After School Activities (ATTN Bastille)
|
   |
|
Bastille just got his butt handed to him by the professor. It wasn't really fair, she had not assigned the reading as required.
But he was still just a little bit angry.
The evening yawns ahead of Bastille, and he considers what to do for the rest of the night.
Some of the others will probably be hanging out around that lame book place they like so much, but they'll probably have an apartment party organized for afterwords so it's an option.
He also briefly flirts with the idea of enacting a little childish revenge on his high and mighty English professor, but maybe that's out of line.
There might be a couple of bands coming into town too, nothing Bastille really was too excited about, but it might be fun anyway.

After exactly twelve minutes of residing in his mind, wrestling with the moral quandry that was revenge on his professor, Bastille grabbed his bag from the table in front of him and exited the University's cafeteria.
He'd go check out the bands playing tonight; as the local kids seemed to be posting most of the happenings outside the bookstore, that means he'd have to go there.
'But that's not necessarily a bad thing, now is it? One of those girls was really cute....' he thought idly walking down the street.
'Damnit, man! Keep your head on your shoulders. You can't get too side tracked. You're here to find out what happened to Piedmont...he might have more to teach you.' Bastille had lost his mentor to what those who gather at the bookstore call one of the most cataclysmic events in the history of the Mages inhabiting Sacramento.
Bastille reached to bookstore after a few minutes of walk. Opening the door, he steps inside and offers greetings to those he knows and casual nods to those he doesn't.

Two of the other apostates greet you. They're back in the corner near the cheezy romance novel section.
There's Gwenivelle and Jimmy Bourbon. They're talking pretty intensely and in hushed tones.
"I'm telling you, this guy's got the hookup."
"Hey Bastille, there you are. Come on over you probably want to hear this."

Nodding to the owner of the store as he walks past the counter, Bastille heads in the direction of Gwenivelle and Jimmy.
"What's up, guys? Somebody got something fun for us to do tonight?"

"Yea maybe," Jimmy begins. "Sounds like one of my buddies over at the Asylum can sneak Gwenny into the bar. I know that place isn't your thing, but hey it'll be a kick. Oh and check this out, Gwenny's got some news!"
Gwenivelle eagerly interrupts, eyes full of mischief. "I just ran into a guy earlier today, he's selling Mana. Finally somebody in this town willing to provide!"

"I think this guy isn't ready to sell just yet. He said we could get in touch with him in a day or two. He left me a card, guess it's a word for Mana." Gwenny hands it to Bastille.
Jimmy remembers something. "Hey, maybe later we were thinking we'd hit Ripcord's place, they're having a thing. The Council guys might you know, have news. Might even be a little fun by accident."
"Maybe say... meet up in an hour in a half? If we carpool I can get Phil to DD. You want to stick around and mess with Ol' Blowhard for a little while first?"
Blowhard is the group's pet name for a Wind Spirit that makes the bookstore his home. He's not very smart, not very talkative either, but sometimes he can be hilarious. He gives the owners trouble on a regular basis, blowing books and magazines off of store shelves when the front door opens.

"Nah. I think I'll just head back to my place and get ready to go. I've still got my books on me, after all. See you in an hour and a half or so." Bastille said as he waved to Gwenny and Jimmy.
Walking out the door, Bastille began his short treck towards his dorm, noting that he should probably grab a bite to eat at some point.
Upon arriving at his abode, he grabbed left overs out of the fridge and settled down to wait, noting that he still had about 45 mintues.

Cleaned up a little and looking for something to do, Bastille gets a weird feeling.
Like someone is watching him.

Note:
Make sure to refer to the rules section where I outline a format for dice rolls. It really helps me keep track of where dicepools come from.
Someone is weaving a spell, and threads of space are being knitted. This unknown intruder is trying to peer into your home, trying to find you and spy on you.
Their first attempt to pierce a scrying window failed. But magic swells, and it looks whoever it is is trying again...
01-11 20:20:56 ?? rolls 4 dice to Scry 1 success
5,7,7,9
And it looks like they might just be able to pull it off.

'Well, its about damn time someone besides the apostates found me. I just wonder who it is....and I'm sure as hell not sticking around to find out. If they really need to find me, they'll find me,' Bastille thought as he grabbed his bag and keys.
"Catch you later, whoever you are." He said as he walked out the door.
Bastille thought it might be a good idea to know what's going on around him, so he casts his Omnivision spell as he walks out the front door of his building, heading towards the bookstore, and failing that, Asylum.
01-11 21:11:08 Bastille rolls 7 dice to Wits + Composure + Space
2 successes
10,2,3,9,4, 4,2,2
OOC: Apologies on both counts. I'll get it eventually!

question: how does Bastille usually travel, by Bus, Taxi, or does he call a friend for a ride?

Bastille makes his way to the bus stop in the waning sunlight. He guardedly sweeps his attention around himself, taking note of passing cars and of neighbors trafficking between front door and automobile after work.
The signpost marker signals for Bastille to wait. And he grows just a little more anxious.
Someone else is moving towards the bus stop, and slowly. A young man dressed in a parka and khakis, with a too-crisp church choir haircut. He's maybe a hundred yards off, but he gives off a creepy feeling.
