Since this pertains to myself, I will give a typical cop out answer-
because i'm running the game.

But to give an answer that is more pleasing. I will say that I have not made a mage because I don't feel comfortable playing with phenomenal cosmic power willy nilly. I try to make all of my characters responsible. Perhaps i should play a Guardian then...

Well for me in all honesty the reason I havent looked into a werewolf character yet is because I A) havent had a lot of time B) would go with Changling as my second choice, Werewolf coming in third, Vampire 4th and C) I feel I'll fall into the old mindset of when I played WtA and the old system, and I always played a Were-Anything other than a wolf. Sorry >_< I didnt wanna subject Were-Cat insanity into a brand new game.

To be fair, while the Cat-people in changing breed are meh, the ones in War against hte pure are AWESOME. Basicly, there are werewolves stripped of the spiritual component, but forced to hunt bad humans or go crazy. I'm dying to run a game of that sometime.
But no, you are correct in that a were-anything right now would not be good. I want at least 2 packs before I start hearing about other were-creatures.

Total ignorance of the new Werewolf.

Plus the awesomeness of new Changeling threatens to be first on my list if I make a new character.

Spirit aspect has always been my favorite part of Ww, I am borrowing a copy of WtF soon, and I'll be able to decide if I want in.

Mainly because I don't care for the Spirit component.

I've been considering it, though.

I didn't realize there was such a strong calling for were-others.

My personal favorite of the were-others in nWoD is the Colony from War against the pure.
Would people be interested in playing a clutch of cats. I'd most likely have to put you on the same side as the Forsaken (after some fun roleplaying of course). But if there is enough interest, I'll go fight the good fight to the Lady.

Clarification:

The Colony is NOT the Bastet from changing breeds.

I'll probably have to go back and reread the Colony section in the book. I remember the urge every 10years to infect a new member into the colony and the PURE MENTAL NEED to kill someone with a morality below 4 or else start going even more kookoo for coco puffs. I might be down for that though. I need to finish my changeling though Very Happy

So, i'm going to take this speace and use it to describe werewolf. For apparently no good reason.

Werewolf is a game of excesses. Werewolves can drink top shelf whisky like it is water. They love more than any vampire could hope to inspire, and hate more than any archmage can muster. They are bound by inescabable duty, or fight viciously against it. And yet, they are balanced. They balance both themselves against the world, as well as reaching for inner balance. Balance, however, is not peace. Werewolves are fighters. They fight those they police, they fight those who don't want there to be any policing, and they fight those whose very existance is the proverbial "gun pointed at the head of life on earth".

Forsaken is about monsters. Real, honest to god monsters, who go out every night and hunt down the real monsters. Think ghost busters meets the Shield. Struggling to stay human while still acknowledging your monsterness is no small task, and yet every werewolf does it from sunup to sundown.

Mechanical aspects:
It is the only Supernatural template where killing bad people is not only allowed, but encouraged. Kiling innocents isn't a good idea, but that is true for all systems. This means that when you discover the drug dealer who cuts his dope that made your cousin sick you don't have to agonize over what to do about him. Deciding whether he lives or dies is now a question of sending the right message, not about personal morality. Every fiber of your being screams to rip him to shreds. And few werewolves will ever let you mess with their blood.

Ok, I've finally finished getting somewhat familiar with the WtF rules.

I will roll a woof-woof.
