I am seeing a Prime issue:
Siphon Integrity
The caster can replenish his own
Mana reserves with this spell only once
every 24 hours. The frayed Mana from
successive castings cannot be integrated
into the mage’s Pattern during that
time, although he could use the “Channel
Mana” spell, p. 224, to divert it
elsewhere.
The spell was not to replace a hollow, I think this as you can by the rules only get mana this was once per day.
So here is the issue, if I can cast Siphon Integrity (4dots) I can make imbued items (3 dots). So I can channel the mana into my items. Basically by the rules white wolf set up a Prime 4 mage with a magic item that can have mana and can have almost unlimited mana.
I have this character. while it is by the letter of the law, I feel it deviates from the spirit of the law.
I don't feel they want a prime 4 mage to have unlimited mana. Granted Siphon does invoke paradox, but even that is not very limiting.
My suggestion:
The caster can only create Mana with this spell only once every 24 hours. Any other castings in the 24 hour period do not yield mana.
This helps to bring a prime mage in line, and reduces one bad facet of the terribly set up imbued items.
As it stands I can fill magic items and have tons of mana that I can quickly replace. With this change I can still fill magic items and have tons of mana, but doing so requires a hollow or many days at best. So Prime has an advantage (access to extra mana) but is not completely outside the need for a hallow.
Compare the costs:
Merit Imbued Item 6 dots Siphon Integrity, Channel Mana:
I no matter what kind of mage I am can now get mana as needed with only having paradox as an issue. All you have to to is hide it. Might as well buy it with Prime Cloak on it.
or
Merit Hallow 5, security and sanctum
Now you have to protect an area, have a supernal beacon out, and you have spent a ton to get it. _________________ Nothing is random, we just don't understand the variables.

I know where you're coming from on this one.
Usually this sort of thing is balanced by the fact that people don't have an endless source of stuff to canibalize.
I mean it damages the structure of size 3 per point of mana.
3 points of mana is already much more than a person's size worth of stuff that gets fairly ruined by the spell.
Now, I'm fine with considering a once per day cap on the spell. The book tries to cap it, it just throws in an exception that acts as a fairly big loophole. I'm sure that everyone would like to chime in on this real quick though.

Well, I am not even actually playing yet or anything.
But when the guy who can do it says that it is fuxed up... I don't really see much room to argue. Damn logic, back foul beast!

What the guy had (if I recall correctly) is a junkyard that he could teleport to pretty much at will (I'm pretty sure his Legacy let him do that without worrying about Paradox) where he could cannablize things that nobody would miss. _________________ Invictus; Active Spells (Personal) - Unseen Aegis (Armor 3, Potency 1), Magic Wand
