 Make Yourself Pretty, today's a big day (Neidan)

The morning of the meeting with Cartright. There is a light fog over the city, and a dampness that seeps through the windowjambs and into the sanctum.
It's chilly and miserable, with a thickness to the air that makes breathing feel strange and unpleasant.
Ankh starts from her sleep in a light sweat, whatever night terror had visited her distilled into forgotten shadow the moment her eyes fell open.
Kai shakes off his meditative rest hungry and eager for the day. His sinews and synapses flex in anticipation of coming conflict.
And West finds himself wondering on the fringe of wakefulness how cruel Fate would make today more uncomfortable and awkward than the day before.
As always, the Neidan find themselves with plenty of time to prepare.

West got up, going on his morning run, and stopped to watch a few guys running, jumping, and climbing up and down buildings. Crazy. Why didn't we have that when I was a kid? He kept running, and ran back up the steps to the Sanctum, thinking about working that into his morning routine.

Anlh took a shower and got herself dressed. She also decided to apply make-up this morning, first impressions and all.
She went into the kitchen and fixed breakfast for everyone again this morning. She was kind of nervous today, since she had just done the transformation the night before. She was not sure how West and Kai would react to her slightly aged state, but she still felt it was best for all concerned. And 22 wasn't a big stretch for her choice of ages really.
She made4 the usual, eggs, bacon, toast, grits, ham, and did the veggie thing too. Never hurt to have some extra vitamins with you breakfast.
Then, she fixed herself a plate and sat down to eat, waiting for the boys to be summoned by the smell of food.

Kai picked at his breakfast.
"Im going after her today after the meeting. I can't deal with it anymore. I'm going to at least track her down. I shouldn't have let her leave that night in the first place."
Kai took a bite, and chewed through his frustration, letting a smile cross his face.
"The breakfast is lovely Ankh, thank you once again. Your new look suits you well"

West comes in, grabbing coffee in the kitchen. "What new look?" he asks coming out of the kitchen. Seeing Ankh, he paused for a few seconds, staring at her. "Camouflage?" he finally asked.

"No." Ankh responds, not smiling but very serious. "You stated earlier and multiple times, that we needed to be inconspicuous. So, I took it upon myself to age myself to about 22. Looks less conspicuous then a 17 year old wandering around with two older men, don't you agree?"
She watches West's face, waiting to see the true reaction come forth.

West nodded. "Yeah... that's what I meant... blending in..." He walked back into the kitchen to get some food, as well as hide his frustration at the bizarre communication barrier they seemed to have.
Coming out and sitting down, he tried a smile, "It's nice, I like it too."

Ankh smiled at Kai as West made his plate in the litchen. "Thank you for the compliment Kai. I thought it wasn't a bad job myself. Took a bit of time though. So, how do you want to go about finding this mystery woman? And how can I help?"
She nodded at West when he came back in. "Thanks. I just hope I didn't over-do it."

"Well, the glass in the freezer in the plastic bag has her" Kai's face showed his apparent disgust. "well, has part of her on it. I figure I can at least do a scry, and figure out where she is. That will be step number one."
Kai picked at his breakfast some more, apparently lost in thought.
"I think I will be finding a monastery to join soon. I ran into a monk at the restaurant the other night. Hopefully he has a home here, and wasn't just a traveler."

"No, not at all," West said in response to Ankh, and then proceeded to eat quickly and efficiently. He listened to Kai, unsure of what to say to his partner's new found determination to find this... "predator", and unwilling to risk another misunderstanding with Ankh. "Thanks for breakfast," he told Ankh, and then turned to Kai, "Dishes are yours today." West headed upstairs to shower and change into his least wrinkled suit.
After Cartright, perhaps he would do some recon on the Banishers, if Ankh was going to help Kai, which is what it sounded like she wanted to do.
The thought of spending the day alone, silent, and invisible didn't sound half bad, all things considered.

Kai began speaking in High Speech, and rubbing the Black Snake Crystal that hung from his necklace. For a moment it looked like he would vomit as he doubled over in pain an a little blood ran from his nose.

Also note that Kai needs to take an additional -2 penalty if she did not give him her Real Name ))
