John woke up sweaty but improved. That was not to say he did not still feel like only half a person. Night was falling and he could hear the late afternoon's traffic. He finger the fastener, it looked so mundane, and that made John smile with pride. John opened his necklace and strung the castle nut on, right next to his Key.
John powered up his iPhone, and looked up the Museum of Anthropology and Antiquity in Sacramento. That is where Dr. Tyria Primoria was. Seems like getting a bit more information on the Free Council's teddy bear of counter maciks usage may be helpful. John tugged and snapped a few threads at a seem in reality, giving him a nice view of the museum.

John's scrutiny reveals several things,
First, the place is Warded up to high heaven.
Second, the spells are triggered to... (something you can't quite seem to tell what) if subject to scrying within the walls.
Third, the resonances of the actual place are unusually dead. It's not quite a magical dead-zone but it's sure close. There's likely a lot of Mana tied into maintaining protections over the place.

Not an unexpected development, but there is at least one Sleepwalker on-site performing recon.
He's plainclothes, and you almost didn't notice him. It might be possible for him to have noticed your scrying, but it's unlikely. There's nothing to identify which Order he's working for.
Nevertheless, this is where Primordia is supposed to be stationed, and Mysterium operations coordinated from.

Continuing his scry John dialed the Museum. He wonder if the Mysterium already had someone in Sacramento why he was being called in. Odds are the doctor would soon tell him.

"Maybe we could fit you in in about two weeks?"
A slight pause before she adds cheerfully:
"Oh, and in the unlikely chance that you happen to be a Mr John Dee, I have been instructed to inform you to immediately report to the Museum of History. Staff will let you in."
"So will 9AM the Tuesday of that week work?"

ST note:
Thank you for giving me the page number for the legacy. I am not yet familiar with the supplements.
John steps into the morning light before the museum bold as brass. By the time the plainclothes guards notice him and panic, John has already made his way inside the building.
The clerk looks up to cheerfully greet a visitor, and then Dee's voice belts out to announce his arrival.
In gross disregard to personal safety, he attempts to pierce through the protective wards of an official Pentacle stronghold during a time of heightened security.
With a keen aptitude for subterfuge, and a great deal of Magickal talent, John's conscious probing weaves its way around some of less pleasant protections. Looks like some kind of ugly Death magic, maybe some kind of spirit guardian too? But, unabashed John skirts the dangers until - snap - a tiny strand of Fate snaps.
And three powerful spells come crashing down.
Alarm!
An extremely piercing signal, perceivable only by Supernal senses rips through the building.
Anyone with Mage Sight on takes -1 to non-magical actions because of the "noise"
Mousetrap
A psychic backlash to defend against unwanted eyes. Bashing damage, Resolve+Gnosis resists. (Mind)

Curse of the clipped Wings
There is nothing more dangerous than an enemy who can vanish in the blink of an eye. Mysterium Mages developed this spell to "lock down" intruders so they might be held accountable for their actions.
Like Ward, this spell makes it difficult for a Space Mage to pierce space. However, rather than protecting a place, this spell is meant to prevent escape!

"Why.. what the fuck is up with this town" puzzled John to himself. He was use to this kind of welcome when out to "acquire" an item. But coming to see a fellow Mystagogue...
The ward was weak Dee prepares him for a hasty retreat. Eying the rifts for one that is going to provide him his egress.

The alarm is terribly arresting, the clerk at the front desk squeals in shock and ducks beneath the counter.
The psychic assault is pierced by someone else's magick, and is diminished. But a few tendrils manage to get through and buffet John's psyche.

Note that the Space curse was intended to affect spellcasters scrying from outside, to in. You would still need to contend with the Museum's wards to escape.
(Although your brief scrying did manage to reveal that there is some kind of trigger to bypass them.)
A bespeckled woman far too young to carry herself with so much certainty sweeps into the lobby.
"John Dee, what the hell do you think you're doing? I want you in my office NOW." She looks furious.

As John walks over to her office he quietly. "Apparently I am missing something. I am sorry for my bumbling. I was just trying to ascertain how the Mysterium rolls here in Sacramento. Again I am sorry for my oafishness."
John quiets up and waits for her to take the lead in the conversation.

The supernal alarm continues to peal throughout the museum.
The young woman curls a quick finger to indicate that you will be following her, while she turns towards the front desk.
Several men and women have followed her in, some dressed inconspicuously, at least one is dressed in a preposterously garish vest-like garment. It's the sort of thing popular amongst Mages who spend far too much time alone and have completely forgotten whatever good taste they might have had in their previous life.
She addresses them as a drill instructor might bark out orders to recruits:
"Phrymides, cut the alarm. Starling, you and Mordikei gather up some of the disciples and get started on re-arming the Ward defenses. Ursa, just get everybody to calm the hell down. I repeat, this is a false alarm. What are you all waiting for, get going!"
The Mysterium of Sacramento scatter to their duties, and the young woman takes off stomping towards the back rooms of the museum.

