You can see what looks like and anger and sadness cross her face for a brief moment, before her composure returns, as well as a little bit of the smug smile.

Her eyes shift for a minute as if shes contemplating at this point what she can and can't tell you.
"Niles claims he looked back and couldn't see whoever it was because they were occluded from his sight. Unfortunately, telling you where our little hide away is..." she looks at West for a moment, "I just can't do it."
Kai comes out with the Iced tea and hands it to West, and Chocolate Mousse Latte that he hands to Ankh, and sits at the next table over with his cup of White Tea.

"Have a wonderful late night, all of you"
She picks up her things and begins walking away.

Ankh drinks her latte and thinks about going roller blading later. It was really nice outside. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right.
Then, West brings up more work and she stifles a groan. She knows it needs to be done and they need to do it, but she is just done with all of this crap.
Maybe we should just relax until tonight when we go to the church. She thinks, her spirits rising for a moment. But it does not last long as she loses the nerve to even suggest it.
She shrugs. "Confession is late at night, I guess that leaves Cartwright."

"Confessions are at night?" West asked. He'd just been making a joke, he actually had no idea what people did in churches... or when they did them.
Well, he had a good idea from the news what they weren't supposed to do, but that was neither here nor there.
"Let's go ahead and check out the Cartright site, give Vex some time to make any preparations she needs to." West finished his tea and stood up.
Fishing a unusually large handful of scratch-off Lotto tickets out of his pocket, he handed one to Kai with a grin. "For the tea and latte. Keep the change."

"Yep, that looks like the sun to me." She looks back at West with a frown. "So, that means we should wait until late tonight to go to the church. Now, do we need an invite from the Magister to go and see about Cartwright and I am missing it?"
