Grobbler appears as a man in his 30's, ill shaven, and dirty. His tattered layers of coats and shirts are evidence of his homelessness and self imposed exile from the mortal world. His disproportionately huge nose, sharp face, and those inexplicably sparkling white teeth make for an unsettling visage.
It's not that he dislikes people. It's simply that there are just so many of them and it makes him so uncomfortable to be seen by them. He's ashamed of the things he's had to do to survive, and angry at the ones who did it to him.
But peel away the mask, and it's clear just how monstrous his bondage in faerie was.
His skin is entirely a mottled purple with splotches of yellow and black and hints of red, with a moistly amphibian texture and glisten. It looks like someone beat his body until it was one ugly bruise, and then tossed him in a jar to pickle for a year or two.
His two eyes bulge largely, and his lips peel back widely. His nose arches out, hanging into space more like a beak than a human feature.
And his arms stretch right out of his sleeves, to the point where his knuckles reach his knees.
Grobbler arrived from his old Freehold in Montana about a month ago looking for his collegiate daughter. He knows that she could never recognize him, or ever believe that he was her father. But he thinks that he will be able to accept being simply a friend or acquaintance if he can only be in her life again.
