This was the location. Kutya'i regards the apartment that he will be staying in. Nice place for sure.
The consilium of his home town had sent him here to help with the investigation. Apparently things had been turning south for some time. He would need to check in at headquarters at the History Museum.

My god, Kutya'i loved trains. Say what you will about self-reliance and being your own outdoorsman and all that manly man crap, four hours in an air conditioned train and one on a bus certainly beats a month out in the mountains digging. The three mile walk from the station to the apartment was a nice wake up after the nap.
Very Zen.
Coyote and he had been a few hours out of Bakersfield when the Vegas Mystagogues made contact with their 'request'. Coyote had been surly (but he always was), but it was the truth that they were the closest ones at the time. Of course the fact that Raziel had been able to meet them with the room key and travel tickets at the train station was telling. Nobody from Vegas with any real grasp of space wanted to make the trip (His mentor had started calling them a bunch of pantywaists, and he quickly went south from there). Oh well. Kutya'i checked the room number, and hitched up his backpack before heading up to the room to see who else was staying there. He'd need a quick shower and some directions before he checked in properly with the locals.

The apartment is on the third floor of a cream colored stone building. The architecture is reserved, but precise and elegant. A receptionist had provided Kutya'i with his key, and the instruction "Third floor, the one on the left sir."
Stepping from the elevator, he sees a rich russet carpeting and deep colored wood-paneled walls. There are only two apartments on the floor, and his key is for the door to the left.
The apartment is huge, well furnished with a counter island-style kitchen, three bedrooms, a central living space, a walk in closet and a shared bathroom.
Nice.
A note on the fridge indicates that others may be sharing the space soon as well.

Kutya'i wanders around the apartment for a few minutes before dumping his backpack in one of the rooms with a window facing the building across the alley, he needed a semi-hidden way out, not a view.
Unbuckling his backpack, he sets up his clothes on the bed - A loose pullover shirt, some sweatpants and a pair of birkenstocks, then he strips out of his traveling clothes, grabs his towel and heads for the shower. Before he starts it up, he forms the imago of him being aware of every source of life cat-sized or larger and he rolls his right hand in a particularly fluid motion.

His temporary warning system set up, he turns the water on as hot as he can take it, and proceeds to wash the travel sensation off him.

Character Kutya'i status:

Not a trace of hard water, just pure crystal-clear scalding hot H2O. That was flat out wonderful. He did use the last mini-soap though.
Stepping out of the shower and drying his hair, Kutya'i begins to notice the empty feeling of the place. It's quiet and the space begs to be transformed from a room into a home.
On the other hand, the paper note from the fridge also has a phone number in the corner, probably to contact headquarters once he'd settled in.
Or he might explore the town a little. It's still fairly early in the day.

Kutya'i didn't bother to get dressed right away, instead walking around wrapped in a towel while he thinks. If he was going to be here for awhile, it might be a good idea to get a guard dog or something. He would have to see if that was an option.
But he was here for a reason, which means he needed to attend to business first. Of all the Consilliums he's gone through, none of them liked having unknown mages wandering around, and it would be a good idea to get the lay of the land so he didn't do something stupid like offend a cabal by unknowingly sticking his nose where it wasn't wanted. So he went to the apartment phone to dial the number provided to him.

Of course the bus, unless just they wanted naked men wandering around public buildings, which he was sure wouldn't cause any problems at all, he thought. He'd have to arrange for a couple spare set of clothing at headquarters though.
Kutya'i makes a sigh of frustration, he wasn't going to become a Master of Matter any time soon, so the clothing thing was going to be an issue for some time, and frankly there were other Arcanum he was more interested in studying. Dressing quickly, Kutya'i opens his window enough to let in something small like a sparrow or a pigeon get in, at least in an emergency.
Heading down to the lobby however, he is delighted to find avaliable internet access for the Hotel's guests. A few moments online at the SPT website and then a few more with Google maps showed that it would take twice as long to take the bus as walk the eight blocks to the museum. Dismissing his Sense Life spell (since he wouldn't get a great deal of use out of it in public), he heads out and down Capitol Mall Lane to headquarters.
