"White tee, blue shirt over, tan slacks," Joshua says. "I'm driving an '83 Plymouth Duster, white. I should be there in ten minutes."

No answer. Good. Someone guarded and familiar with defense.
"My name is Joshua," he says, glancing at the clock on the dashboard. "I'm looking for a man named West? I was given this phone number by some mutual friends in Philiadelphia, and I just shot like an arrow to get over here."

Joshua sits in the car, using the prepaid cell to call the phone number listed beneath the address that he was given. He hopes West will pick up despite it being an unfamiliar number that will show on the ID.

Hehe. Depends on the frame I think. I'm the same height and at that weight I still seemed very... insubstantial. Ten pounds more and suddenly I've got a belly. So, who knows?
(edited to add: no offense meant on the subject of calling people scarecrows Wink

PostForum: Awakened Mood   Posted: Fri Mar 13, 2009 5:07 pm   Subject: Travelling Light
The sedan was nominally white but currently beige, caked in road dust from his travel through the Southwest. He'd bought it with cash in Allentown just before the trip out. Cash at every restaurant and motel along the way. No need for gasoline--jugs of water were much cheaper, and could be transmuted. Joshua had no plastic of any kind and the cash was running low, but that was his way.
If they can see you coming all the way across the country, it isn't a sneak attack.
Two Samsonite suitcases were in the back seat, with nearly all his worldly possessions inside: a few days worth of clothing, a second pair of shoes, the few books he could afford to bring with him. The rest of his belongings were on him. His tools. His knife. His 9 mil.
The AC was blasting, doing nothing to stop the sweat, just freezing it on his forehead. The air made the map on the passenger seat rattle in the breeze. He'd mostly memorized the route before leaving the motel this morning but still needed the map occasionally, more and more as he got closer to Sacramento.
There was an address on a slip of paper next to the map, and a name--West. A vaguely familiar name, and he wondered if this was someone he'd known in the past. Joshua supposed he would be finding out soon enough.
He turned off the freeway. Wouldn't be more than ten, fifteen minutes before he got to his destination.

PostForum: Awakened Character Descriptions   Posted: Fri Mar 13, 2009 4:46 pm   Subject: Joshua Morris
He's a scarecrow, this one--looks to top out at about six-foot-two and could maybe be two hundred pounds if he was soaking wet. There's muscle on his frame but it looks very lean, given how much frame there is to cover.
His hair is a dark brown, nearly black, cut into a crewcut. His eyes are brown. A clean shaven, angular face, which could be handsome if he wasn't so dour--his expression is blank at best, pulled down into a scowl at worst, brows knitted together.

Parkour! I knew there was something I forgot on my mage.

(edit to add comment: because you know if there's a bandwagon for something that looks cool in a movie, I'll jump on it)

That whole scene is a great read. That's a lot of fun... too bad Toni lost her car so soon after getting it back again. Very Happy

Martin says his goodbyes to Asa, nods to the nearby Olivette and gives a little half-wave to the ghoul, and begins to make his way to the door. On the way out he glances at Elle and gives the Hound a nod. "Mr. Davis," he says as he passes.

Martin nods at each person pointed out to him. "Good to know, thank you. I've met Mr. Davis. A bit brusque but I've no doubt he knows how to get the job done."
He sighs, looking around the club. "I should probably be on my way, soon. I still have to go to Ballo Della Notte. Also I need to start getting situated here in Sacramento. Not," he says with a smile, "that I don't appreciate your offers of help to those of us who are new in town. But I'd much like to see what I can accomplish on my own, first."

Martin mulls this over for a moment. "I suppose an apology would be in order, to both Miss Seraphina and Baron Dupree. My ignorance of the situation is no excuse for acting without forethought.
"Our current situation sounds deplorable, Asa. I'm glad to see our family has such strong leadership at its helm."

Martin possibly makes a noise in the back of his throat, but its hard to tell over the sound of the club. "Yes. Not my finest moment, that. No, I came to Sacramento to put the lessons of my nights to use. San Francisco is incredibly crowded by our kind of people, and more all the time."

"Oh, I wouldn't have missed this," Martin says. "We have to support our family." A bit of a turn from the other night? "I anticipate many great things from Antoinette, and I'm sure this is just the start. The Baron must be very proud of his childe right now."

Not knowing that Asa is probably trying to get back to his special lady friend, Martin approaches from the side, navigating through the fetish crowd. "Mr. Clarke," he says by way of greeting, hands in his pockets. "Quite a show tonight, wasn't it?"

Martin just looks at Antoinette for a moment, not comprehending; then he nods. "Yes, yes, of course! I need to make my introduction to the rest of our compatriots. And hopefully it will go better than my last introduction." He's smiling but there is a bit of venom in that last statement.
"Here," he adds, pulling an unadorned card from his jacket pocket. "My phone number, in case you or the Baron need to get in contact with me. You've had an exciting night and I'm sure there are many who would like to speak with this evening's star..."

Well, it would be remiss not to take the opportunity now that it had presented itself. Martin hadn't strayed from his seat at all during the show, and afterwards he had continued to look around, noting the many Kindred here he didn't recognize. He'd seen Antoinette walking the floor and nearly spoke with her then, but saw her sit with the Baron--Martin hadn't noticed him, sitting far in the back. So he kept his seat, and waited.
After the Baron leaves, Martin stands and makes his way to Antoinette's table. "Congratulations," he says. "Tonight seems like quite the success. Those lines were quite evocative."

I mostly was just looking for a connection to someone here more than a mentor. I didn't want to just walk in out of the blue. Not that I have any problem doing that either! I'm still working on the character so we'll see what develops.

PostForum: OOC Mage Discussion   Posted: Tue Mar 10, 2009 3:40 am   Subject: Pondering a new char
Been thinking about playing a mage. I ran/played oWoD mage for about 8 years but have never done nWoD mages... prospect kind of scares me, honestly, as I don't quite have the system down yet.
Anyhow. Thinking of coming over to this sphere and have a concept for a Moros AA. He's never really had a mentor, just been tossed from group to group to learn different disciplines and techniques. Are there any chars--PC or NPC--who are older and have been used to teach Arrows in the past, and whose players wouldn't mind me writing them into my background a little bit? It wouldn't have to be a full mentor/student relationship on here, although that could develop, but it could just be a simple little "Oh yeah, I remember you" sort of thing.
Thanks!

((Sorry I'm late, computer problems.))

Not for the first time, Martin wondered what drew the kindred to the fetish scene the kine enjoyed so much. Was it that the attitudes of the mortals involved were that much more extreme? Was it the ready willingness some humans displayed here, the urge to be enthralled and dominated?
No matter. This was not a time for philosophy.
He came in as Antoinette was speaking, listening as he found his seat. He looks to the stage in surprise as she mentions the content of her dreams, taking a seat near the back so he can watch the show but not have too much attention drawn to himself... after the Ventrue meeting he thought it best, perhaps, to lay low.

I didn't have much interaction with him but nothing but good can come from having a member of the Clan running a business which can benefit the kindred so much.

Very quiet. Plotting or simple?