The museum is filled with shadows from lost eras. Statues, carvings, pottery all shaped by the hands of men and women forgotten by time.
The display you pass through on the way to the office is Persian empire, and as you look on the treasures they left behind your senses tingle. Shadows squirm in the cracks of stone, dull tapping rhythms emanate from old pots, and one stone tablet seems almost to be screaming...
The office itself is fairly voluminous, stacked high with manuscripts. The door swings closed after you enter, not by supernatural means, but by one of those primitive pneumatic devices that mortals use. The young woman turns abruptly to face you.
"John, if you've got a brain in your body you know who I am already. Do you know why you were called to come to Sacramento?"

Unfortunately, John has misjudged the true source of Tyria Primordia's anger, although she has calmed down a little seeing how John seemed to be genuinely sorry for causing trouble.
"John, the reason you are here is because I asked for you specifically. By name. I read your files, and I read your recommendations. I personally made the call to bring you in."
She sighs, and for just a moment you remember just how young this woman is, and just how much stress she must deal with in her position.
"But you were here less than a day before you humiliated me, and the Mysterium. The man you tried to spy on yesterday is Calligan Wellmer. That's right, he visited me himself yesterday to verify that you were part of the Order. Calligan is the head of the Free Council here, and now I'm taking the heat for a serious breach of Lex Magica because you don't seem to understand that it's not acceptable to look into peoples homes."

"Tyria you are misinformed. His "home" is a public hotel? I think I will declare my house in the middle of a street and then have the audacity to call each passing car a trespasser. I was investigating a resonance or beacon, if I may, inside a PUBLIC hotel. At no time did I enter a private domain nor snoop anywhere not consider public. I did not trespass physically or supernally. He on the other hand followed me to one of my hard earned hideouts. I was merely monitoring the hotel in question. He and his teddy bear of doom shut down my scrying, busted down my ward and paid me a rather unpleasant visit. The worst I can be accused of is being an interested passerby. If one shines a light in the darkness, they should expect others to take notice. It is he and his supernal teddy that should be humiliated."
No matter that Dee was right, either way he was having a bad week, and being drained by his ritual yesterday was no help. Right and sloppy is still 100% wrong. Seven by three foot desk, twenty one square feet…Thirty six inches high. Dee was always the constant sizing up his locale with one facet of his consciousness. “Hell after my entrance I would not even listen to a word out of my mouth.” he thought.

"Yes John, it IS his home. Lot's of us are currently making do with temporary housing while we transition. And unless you happen to be from another PLANET there is no such thing as a public hotel. People SLEEP in them, SHOWER in them, and let their defenses down in them. Why couldn't you just leave a message at the front desk?
"Just because you have the power to scry the hell out of Space, doesn't mean that it's OK to peek into someone's bedroom!"
"And as for the resonance, John he's a damned 2nd degree Master. I'm sure that apartment is covered in wards, specifically for the purpose of keeping people from trying to pull the shit that you did."
Tyria begins to pace in nervous earnestness.
"God, he told me that he came THIS close to deciding to kill you John. This close! You're lucky that Calligan's the least of the hard-asses in this town."
Stopping, Tyria seems too exhausted to lambaste you any more.
"I don't care what your opinions are on the matter, I need to know that you're not going to try something like this again. I need to know that you're not going to scare the living daylights out of the most powerful Mages in town. Can you promise me that?"
Although she is pleading with you, it's not for her benefit. It's for yours.

"I will clarify to you. My intent was to scry only in places open to the public. Not into any of the rooms, not where anyone sleeps, showers, nor their bedrooms.
It would seem the road to hell is paved with good intent as I must of I peered in to an apartment. I was sent to investigate and thats what I was doing. It was not till after this event I was informed of your presence in Sacramento otherwise I would of come to you first.
I am not trying to argue. My point is he is overly paranoid and came after me swinging is all. You have read my file I am no peeping tom. I am an acquirer of things deemed in need of being under the Mysterium's care.
I can promise that I will and have up held the Mysterium's code and that I abide by the Lex Magica. I also can promise I will tread much more lightly here in Sacramento in an attempt not to "scare" anyone" He pauses lets the seriousness of his statement settle over the room, and then continues "and their teddy" Dee gives her a smile, hoping to move on.

Although clearly not satisfied with the apology, and flinching noticeably when John uses the word "paranoid" to describe the reaction of a Mage who's sanctum was nearly pierced by unknown magick, Tyria clearly agrees that it is time to move on.
"John, you're going to be working under an agent of ours. His name is Rune, and although his resume isn't quite as impressive as yours we've put a lot of trust in him. He will be investigating a couple of sites over the next few weeks, and you will be under his direct supervision."
Her eyes narrow, and her voice is cold and impassible.
"That's right, as of last night you have been demoted. You are hereby stripped of the rights and responsibilities of your position as a Procurer until such time that I deem fit to reinstate them. Until then you WILL answer directly to Mr Rune while investigations are being conducted. I want you to report down to the staff office and wait for my second, Starling, to fill you in on the details."
"Dismissed, Mr Dee."
It's time for you to go.
