + spirit Failure

Cursing to himself as the spell fails he gives himself a moment before he tries to cast it again. Then the new person enters the room, Rune watches him and stays silent for them moment waiting to see what is going on.

The acolytes in the room explode into action, and several chairs are swiftly made available.
Starling waves them away dismissively and sits down.
"Gentlemen, you both are here because you have shown remarkable talent in the exploration and investigation of magickal ruins." He stops as an acolyte swings in to put a cup of tea into his hands. After taking a sip, he continues.
"It just so happens that we've got something that needs exploring, and we're not sure how safe it will be."
Regarding you both calmly he falls silent.

"That's just the thing boys. We don't know." Starling frowns and crosses his legs, still sipping his tea. "Documents that we've recovered from other sites suggest that this building was held as some kind of fortified bunker by Sacramento's Pentacle. No idea who specifically, just that it's location was ideal to watch out for something."
"My only guess right now was that it was some kind of Arrow base. Maybe a lookout for Seer activity." He shrugs.
