Walking around downtown, Martin stops, looking at a bit of rubbish painted up on a wall. "Savages," he realizes, and looks around to see if he is being observed. Not noticing anything, he continues further into the Rack, his walk now slowed as he takes in his surroundings.

Could it be that the Gangrel have left their domain unattended? None have challenged him yet, and the Beast in his breast remains quiescient, undisturbed. He passes outside a nightclub, held up by the crowd of people outside, trying to pass through their number. A look of annoyance crosses his face.

Martin feels it now, that tightening in his gut, something coiling there. But with all the people in the street, no one stands out, there is no obvious target for the Beast. The sounds of the street and nightlife obscure any clue as to who might be near.
He pauses for a moment near the Avalon, back to the wall, and tries to look casual.

Martin feels more than sees the Hound's approach, and as he looks up and makes eye contact, he seems to freeze--just for a moment, his lip curled slightly, his hands locked into talons. Then he softens, his gaze pulled downward to the sidewalk.
"Good evening," he says. His voice starts out with a minor tremble of fear but it firms as he goes on. "I thought I might take in the sights. I'm new to town. Just learning my way."

Martin flashes a small smile that doesn't reach his eyes. "I have relatives in the area, yes. Seems I lost my address book, though... don't happen to have their number or anything."

Zachary pauses and prepares himself as he makes the corner of Q Street toward 21st. It is then that he sees them...several of them. His beast cries out at what it considers to be lesser predators...cries out for a show of dominance...cries our for blood. But Zachary is a creature with great reserves of inner fortitude...and a damn good thing too, or he probably wouldn't make it long in this town. Zachary stands across the street from the other Predators, making sure that he is plainly visible and making sure that he is clearly looking at them.

His attention pulled away from the Hound, Martin looks across the street as the animal within him feels another presence. After a moment he closes his eyes, opens them again, and nods in Zachary's direction. A wary greeting.
Looking back to the Hound he begins to talk again. "Perhaps you know my cousin? I'm supposed to meet him here in town. His name is Lord. Vince Lord." He pauses a moment to let that sink in. His voice is conversational in tone and volume, enough that passing kine likely wouldn't overhear but those with stronger senses would. "He used to play basketball for Sacramento High. He was center. They had an undefeated season."

Zachary listens intently, but does not draw any closer...he waits for a reaction from the other Kindred. Curiosity getting the better of him, Zachary attunes his senses so as to hear the conversations being held across the street.

Zachary strides quickly across the street with an exaggerated smile wrapped from ear to ear. The expression reads something like "Hello old friend who I haven't seen in years but who I have just randomly bumped into on the street!" As he bridges about half of the gap between his side of the street and the street that the other Kindred stood on he extends his hands as if to say "Oh my God!"
"William!" He says; looking directly at Davis. "As I live and breath! Why don't you ever write? What a coincidence running into you on the street like this! I'm actually here looking for my God Father...it's been years and I seem to have lost track of him, but I need to find him so that he can introduce me to some of his business connections here in town...if you know what I mean." Zachary grins and makes the elbow jab motion...you know, international sign for "I'm speaking in double entendre." "It always pays to know someone who is in the know...wouldn't you agree William?"

Even through his own fear--feeling the weight of the Beast coming at him from Zachary and Davis--this can't help but be amusing to Martin. Back to the Avalon, he listens to Zachary with an expression of faint amusement on his face, eyes flicking from him to the Hound.

Zachary gives a solid, serious look to Davis...the sort of look that says "I'm putting on a show for the juice bags", and looks over his shoulders nervously for a split second.
"Hey William...why don't we and your friend go somewhere more quiet where we can catch up on old times...maybe get ahold of that God Father of mine."

Zachary grins slightly at the bearing of fangs.
"Ah...subtlety...of course."
As soon as Zachary feels that all parties have arrived at a more discreet location where it is acceptable to speak a little more freely Zachary leans toward Davis to tell him something quietly *not whispering persay...just discreetly*
"Is it more subtle to behave in a manner that an average human might behave when they see a friend in public, or to bear ones fangs and hiss in the presence of the kine? I of course mean no offense...but I think that one of us was a bit more suspicious back there than the other. True enough that I do not know who you are...for all I know you might be the Prince himself...but regardless, I am somewhat taken aback at the insinuation that it was I who was lacking in subtlely."

Martin follows inside, keeping quiet, making discretion the better part et cetera et cetera. He does take a moment to look around, first, at the mention of "Ace." It does not bode well that someone completely escaped his notice...
