The car pulls up a block from the riverside. Three figures stand by a stationary set of looking-goggles. The middle one is wearing a brightly miscolored sweater, the others are dressed less ostentatiously.
The man on the left notices the arrival of the coming car. He cautiously waves the Neidan over.

As they climb out of the car, West quietly tells Ankh, "Please just observe and listen."

Kai got out of the car, waited for West and Ankh, and then proceeded to walk forward. He couldn't help but think the scene must look like some deranged Tarantino film, which almost caused him to break his stoic face and chuckle.

Respectfully, the side guards pull away.
And the Grand Magister Undrichmann straightens his shoulders but does not yet turn.
His garment truly is ridiculous. A patterned sweater vest with sky blue dress shirt sleeves poking out and rolled up to his shoulders, and a plaid hat and shorts and olive kneesocks like a blind golfer might have selected.
"Oh? Well you're here then, Ya?"
The Magister's accent is thickly Midwestern, his speech slow and deliberate. He turns.
"Ya don't mind if we go someplace a little more private, do ya?"
The old man's face is weather-beaten but blush rosy, his grey-white beard wild and tangled, and his big nose mashed as if it has seen many breakings during younger days.
Cold wind sweeps the little gathering, but it is not a bitter cold. It lightly sweeps the skin, and somehow draws the inner warmth out from people. Anyone nearby suddenly has thoughts of hot cocoa.
And just as suddenly as he asks the question, the old man swings a leg up onto the railing, hoists himself up, and jumps over the ledge into the river.
The guards look expectantly at the Neidan.

Kai's face doesn't give his nervousness away, but he looks at West and Ankh, raises an eyebrow, and then jumps over the railing.

West nods to Ankh, and then holds out his hand to help her over the railing. Once they're both over, he jumps as well, already considering the irony that the Magister's subject matter will undoubtedly include the Guardians.

You hit water, and go under. For a split second it is wet and cold, and the current pulls powerfully strong.
And then you realize that it isn't water at all that you are submerged in. The veil parts, and a tide pulls away leaving you standing mostly dry on the deck of a ship.
Ropes and mast dominate the center of the deck, and the ship is made less of real wood than the idea of wood. A look outward shows stormy seas raging just beyond the edge, but little sound carries onboard.
"Oh, don't you worry. It'll just look like a couple of jumpers then. Nobody saw us cross over"
The Magister no longer is wearing his golf outfit. Now he appears in full Viking battle regalia. The leathers and horns of creatures alien to the natural world and steel forged of liquid ephemera make for fearsome battle armor.
But his rosy face is just as friendly and welcoming as before.
"OK guys, you can call me Undrichmann. It's a pleasure to meet you Mr West, Mr Kai... Oh! And hello little lady (don't think I met you yet)."

Undrichmann sizes the three of you up.
"I figure that you brought the girl because you trust her? OK then." He answers himself.
"Why don't you tell me in your own words now, I think is best, what's the state of the city? What can we do better then?"
Icicles have begun to form in his bushy beard, and there are moments when crackling arcs of electricity spark from his fingertips.

Ankh looks around in amazement. She always forgot that these kinds of places existed.
Just goes to show how little experience I really have. She thought sadly.
She nodded and smiled at Undritchmann and told him her name. Other then that, she did not speak a word, allowing West and Kai to do all the talking. She was only really along to listen and learn anyway. No need to open her mouth and mess all of that up.

Kai ponders for a moment, looking at Ankh for a moment with a bit of surprise, then turns his attention back to the Magister.
"In the few days I've been here, I have managed to gather that this man" he pulls out the picture he drew of the man who he knew to cause an accident on the bridge " I believe has something to do with what's going on, and so far, we haven't been able to turn up any leads"
"Since all the mages who may have been here to tell us something are gone, I have been infiltrating the vampires. It may not be the best lead, but at least it's a start, and I think I've made some progress. Other than that, I'm stuck. I've run into more different types of supernals here in Sacramento than I've ever encountered before, but I'm hoping at least one of them have seen something that will help us piece together this puzzle."

West watched Undrichmann, silently, waiting for his response to Kai. Aside from meeting the Fae, he had nothing to add. He was a bit relieved that the Magister had accepted Ankh without reservations.

Ankh looked askance at West. She siddled up to him and kind of tugged on his sleeve. "Should I tell him about my encounter the first night here?" I don't know if it's all that important though." She said quietly, not wanting to draw attention to herself, but the encounter had really shaken her and maybe he would know who those two men were.

West nods his understanding, "Magister, I feel confident that we can communicate with politicians, as well as adhere to the Arrow precepts. We are also more than happy to assist in re-establishing an Arrow presence..."
He trails off as he listens to Ankh.
Looking back at Ulrichmann, he says, "Ankh also witnessed a confrontation before we arrived that might be relevant. Perhaps you might understand the significance of it."

Ankh clears her throat nervously.
"Well, my first night here I was looking out my bedroom window down to the street below. Then a strange fog rolled in and suddenly two men just appeared in the middle of the street. They started yelling and fighting with eachother, slinging spells and the like. I ran out of the house and confronted them about having a duel in the middle of the street in the middle of my neighborhood.
One of the men screamed, grabbing his head and fell to the ground unconscious. The other man spoke to me saying something about he was supposed to meet me, sorry it was such a loud meeting but it couldn't be helped. Then he said he was hear to watch the city tear itself apart again. Then I turned to walk away and this voice started booming from all around me. It said:
LOOK NO FURTHER FOR THOSE TOO WRETCHED FOR THIS WORLD, AND WEEP NOT FOR THIS ONE. THEIR TASK WAS TO PROTECT THE VEILS, AND INSTEAD ONE OF THEIR OWN WAS FORCED TO TEAR THEM ASUNDER! PREPARE TO HEAR THE SCREAMS OF THOSE SAME FOOLS AGAIN, AND KNOW THAT THOSE WHO SIT IN THE SEATS OF POWER ARE COME TO CLAIM THE SAME WEAPON THAT KILLED THIS CITY!!!
Then the guy said his name was Mr. Wells and vanished. The unconscious man woke up and I asked him if he was in need of healing. He told be to piss of basicly. When I asked him what all that spell slinging crap was about, he told me it was none of my damn business and to mind my spell casting because the Guardians are watching. Then he too vanished."
She took a deep breath and smiled. "That was about it I'm afraid. Sorry I could not be more helpful."

Undrichmann looks out over the savage sea.
"Now, we've got to talk about what to do with you. I am considering dividing you up. Two groups to oversee Arrows in the city. With Armadia having left the city, we will need to divide the remaining Kruegan until they calm down. The other cabals will also be reassured that we are not creating one large force under leaders they don't know or trust yet."
"What do you think? Is this Acceptable to you?"

"Also, the mages is one of many problems this city is having. Last night I ran into something I've never encountered before. Her eyes moved independently, and some mucus liquid she left behind contains menstrual blood and hundreds of eggs. It was quite disturbing."
Kai doesnt hide the utter look of disgust on his face, using his expression to emphasize how disturbing the encounter was.
